She was expecting a baby when she returned for the fridge episodes. They didn't really bring main characters back in the era when Nicolle left, so perhaps the thinking was "When you're gone, you're gone". Hindsight, of course, suggests it wasn't the cleverest of moves. We saw afterwards how they successfully brought Steven and Marilyn back into the main cast, and gave returning characters like Haydn and Damien good guest stories. Nicolle might also have wanted to leave Bobby far behind, in the hope that she might become a working actor. I could have sworn she and hubby James had at least one kid by the time she left. cymbaline Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/books/home-and-aways-bobby-my-perfect-wedding-29583/ This article is from 2015. At that time, her sons were reported as being 19 and 17. That would make the oldest son a 1995 or 1996 birth. I don't remember her being visibly pregnant while she was playing Bobby. Quote
Dan F Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Nicolle did mention in her exit interviews that they hadn't yet started a family, and pondered whether 'this could be the year'. She was heavily pregnant with her first child when filming the fridge episodes in 1995, hence why we only saw the top half of her. 2 Quote

I think in hindsight for the character and those connected to her it probably was the best thing. Bobby’s death informed Sam & Fisher for the rest of their time in the bay, and her absence was always felt in the reunions for Sally’s life events in a way that some of the others weren’t 1 Quote

It always felt like a pointless death and maybe that in itself made it resonate more. Edited 45 minutes ago by cymbaline Quote
