If Dana was at the hospital working, then fine, it makes sense for her to wander along and overhear, but instead she's wearing her lifesaving outfit so...why's she there?

When they were in the diner earlier, Sonny had told Dana she could leave to go to work whilst he sorted things out with Remi.

So I guess we're meant to believe that Dana was later arriving for her shift... and heading to the locker room to change?

The next ep only confuses matters even more I'm afraidÂ đŸ˜„

That was a cute scene between John and Dana. I'm not sure there's actually any reason why he definitely couldn't both walk her down the aisle and conduct the service (I've actually seen someone do both, although it was a bit more complicated than that). So does this make John and Irene her Summer Bay parents?

The only reason I thought was John would have to ask and answer who was giving Dana’s hand in marriage.

Whilst I quite like this story with the hand injury for Levi I feel as if it’s too soon to Sonny’s debilitating injury storyline which we’re still dealing with the aftermath of.

Yeah, that did cross my mind. I'm trying to remember if they actually say that in a civil marriage. Again, they probably do in soaps!

What an episode, very dark but all killer no filler; they packed a lot in and just when you thought there couldn't be any more... Bang.  Dana knows.

It helps that Sonny & Dana are probably the first couple I’ve been invested in for quite a long time, I think as characters they’re great on their own which really makes them work well as a couple.

Beau as soon as he started hitting Harper is basically when he started to lose control ironically so he isn’t the brightest

As soon as Remi tells Eden what is happening and she promises to keep it too herself everyone finds out five seconds later l found that quite amusing

As you said Red, Harper's abuse by Beau has gone up a lot of gears very quickly compared to UK soaps, like in Corrie Todd's mental and physical abuse by Theo that went on for a year so in a way it's doing the people who go through it for real a disservice. Though of course some on H&A's fb say it's dragging on.  She is keeping Archie out of Beau's reach but he doesn't want him around anyway as it takes Harper's attention away from him.   If Dana wasn't wrapped up in her own little world she'd  have picked up on Harper's  distress. Tane's antenna was twitching on Friday.

As also been said Sonny's world- and has so as  Dana's -  come crashing down but he did redeem himself somewhat on Friday's 'new; episode.  Beau thinks he is so clever, but I think he has forgotten something, without saying too much  phones/trackers come into it.đŸ˜‰Â But that is just my thinking.  I was right about Sonny cottoning on about  Beau's treatment of Harper and as  said before If Dana wasn't wrapped up her own world she'd have clicked, she has picked up on the fact Archie isn't around though.

I can't remember if John did the "Who giveth this woman to this man" bit  when he married Leah & Justin, VJ, of course did the walking of Leah down the aisle.  They do have to do a lot of paperwork in Aus than we do here.  The Notice of Marriage has to be submitted at least one month before intended marriage and up to 18 months the aforementioned ceremony.

Was that an intentional  pun Red about Mac and Levi?   You know doctor/nurses they feel they ought to do what they have been trained for and feel unless if they can't. Remi wasn't backwards in coming forwards in telling Cash the whole story, while keeping Sonny's name out of it.  Did raise my earlier question does the Surf Club have CCTV?

Belatedly caught up on Friday. I think I like how it moves quickly, with British soaps you can miss and episode or two and pick things back up fairly easily.  H&A isn't like that, I think also because of episode quotas storylines can get rested for days at a time whereas in the UK they're constantly running so they do keep the pace up.  They're also not on all year round so aren't pumping out five episodes a week, 52 weeks a year, plus double Christmas episodes things like that.

Sonny's recovery is a prime example.  In Emmerdale Chris Tate lost the use of his legs as part of the big plane crash of late 1993, and then remained wheelchair bound for ten years until he committed suicide. The steroids storyline has sped things up a bit I guess but it's still a huge gear change.

I did wonder for 2 seconds whether the audience would get what they wanted to see, and that's Tane - now in possession of all the facts - let loose on Beau. As I said earlier what would do a real injustice to real life victims - in my opinion - would be to have two wrongs make a right. I don't think Tane putting Beau in NDH would send out the right signals, so we have to see him face the music legally instead, which I think is the right thing to do. Same with Sonny, he's done the right thing and confessed. He's going to plead guilty when tried so I assume he'll either get a short custodial (I assume Ryan's recent IRL wedding in England means a write-out in a bit?) or some sort of community order (he's pleaded guilty and cooperated with the Police) - we shall see.

Remi has decided to back Sonny, and now he's confessed that makes it easier for the Police to nail Beau, surely?  Wouldn't they now have grounds to search the flat and arrest Beau in order to carry that search out?  I don't understand why they've only had him attend voluntary interviews, when Sonny's confessional statement should be grounds to nick him?

With Chris Tate in Emmerdale he broke his back but Sonny 'only' had bruising on his spinal cords so there was a chance he'd be able to walk again.  The steroids did help as he'd been banned from overdoing his exercises  in the gym and that was why he was scared to stop them as he thinks, rightly or wrongly, it would put him back where he was.

I don't, for one, want to see Tane deal out his own method of punishment on Beau, though he would deserve it.  Not just his drug dealing but his DV against Harper.  Beau may be a vicious drug dealer but he's not stupid to be hiding any drugs in the Diner flat. He's only suspected at the moment so all the cops can do is ask him to help with their enquiries. Now Sonny has fessed up, it would take things to another level.  I get the police will have to ask, but Harper had no idea of what he was doing, she, after all,  like Dana had been there, done that.  Btw don't call me Shirley.Â đŸ˜‰

I agree that there's an advantage in episode quotas giving you a break from a storyline you're not interested in and that's why I think it's best to watch the show in blocks: I see 6 episode weeks in Australia where every episode revolves around the same plots and characters while others disappear for a week, because it's half one block and half another. But I also think it can count against a storyline and cause it to lose momentum: Harper going away with Beau right after realising he's dangerous because she can't be in the next three episodes was just ridiculous.

Well, it was all a bit focused in today's 6pm episode. Dana's definitely not acting like she's meant to be at work, and I assumed in the previous episode that she had a lifesaving shift and that's what Sonny meant about needing to get to work. Maybe more time passed between those scenes than there appeared and she's done her shift and came to the hospital to check something? (No, doesn't sound right to me either.) Anyway, it feels like Sonny has finally turned the corner towards redemption, with the double-shock of Remi being beaten up and then Dana finding out being enough to get him to make a confession to Cash and try and take down Beau. One thing that doesn't seem to have occurred to Beau or anyone else: Dana was with Harper the previous night and knows Beau wasn't there.

I'm pleased that, while Eden and Dana seem happy to write Sonny off, Remi has stuck by his earlier promise to be there for him when he's ready to accept help. Meanwhile, Tane's probably the most clued up person in the show as he becomes the first to learn that Beau's been violent towards Harper (with Dana thinking Harper's keeping a different secret and not sticking around for the explanation). Count me among those hoping this doesn't get reduced to "Beau hitting Harper makes him the lowest of the low but Tane hitting Beau makes him a hero". If nothing else, given Tane's on a very long suspended sentence and we've already seen people trying to goad him into violence to get him into trouble, it would be hard to justify treating it as no big deal.

I've just done today's "official/new/6:30pm" and whilst Tane wanted to go full caveman, at the Cop Shop, in the interview room, in front of David; Cash reminded him that was a bad idea and he pulled back when he was reminded of the cost to himself. Nobody could blame Tane but as I think most people agree it would make a mockery of the storyline for real life victims of DV.

Not for the first time Virgin made me put my PIN in to watch that; there are maybe some advantages to streaming only because ITV would have cut an episode full of references to drugs, references to hitting women and a guy threatening to kill said woman and her son to absolute ribbons mid-afternoon on the last day of the summer holidays.

As much as I love dark H&A, we need light & shade and from what I've read/heard from Australians who saw it two weeks ago, tomorrow's sausage sizzle at the Beach House (featured in the promo) is classically "light" H&A. David's going to make a play for Amelia right in front of the girls.

What can possibly go wrong?

Finally, we get a sense of geography of the region for the first time in a while when Harper switched off her tracking app.  We know the Cop Shop is in Yabbie Creek, whereas Summer Bay itself is right on the tip of a peninsula.

@Dan Fwas Harper actually where her phone said she was, if we assume the map was actually a real map?  Having just checked Palm Beach on Google Maps it looks fairly similar!  It looked like either Warriewood or Bilgola Plateau was standing in for Yabbie Creek.

Edit... Just gone back and photographed my TV (the links should open the pics)

Screenshot from Harper's phone

Screenshot of Palm Beach etc on Google Maps

So to answer my own question, Warriewood effectively is Yabbie Creek.
