MarMar Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Yay! Can't wait to see! Did you get pictures of the finished Mario?
Elise Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Yeah, I did! I have one more photo of the zoo to upload, and I'll upload the finished mario. Only problem was, when they fired the paint on, the red colour on the hat ran on the back, so it looks like he got stabbed in the back. Apart from that, it turned out well.
Elise Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Ok, first I'll post the piccies of the zoo, while I'm waiting for Mario to upload..... Bison.. Camel... Giraffe.. Rhino.. Zebra... Meerkat.. Cheeta (he wouldn't look our way...) Hippo... Lion 1.... Lion 2 (just woke up from nap) Monkey! I'll post Mario when they are uploaded.
MarMar Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Wow! Great photos! I haven't been to a zoo in years - not really a fan of'em. A stabbed Mario sounds like fun, though
Elise Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Thanks! I'm especially proud of the Zebra! I was really disappointed with it, but here it is.....
MarMar Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 I'm sorry it didn't turn out like you had hopes I still thinks it looks good and way better than anything I could do
Elise Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Thanks Chicky! I am really disappointed by it, but in my defense, it was lead based paint and it came out white and really thick, so it was hard to paint, and with the extreme heat of the firing process, it melted and ran. But I am happy I was actually able to make it. I can't even make a pinch pot without it looking like a total disaster!
Elise Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 This is what it looked like before firing.... And after firing...
Mez83 Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 It sucks that he didn't turn out how you'd hoped, but I still think he looks fantastic! I'd never be able to do anything like that. I don't have a creative bone in my body. I love the photo's of the zoo. The hippo's my favorite. Closely followed by the monkey.
Elise Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 The monkey was awesome! I loved the Hippo, mainly because that was like the only time he faced us, the Giraffe, as I like them, the Zebra, because that shot was the closest, since he got close to the bus we were on, and the Meerkat. I'm like you Mez, not a single creative bone in my body. So if I could manage to make something like that (even though it stuffed up) then anyone could.
