Ben Frow to leave Channel 5

[James Martin]

He's the man who cancelled Neighbours and slowly axed Home & Away from the main channel, first the evening showing and then last year the lunchtime showing was axed to make way for, er, Vanessa.  Which has also been canned.

Thankfully Ben Frow is leaving Channel 5 next year.  I can't say I'm going to miss him; the network's treatment of Home & Away since the Pandemic has been appalling, so much so that if ITV somehow bought Channel 5 out of their lifetime deal and took the show back, even if only to ITV2, I actually wouldn't be sorry.

I'm not exactly celebrating this but it will be interesting to see if it has any effect on Home and Away.

Doubt it will since he's not going until the end of 2027 so everyone will have forgotten by then that H&A was even on 5.

And since when has 5 been owned by Warner or Paramount?

I do quite like Paramount has some good movies and shows

Well at least while H&A gets made Channel 5 has it for a lifetime contract

In a nutshell - Viacom (who also owned Paramount) bought Channel 5 in 2014, that later became ViacomCBS, and then the whole company adopted the Paramount name in 2022.

Huh, that long ago.
