Ric and Maddie

I loved the flirtatious behavior between Cassie and Ric before they got together and how Cassie could always wrap Ric around her little finger. Maddie and Ric had similar chemistry at one point, but I feel it has been lost. I think that the chemistry is still there between Ric and Cassie, but needs to be explored more before it fades.

I think the chemistry is still there too, just that it's not appropriate for them to be showing it all the time right now with the current storylines in the Uk. One of their best friends had gone missing so they're not exactly in the mood for little kisses here and there. They just need a bit of comfort from each other and I think they get that just from being together. Or did before Cassie got a little bit jealous - she has a right to though, I think!

See Ric's face when Matilda turned towards him and they nearly kissed. Still....this could just have been Ric feeling awkward about that moment..but when Ric was outside the hospital room talking to Cassie...he still seemed edgy about that moment.

I thought Matilda might have smiled when hearing how awkward Ric was outside the room...but she was looking as if to say...oh god..glad that never happened. It's not what I would have expected to see from someone that fancies someone else.

And anyway....Matilda still doesn't know the full story of why Ric dumped her for. She probably still thinks he dumped her because he wasn't that keen on her at one point. I WOULD rather see Ric being happy and in love with someone than being stuck in a relationship purely because he has a strong friendship between them.

It does look like it could turn out to be something special though...certainly on Ric's part though. He looked like he was going insane all the way through Matilda being missing. But still....I suppose this could be because of a strong friendship as well. I guess we'll just have to watch the relationship develop...if there is going to be one that is.

They do have romantic feelings for each other @ this point, but when Ric confronts Matilda next week, she tells him he's only protective of her because they have a bond, almost like brother & sister, but we get the feeling she doesn't mean it & she would really love to be with Ric herself, she just doesn't want to hurt anyone. The chemistry eventually does go between them & he's happy with Cassie, but you never know, one day the Script Writers might get their acts together & they could end up getting married, if they're in it long enough & all their relationships go wrong, they could find their way back to each other, like it was in the beginning, there was a big attraction between them & if Matilda wasn't so nervous, she could be in a relationship with him now, rather than Cassie.

The reason Matilda didn't look happy when they nearly kissed is because Ric is with Cassie and Cassie is one of her best friends. Matilda isn't a bad person - she may have feelings for Ric but she wouldn't act on them if it meant hurting Cassie. I really wanted MR to get together at first, then when Cassie arrived I thought she and Ric also had great chemistry, just in a different way. MR have a heartfelt, caring relationship, whereas RC's is more fun. I'm not sure which I prefer...I think it's a waste if MR's relationship is never explored any further.

Well, I can tell you that (after researching this back in the summer), Maddie and Ric don't end up together, as yet. The Holdens join H&A soonish in the UK, and Maddie and Lucas end up together. It's nice to see Maddie happy with a guy finally, but I know I'd love to see her and Ric together. I think there was a topic similar to this a few months back, so maybe this should go there or get this closed or something. Will try and dig it out for you

I think Ric & Matilda could have a really passionate relationship & i really hope that can one day be explored, but for now, they are in totally different directions. Ric gets a new girlfriend in 2006, Amanda's not so dead daughter, Belle. Not sure how things end between him & Cassie or why.

For now, I'm happy with Ric and Cassie being together. It would hurt too many people for Matilda to try and move in on Ric right now and, like others have said, she gets her own boyfriend soon. I can definitely see why people want them to be a couple though, but just, personally, I prefer Cassie and Ric.

I see their relationship as more of one shared by people who are in love with each other in a boyfriend/girlfriend kind of way.. whereas Ric and Matilda are more like brother and sister, Ric is immensely protective of her and I don't think that would work if they were going out.

Why not? My fiance is very protective of me too, if you really care about someone and love someone then you will do everything you can to protect them.

I think that Ric has always been a bit in love with Matilda, but he put his feelings to one side because it was causing too much trouble. He does have genuine feelings for Cassie, but I think he's following a certain part of his anatomy that isn't his heart where she's concerned. I guess it all depends on the way things pan out - when Lucas and Matty get together we might all really like them and want them to stay together - but at the moment I'd like to see Matilda and Ric end up as a couple eventually (just not yet).
