Episode counts this week: Brax and Ricky were in four. Again. The show really is determined to get its money worth out of them, even when they admit there's nothing for them to do because everyone else in the storyline is not doing four episodes a week.

And it's a shame they're being thrust in our face so much, because every episode Brax is in reminds me what an awful selfish arrogant person he is, and how much he didn't deserve anything approaching a happy ending, and why Ricky must have been mad to think being with him was the best thing for her and Casey. Did he even bother to tell Cash he expected him to be there to hold his hand, or did he just assume? It feels like he's incapable of getting through a scene without being a terrible parent to Casey, either lying to him or bullying him or both, and a trip to the coast isn't really enough to make up for it. Nice continuity with the reference to Morrell, who I think was the one that looked like Haydn Ross.

Having Marilyn be her usual unpleasant self to John is enough to get me sympathising with him, but yeah, it sounds like he was at fault. I can understand him not wanting to bother Justin and Leah given all they had going on at the time, but that only works if you fix the problem yourself and he didn't. I'm reminded that Justin wanted to buy the building and John insisted they do it together, which makes him even more culpable.

Dana seems to have got Sonny out of his latest downer, and it looks like there's no doubt now that he does occasionally move his leg. Nice that John now knows about Remi's tumour and a brief callback to his own brush with that one.

That I thought was disappointing with Tane just returning makes the whole Brax thing seem abit pointless maybe someone in the crew wanted a holiday?

Mali yes Abby did wrong but shouldn’t you be supporting her just a tiny bit his quite the fool I think 

 

And the first thing Tane and Jo do when they come home is none other than have sex because yes of course you would

Surgery like Remi had has moved on a lot since brain surgery was first done you know.  The instruments used can  be a lot more focused, if that is the right word, so the whole head doesn't have to be shaved just where it needs to be drilled into.

As you said I  suppose TPTB had to get their money's worth out of them, just a few days wouldn't have got got them much.  It seems from what we saw/heard Brax hasn't got the clout he used to have trying to round up any of the old gang to speak up out him or help. 

Cash, obviously, thought he would be there, he didn't know he'd dragged off to the city to face a disciplinary hearing at such notice.  Speaking of which he did get off lightly and it was David who put in a good word for him.  If Cash had been there mayhap he could have allayed John nosing about.  As it was he had to think on his feet by saying it as the Real Estate people who were looking after it.  

I had the remembrance Justin and John were partners but wasn't that just  the garage? 

Would have been a real relief to Sonny that Dana also saw his left foot move.  It was his right one last time so even more hope he'll recover. 

How does Cash going to pick up Brax come under his duties of doing paperwork and making coffee?  I'm supposing he didn't have much choice with John pecking his head about these strangers living  in Tane's house, he would have taken it to David. 

There is something that is gong to happen next week, so I've  read in my TV mag, that'll make you  and  , but as I don't put up spoilers saying nuffin more.

Oh sure surgery has moved on, but the other silly thing was when we actually saw the op the doc was operating on the back of his head, yet the incision is on the side.  And no, wasn't shaved at all from the looks of it.

Surprising amount going on in that episode, with Cash back, Remi and Sonny making progressive with their respective medical dramas... Lacey deciding not to do the Coastal News article is probably best for her. Even if she could trust them not to misrepresent her, as Justin said a while back, she could do without her life being news for a bit. And I'm glad Eden and Abigail have finally been let it on Mackenzie's pregnancy after spending last week caught up in their own dramas.

It's slightly annoying that Brax casts a long shadow even over an episode he isn't in. I would not care at all if John broke his cover, it's ridiculous that he's hiding out instead of just doing what he came there to do anyway.

There was a lot going on.

Brax did have his good side, he befriended VJ , teaching him to surf I think  or was it bike riding?  I seem to remember his helping VjJ with his bike. Btw did he live where  Cash and Eden now live? He did point it out to Casey.

Wise words from David to Lacey as to whether she should talk to Coastal News about her experience and how she felt the legal system had let her down. Maybe she needs time to ingest it and when she's ready contact them later. 

Good that Eden and Abby now know about Mac and Levi's news, I know that now she's passed the 12 week period it's safe, but not wanting to bring doom on it, there is still a long way to go. 

Great news for Sonny and  Dana last night.   We saw Levi examine Remi as he was so insistent he didn't want to go hospital but as Levi said every case is different, he just needs to pace himself. 

Cash and Brax played it out very cleverly, I don't think David caught on.  John will be doing his neighbourly thing in regards to Ricky and Casey.  The name Braxton wouldn't ring any bells with him as  Brax's RB's were back in 2011 and kind of disbanded when Brax went on the run 10 years ago.

Justin seems to be in a bit of an existential crisis as he contemplates unemployment.Leah was well-meaning but didn't really make any progress and Justin going out to do a job is probably going to do more for his self-worth than looking at places that are no use to him.

Harper's back then. I found Dana a bit rude in the way she ordered her out of the house so she could "get creative" with Sonny.Marilyn paying a visit to Harper and saying it's hard being a single mother had me going "Too hard for you, huh?" (No, I'm not going to forget that one, even though the show probably wants me to.)

I guess Cash's restricted duties is more than the office work that David claimed last episode then, if he can go and investigate a "neighbourhood disturbance". I had to shake my head at Brax insisting he hadn't done anything bad. He might not have ever killed anyone but he's done pretty much everything else.It was nice to see John with Ricky and Casey again although it quickly turned into another example of Brax and Ricky being terrible parents who are incapable of giving their son a truthful answer. Ricky thinking John's still with Marilyn really does show how long they've been away. Her claiming they were always better off as friends feels more like an editorial mandate than something that felt in character. Was that an "Aren't you dead?" look on John's face when he saw Brax? Guess we're glossing over that one!
