Red Ranger 1 Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Alf being a douche is no great surprise frankly, he has a very long and ignoble history of taking an instant dislike to those he decides don't belong in "his" town, sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly. I'm unsure how I feel about him keeping Zane's story to himself. It's fair that he doesn't go blabbing someone else's private business around town, but if the upshot is him telling Leah and Justin "You shouldn't have anything to do with him, I won't tell you why, just take my word for it", then he might as well tell them and let them make up their own minds. David did much the same, saying that the community-minded copper in him says Zane has served his time and deserves a second chance but "the other part" says to be careful. So what part is that, the part with a Napoleon complex? I see his attempt to instill discipline lasted all of an episode before Lacey was picking him up from his first day back. Okay, this marks the point where episode counts mean the show's lost momentum, as Harper's response to realising Beau is dangerous is... to go on holiday with him. They're going to need to do a lot of work to sell that one. Cash advises Tane not to be the ex bagging on the new boyfriend and claims it's the same as his situation but it isn't at all: They're pretty sure Beau's a wrong un, while Cash was just imagining stuff about Tim because he wanted him to be one. Meanwhile, Harper may have had her eyes slightly opened about Beau, but Dana still has hers clamped shut where Sonny's concerned, even when she catches him lying, although I guess they do have a lot more history for her not to want to think the worst. pembie Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Yes very strange writing with Beau going away the day of or after the drug raid but I guess his gone on the run At the moment in time I have zero interest in this Zane story other than every time he calls Marilyn Ms Chambers l can’t help but think it’s a start of a porn film Quote

We did see a text from Beau to Sonny about him having to keep a low profile for a while so Sonny is going to have to step in. How, if Beau has other clients, will they know it's Sonny they will have to go to? Not something you'd announce is it? Alf indeed has a long history of taking against people, Justin and family, being one, but to be fair, kind of, if they prove themselves he stands by them. David had to be pretty circumspect when asked about Zane's history, officially he can't say anything, but dropped some heavy clues. Harper, likely, is too scared not to take up Beau's offer of going away again. Tane as we saw is on to him. Dana, may and it's a BIG may forgive Sonny for using drugs BUT not being a dealer, which is sad as they are a great couple. Agree nothing like Cash suspecting Tim of being a bad un whereas, even though there is no proof, both he and Tane's instincts are right about Beau. Plus not as if Harper immediately took up with someone else as soon as she dumped Tane, another plus, he wasn't in love with her like Cash was with Eden, it was just his pride that got hurt. Maz's idea to get Leah to take on Zane on a trail basis backfired. To me David was giving Amelia mixed messages when he was talking to her at the hospital, no wonder she got the hump. Quote
pembie Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 Sonny did stand unaided for Dana though and I was like blimey how did you manage that and then he walked up the stairs all before Beau Quote

Red Ranger 1 Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 I kind of wish Mali had gone in harder with Alf. I feel like people are often far too soft on Alf because he's Summer Bay Legend Alf Stewart and have trouble accepting that there are times when his opinion really shouldn't be respected. His constant insinuations contributed to Leah giving Zane a harder time than was warranted. (Still, I had to roll my eyes at Alf saying Marilyn always thinks the best of people.Tell that to Eliza. For that matter, tell that to John.) I must admit though, Zane doing a runner rather than sticking it out and trying to win people's trust and respect has made me think a bit less of him. I mean, wasn't it obvious that Leah only gave him the trial because of Marilyn? The right thing to do would be to make the most of the opportunity, not jack it in. David is acting like a bumbling schoolboy around Amelia, although as Lacey reminds us, that's basically what he was the last time he was asking someone out on a date. As ever, David seems to expect professionalism from everyone but himself. I am intrigued by Lacey and Jo's reaction. Lacey, understandably, seems to have accepted she can't stand in David's way if this is what he wants, but isn't going to encourage it. (I loved her "Are you for real?" reaction when Jo actually started giving the "At the hospital earlier..." speech.) Jo seems to have replaced Leah and Justin as the one who insists on stirring things and should probably stay out of it. Quote
c120701 Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 Marilyn was carrying her stillettos on the beach. I guess she (or Emily) realised it may no longer be the best idea. Quote
pembie Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 (edited) With Marilyn and Zane discussing the different blends of coffee beans I have no clue what they might have chatted about in their letters other than that they know nothing about each other haha Anyway we are left with David and Amelia sigh Yes the let’s be friends line means basically let’s not talk to each other again a line l encountered way back at school and university the fact that I could normally charm my way out is irrelevant So I’m not too sure what rock David’s been living under come on man Levi might have been a doctor without borders once but Amelia you are very much a doctor with said borders at the moment Levi has hurt his hand you aren’t going anywhere girl Edited August 27 by pembie Quote
H&Alover Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Mali is a respectful young man so probably feels it isn't his place to challenge Alf, It was Maz of all people who had a swipe at him along with Leah and Justin. Maz got it wrong about Bronte though didn't she, it was only Dana who sussed her out. It hasn't helped Zane's case him doing a runner, he's not in trouble with the cops yet but when is he next due to sign in at Yabbie Creek to keep in line with his parole conditions. Zane didn't know Leah was only doing Maz a favour by taking him on and Leah was very cutting with her comment. What was with her objecting to Zane serving a customer, did she think he'd pocket the money? Been a bit pointless Max teaching him how to use the coffee machine if he couldn't serve anyone. Then berating him for giving Amelia the wrong take-away, it was his first time and anyone can make a mistake. Came back to bit Leah on the bum though. Jo and Lacey have switched positions on how they feel about David seeing someone, Jo interrogating Amelia was NOT a good idea. Like anyone who had been in a long term relationship/marriage he would feel very out off it, not knowing how to chat someone up. Levi still being out of action has scuppered her plans to leave. A very touching scene with Dana and John in the 'new' episode. Not wanting to reveal too much but I was a tad confused.com by the way Eden and Abby greeted Levi when he and Mac went into Salt. He had the same thoughts as I did as regards his future as a doctor. Quote
Serenity6063 Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Alf and Marilyn are both doing my head in at the moment! Quote
