I can't really see Alf who looks after 2 businesses (Surf Club and bait shop) leaving post lying around for a month.  And if it was while he was away surely John or Roo would be dealing with it instead.  After all there could be bills that need paying in there, etc.

Sonny getting a bit ahead of himself.  Only just able to stand for a little while and then tackling stairs!

Don't blame Cash for being irritated by the new guy; I find him irritating myself and he's only just started.  🤪

Alf's episode count this week:Two.

I don't know what Roo thought she was playing at here. She was right that Alf needed to get his license sorted, and if he'd let her drive him to his appointment then they'd have avoided at least one, possibly both, of his charges, but constantly badgering him about it wasn't going to do anything except get his back up. She needed to take a step back and let him sort it out in his own way and in his own time. Richie performs the time honoured new cop rite of passage of pulling Alf over: I'm not sure why Cash would think this is his first offence, it's been happening for decades!

I was pleasantly impressed by how things went between Mali and Abby. Abby pried a bit too much but ultimately they were honest with each other and accepted that it's a bit weird but it's the way things are now. I was not expecting things to go so far so quickly with Lily, although it looks like we won't be seeing her again. Of course, Abby's then quickly moving on to Richie herself, when she's not busy pranking him out of apparent boredom. (Mali indicated he'd ordered the coffees ahead, presumably via some sort of app. It's a foreign world to me.)

Nice to hear that Peterson's out of hospital and recovering!

I'm guessing anything to do with the Surf Club would go there as we know he, Alf, does go off to see Martha every couple of weeks or so so John would deal with it, Roo's  been away herself hasn't she?  Maz, you would have thought, taken in any post sent to the house and filter out any 'junk' mail.    Roo is her father's daughter after all, if it had been the other way around he'd be nagging her.  I think Alf knows he should get it sorted he is an upright citizen after all, BUT having said that he had been nicked for speeding by Rose when shew first pitched up. Apps are a foreign world to Alf too so you and I are not alone.  But maybe he's worried the doc may find something which may prevent him from driving.

I missed that about Mali pre ordering Lily's coffee. Sorry to keep wittering on about  the coffees but don't they normally get them from the Diner?  Not that Richie  would know where that is.

Saw a different  side to David in Friday's second episode. 😄  Something else  else - not earth shattering  but David  did call Richie by his first name when he left the station maybe because of his surname.  Be fair to Richie he is a newbie and probably trying to make a good impression on his new colleagues and boss. He may calm down once he's found his feet.   Have we ever seen a new recruit before as in  just out of Police Academy?

Well, with Roo having the episode off and nagging Alf via technology instead, it's left to Leah and Marilyn to fail to realise that badgering Alf is likely to have the opposite effect to what they desire. Alf had a point that David won't be making house calls for many people offering to let them off and, again, how on earth does the guy have a clean record? I know these things only stay on file for so long but still. I guess we'll have to see if David's right about there being more to it than just being annoyed.

Richie gave Cash a bit more reason to be wary of him here, being a bit too enthusiastic about the prospect of using his gun one day.His date with Abby seemed to go well, although apparently not as well as it looked like it might do at one point! David's back telling officers to keep their personal life away from the station: I wonder if that rule will still be in effect next time Lacey or Jo pops by? I'm pretty sure we've had a probationary constable before but I can't think who.

Eden and Remi's rather focused late night song writing sessions are getting on Cash's nerves to the point that I'm almost wondering whether he spilled that coffee on purpose: It would take a special talent to be that destructive by accident!

Corey Henderson - so nothing to worry about 😉

Checked Corey Henderson out Dan F, let's hope the Academy do proper checks on their recruits  nowadays. 🙂

David has been showing his softer side towards Alf, that speeding fine was a while ago so it may have lapsed, but Alf stood his ground about being charged, maybe not wanting to feel obliged. 🤔 We did see in the promo there was more to it and was what I thought it was about his reluctance about  going to the doctor.  Again in the promo we saw a certain someone giving him food for thought about accepting help from people. 🤫🤐🙊  Did remind me that Alf put off something else regarding his health a good while back.  it was his eyesight which he kept saying was fine until he hit little Pippa while reversing his ute, but in his defence she was hiding behind it and was out of his eyeline.

Richie did seem over keen about using his gun, I'm guessing he would have training on how to use one, though he is a new cop so wouldn't he have had have been in the job a little longer?   Cash does know the dangers of using one and being shot.

Although it might not have been illegal with Abby sneaking Richie  into Salt after hours as she wasn't selling him alcohol but still not the best of ideas. Salt losing more profit then.

Eden's idea did give Remi a kick start into getting back into music and OK if your are in the groove you've got to go with it.  I'm thinking Cash wouldn't have been so miffed if he hadn't been so annoyed/frustrated by Richie.  That was a naughty thought Red as if Cash would do something like that. 😉    Someone else was feeling out of it.

Did we get different promos? The one I saw yesterday focused entirely on Tane being brought round, and the one in today's 6pm episode was about him and Harper.

David apologising to Tane at least makes him more of a grown-up than at least two of the people in the room. The problem is you never know what David you're going to get: He has a few episodes being friendly then snaps back to being a hard-headed bully. Mackenzie managed about a quarter of a compliment for him. Tane is soon being childish enough that I want them to put him under again. Jo has a bit of a wobble, having put up with a lot of selfishness from him, and his response is to throw his toys out of the pram and say he doesn't want to play anymore?

Leah did a very good job of undoing Alf's progress by continuing to fill in for the absent Roo in the nagging stakes. She didn't even seem to twig once Justin spelled it out for her, just snapping at him instead. In the end, a combination of the timing and right approach meant Justin got there. The tradition of newbie cops charging Alf for driving offences goes back at least as far as Jill Mitchell in 1990, taking in Joel Nash and probably some others I've forgotten.

Sonny seemed to accept Eden and Remi doing their song writing stuff without him and get put out when they decided to do it somewhere else! It feels a bit like Kirsty's been erased from history with him talking about it being just the three of them in high school. So Remi kept the studio? Maybe he should ring up Eddie and ask him if he wants to use it?

Including being charged by Pia Corelli in 2003 for... you guessed it... having an expired licence (after he bumped into her car whilst giving Seb a driving lesson).
