Fair play to Mali. After his behaviour in the previous episode, we might expect him to explode but instead he was calm and reasonable about it. And to be frank, he's spot on: Abigail's intentions were good but it wasn't her place to plaster Lacey's face and story all over the papers so she can convince herself she's doing something, and it's frustrating that Abigail doesn't seem to get it. Leah is increasingly feeling like a surrogate mother figure to Lacey, which is nice to see.

We finally get some answers to the confusion about Brax then, as it seems those running the show looked at his exit and realised that not being a murderer doesn't mean all the crimes Brax actually committed just disappear. (Do the authorities know he isn't dead though?) It really doesn't say much for Ricky though. It was bad enough that she went running back to Brax after previously refusing to go into hiding with him and wanting a better life for herself and Casey, but now I guess we have to assume that shortly after they drove off into the sunset he went "By the way, that free man thing? Well, I have been cleared of murder but we have to go into hiding anyway." So my sympathy for her here is about nil.

It does feel a bit odd for Roo to make her first appearance of the year when they clearly don't have anything for her to do, so she's just hanging around the Diner and Salt.

It’s true, what exactly keeps her coming back to Summer Bay other than Georgie Parker’s contract? When Alf’s in town it makes sense, when he’s not, I guess she’s there to take care of his businesses.

Can Roo not do her Surf Club secretary work remotely? She always seems to have a lot to catch up on when she returns, which makes you wonder how long her tasks can wait.

Technically Summer Bay House  is her home !.

I don’t have problem with Roo coming and going bit .

David hasn't lost the plot, Eden is Cash's wife so of course she'd be the one he and or any  cop would go to first.  Eden didn't help herself by refusing to go when David first asked her to to come to the station and answer some questions, it would, if we didn't know any better, look like  she had something to hide.

I did have to smile when David kept insisting Cash had 'taken' Jo with him. Jo did ring her dad, but did he have the forethought to track where  it was made from?  Anyways they, Cash, Tane and Jo are coming home now.   Technically Cash was on holiday so could he be charged with anything?  He did go there to bring Tane back.

Abby couldn't have known Coastal News would splash Lacey's picture on the front page and making her out to be some sort of crazed killer.  Leah is showing her good side by standing by Lacey.

How handy that Brax was putting his shirt on just  when  Cash was standing by so he saw his blood and sand tatt.  Typical of course Brax  hadn't read that text Ricky sent him or her messages so he didn't know what was going down until he got home.

That is a good legal point that although he was  proved  innocent of murder  Brax was at the time guilty when he made his escape so would he have to do time?

Episode count this week:Things go a bit nuts again with Tane, Cash, Jo and guests Brax and Ricky all appearing in four episodes.

I found that all a bit dull: The big climax of Cash blocking Tane's escape comes about halfway through, but they have to drag out getting everyone back to Summer Bay for the interesting stuff for the rest of the episode. It doesn't help that I didn't care about many of the people involved, with the show seemingly having regressed to 2013 and going "Oh no, Brax and Ricky might actually have to face the consequences of their actions, how terrible!" At least we got Cash facing Brax down when he tried to play the big man. I didn't have much sympathy for Tane either and he deserved that punch.

David is a complete joke now. He can't find Tane or Cash, so he arrests Eden (whilst completely failing to clock who actually aided Tane). I bet there'll still be people insisting David is a good cop who follows the rules (I rolled my eyes at one Oz pace fan insisting people only think David's wrong because Cash is good looking), when this episode makes it clear that he's a petty tyrant who abuses his position for a personal agenda. He's rightly denied a warrant for surveillance based on little more than his grown-up daughter going away, and the fact she actually rings him and says he's okay makes it clear that it's mainly about him not liking his authority and bullboy attitude being questioned. He's got no evidence Eden has committed a crime. He's got no evidence a crime has been committed. But he's determined to throw his weight around like a frustrated alpha male and Eden's the best target he can find.

Has there been a crime in the Bay since David arrived that didn’t involve his daughters? He wants everything at his station to be by the book, but he should really distance himself from anything involving them if he wants that to be the case.

The scenery in WA really does show up Summer Bay, it’d look better without Brax & Ricky though.

It’s not very often that you find the show rubbish is it? I’m struggling even with Brax back probably because of Tane who haven’t really cared about for ages now

But then again I'm one of the few fans who actually enjoys Tane & Jo together.

Oh no, I do too, I think despite what a lot of other people say, they have good chemistry and feel like a good match and hope they end up being a long-term couple. It's just a shame that their current storyline is deeply deeply stupid and involves dragging in characters who were pretty unlikable the first time round and still are.

I have said before and and I know it's probably  boring for some to keep hearing it BUT David doesn't know who helped Tane get away.  Why would he even consider Mac?  A suspects wife/husband would always be the  first person the police would go to. Yes I know Cash isn't a suspect but he's a cop who gone off to do his own thing, as Cash is well known for doing before now.  Eden, quite truthfully, doesn't know where Cash is which would seem odd seeing as he's  just 'gone camping'.   It was odd at the station though,  David arrested Eden in front of Leah and Justin but once at the nick, no video interview held, just as if she'd come and and was giving an informal interview which after many, many times her saying she didn't know where Cash was she was allowed to leave.

I'm probably not in your good books then Red as I'm on David's side as being a good guy.  He may want to stick to the rules and follow protocol/procedures but   as I just said, Cash has gone off piste at times which could jeopardise any court case that could arise.  He may well have have been on 'holiday' when he took off after Tane but the fact he's a friend/brother-in-law to someone who skipped bail and gone on the run,  would he have done that if it had been someone else, in fact you could say, he's just like David in that way, looking after family/friends.   As David very rightly said to the DPP guy it was the courts who let Holden out on bail after  he breached his AVO moments after it been issued to him and resisted arrest which let his daughter  down and other women like her. Cops must get really pissed when courts do that and they get the blame.

Brax never had  a good relationship with cops apart from Charlie of course so naturally he wasn't keen to learn Cash was not only  a friend of  Tane's but  a cop too.   Even if Cash may not have a job when he gets back he did tell Brax he'd look into whether he'd still be facing a charge of being an escapee from 10 years  ago.
