ste Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Some of the stuff that was lying around in the background of the Palace was cool, but in general it was one of the worst sets ever. Dan Bennett clearly couldn't wait to get rid of it either as it was gone almost as soon as he took over the show.
Ashirr-Leigh Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I really liked it! I thought it suited artist Hayley very well. That's the only aspect of Hayley's character which makes her a little wacky and out there.. the rest of her is pretty conventional. That part of her character was really played up due to the Palace.
claire_louise Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 ^ Lol yeah, and it's been completely forgotten about now. Yet another way her character has been ruined! Does anyone know if they mention Hayley's art again, particularly when Ella takes over? If not it will be like that side of her never existed, what with a new person playing her and all. I used to like Hayley in the first few years, when she was into grafitti and she did the illustrations for Don's book.
MarMar Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 I think Ella's Hayley said something about finally being able to paint again, but don't take my word for it.
burr Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 That house was great - it was the one funky set on Home and Away.
Ashirr-Leigh Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 I loved artist Hayley! I hope she is mentioned again.
Tulip Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Some of the stuff that was lying around in the background of the Palace was cool, but in general it was one of the worst sets ever. I agree. I liked the surfboard hanging around at the back and I like the fact that they had about 3 doors! A lot of the sets have odd stuff if you look closely: Sally and Flynn had an odd statue when they lived in what is now the Hunters' house; there is a picture of a koala in the police station ; Leah has about a billion photos in her living room. Anyway that's a bit off the topic but perhaps the producers just thought it was a bit too associated with Noah, Hayley, etc. and that it wouldn't look right if someone else (e.g. Robbie 'n' Tash) took over.
claire_louise Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 I think Leah's photos are meant to emphasise her Greek-ness; as in, her family are the most important thing to her and there are lots of them!

As much as I loved The Palace (my favourite set) bringing it back would be totally wrong as it was very much Noah/Hayley's place and that's part of what made it great.
