Why is this character so universally hated as I always like his character and sure he bends  rules here and there but want cop hadn’t in last 20 years since Jack Holden and feels that just because he isn’t younger good looking character he doesn’t deserve free pass and feels like David is given witch hunt by fans and can’t say i understand why he deserves it or dislike as David not capable on walking on water .

But older characters always seemed to dislike as remember years ago Gina wasn’t very popular character when she simply was just struggling single mother to severe disabled child witch what made her sterner then other mother characters  and this reminds me lot with David and even though David children both grow he up struggle with being only parent like Gina did .

No parent is perfect and even Pippa was criticised for being bad parent during 7two around 1994 episodes repeats and someone pointed out Pippa was never capable of walking on water and that’s exactly same with David and Gina for that matter.

I personally think a lot of it is because people claimed he had it in for Tane over the whole drugs in his child's bedroom storyline earlier this year. Tane is the new Brax, where some people, (I'm not singling anyone out on these forums), refuse to hear anything bad about him and want the show to revolve around him.

I think it's mainly on here that he is hated by a few, it's a bit of an echo chamber sometimes (and people pile on you), but on Facebook, instagram, tiktok and other forums he's extremely popular and loved. Outside of this echo chamber here everywhere on several different social media all I see is love for David and people hoping he and Amelia get together. It's like he's a breakout star character. Watched on and off since the pilot episode - I've never seen such a frenzy over a character before. I think some simply become bitter when a character becomes too popular, and don't 'get it'. I was the same with Brax/Ricky. They got on my nerves purely because everyone else seemed to love them.

It’s mostly on here, most places he is well loved, I think he is great one of my favourite characters. I like all of the Langham family, I think they are a great fit in the Bay

I definitely understand why some people might not like him but He's certainly not as unpopular as some people here like to think.They're just very loud with their opinion.The fact that He lives in Irene's house doesn't help.I also would have preferred someone in her family live there instead of some randoms but it is what it is.The hypocrisy flag is waved over his head like Jack Holden and Colby Thorne never existed.Heaven forbid He have lunch in his office with his girls instead of plant drugs and murder people.

I've really liked his current story with Amelia and how hard the grieving process is and when is the right time to move on.It's complex,mess and real.

David is ok but not that interesting run of the mill character really I liked Dylan Carter much more
