cymbaline Posted Sunday at 12:58 Report Posted Sunday at 12:58 I don't think they care either. I wonder will they even mention her when the time comes for Ray to retire? The question of Morag not being killed off in Summer Bay lore has brought a different question to my mind. Are there any characters whose fates were left unresolved? Will Smith is the first one that comes to my mind. Quote

Hyde's probably been long since released too. Quote

adam436 Posted Monday at 19:31 Report Posted Monday at 19:31 I always hoped they might have reintroduced Jesse for a guest stint while Olivia was on the show, but I think Ben Unwin had completely left the acting world behind him at that point. Will could be interesting for a return stint now after what went down with him and Alf (it would hav worked better with Irene still around though!), though the current writers would probably ruin him further rather than redeem him. 1 Quote
Light of the Bay Posted Tuesday at 17:14 Report Posted Tuesday at 17:14 Hi all, I have noticed there is a Neighbours Classics channel on YouTube and they seem to be in the process of uploading entire seasons. Is there anyone we can contact at 7 as if Neighbours can do this, why not Home and Away. As years have gone by, I feel like there are episodes I still remember from so long ago that will never see the light of day again. I also note ITVX have classic episodes of Coronation Street that are being added to regularly. Quote

Channel 4 also have whole seasons of Hollyoaks from the early 2010s onwards, as well their "Favourites". H&A just have the one FAST channel of classic episodes, which is heavily skewed to the last 10 years or so anyway. It's a shame, as the demand is clearly there from fans, and if other networks/shows have the capability, then surely 7 would too. 2 Quote
Old H&A Fan Posted Tuesday at 22:04 Report Posted Tuesday at 22:04 It's an ongoing mystery, like the $64m dollar question, as to the official reason why the early episodes (1988–c.2000) won't see the light of day (especially post-1880 (1996)). Following the disappearance in 2017 of Home And Away: The Early Years from 7TWO in 2017, Dan F, with the pressure of fans in the BTTB forums here, asked the Seven hierarchy, what was going on when they stopped at Episode 1880. Angus Ross from the Seven Network told Dan F, as documented here, that contractual arrangements changed with the batch of episodes following 1880, which dubiously meant that the number of "plays" allowed, was reached, whatever that means. They couldn't afford to show any more because that would incur huge costs (how that strange system of printing money works, defies my understanding). For a period in 2023–24, all of the 1988 episodes (0–228) were available on-demand. But that lasted only 3 months. A lot on the forums here speculate that they want to forget that the early episodes happened or existed. 2 Quote
adam436 Posted Wednesday at 06:11 Report Posted Wednesday at 06:11 I don't understand the legality, but the earlier seasons have been shown a few times now. Once in the late nineties (I stopped not long after the Pippa recast, so I'm not sure how long it kept going before it stopped?),, then again from 2009-2017 and then the 1988 season again over the summer a few years break. The contractual reasons would have possibly coicnided with the end of 1995 filming season? I would have thought the early years of H&A would be more popular than other shows 7Plus has or had in the past, like the entire run of Sons and Daughters, and short-lived/forgettable dramas like Big Sky and Echo Point. 1 Quote

Though ITV are selective with classics and mislabel things. 1379 of Emmerdale (Farm) is labelled Jackie's funeral but it's the aftermath of his accidental shooting and Seth finding his body and Joe and Kathy ID him at the end of the ep. They also the preceeding ep up for the 50th anniversary but removed it and others. Quote
