Don's first house is still around as far as we know. Unless it sunk *after* Meg and Julia Bowman lived there. His third house is also still there as far as we know. There was a house Grant Mitchell stayed in that was very much like the original beach house. Judith's house and Angie's house (though I think that was the same set just re-arranged) are still around too. The original Bayside Diner is still there (it was only a small fire in the kitchen), as is Morag's Mansion. So... lots of opportunities

You are sort of wrong.

Sally, Shauna, Charlotte etc all lived in the same house as the Hunter's did.

Charlotte and her gran lived above the Lawson's for a short while in what was basically the same set with the furnishings moved around a bit to make it look different the two times we saw it.

^OK thanks. I just remember seeing something in a clip that looked different. But that was before the Fletcher/Saunders had their extension.

I thought that structural damage was found after the fire which is why Alf & Ailsa had to look for a new location and Leah in a bid to make up with Alf & Ailsa after the fire which they thought to be her fault (despite it being Colleen who caused it) found the new location which solved all their problems as they were homeless at the time.

I find it weird that Tasha and Robbie live in the flat they do though!!!!! Ok so its because they have money, but Tasha's weirdness could easily be encorporated into the palace.

Because Tasha owns it. Josie gave it to her. She had tenants in it for a while, then when she and Rob wanted to move in she kicked them out (with not much notice - I would have asserted my rights!) and now they live there rent free.

I think what emzyflower means is that from a character point of view, the Palace would have suited Tasha's character better than a standard old flat.

I can see Robbie and Tasha living there with Martha and Jack, but it would be wrong as that's where Dani and Scott happened and Noah and Hayley lived. It would be too wierd to see other characters in there. But Josie/Tasha/Amanda/Robbie/Scott flat is obviously the new Palace.
