How far is Aus behind the UK?

How long is the usual break between seasons?

As far as I know, they are about 6 months behind Australia. Please say so if I'm wrong.

Australia started the break between 2004 and 2005 on the 25th of November, and will not start until Jenuar the 16th, 2006.

So the UK catches up a little with every break, is that right?

I think we are about 6 months behind ish.

Although we're going to catch up by about 1 and half months because of the Aus break.

So we should see the 2006 opener in April? We saw the 05 opener in June.

At the moment we are about five-and-a-half months behind Oz, and we usually catch up between six-to-eight weeks at each end-of-season.

The gap in Oz is usually six weeks (this year it is seven weeks). Oz also has a two-week break for Olympics every four years.

The 2006 season will begin on Five on Monday, May 15th, so we will then be only four months behind the Aussies!

And how far is what's filmed behind what's aired in Aus? Do the cast & crew use a little of the break to get ahead?

I think I've read 6 weeks, but I'm not sure.

As far as I know, H&A is filmed about eight weeks ahead of transmission (Dan F can probably confirm/correct this). The cast and crew take a break while H&A is off the air for Summer, so the first eigth weeks or so of the new season will have been filmed before the Christmas break.

Oh, I thought it may be that cast & crew get 6 weeks & the airing break may be 2 months; that would seem sensible & fair.
