Oxidizer Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 All of those pictures are really beautiful and artistic. Loves!
Elise Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Nice! The edit made it easier to see the lighting. What did you do? Alter the levels? I altered them a bit, but then clicked 'auto colour' and seemed to do the trick! Waiting eagerly for the next storm to come along, really test it out. The reason it was so pink, is becuase it was at my front yard facing south, but there was a street-light to the left of me, and since the exposure was set to 10 seconds, that glow from the light came through as pink. Next storm I will actually go further up north, as it is all paddocks there and no street lights, and see what I get. Love the above photo! I will have to do upload a few more weather photos from Sunday and post them here this afternoon.
flutterby Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 V. impressed you managed to capture the lightening elise...looking forward to seeing more
Elise Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Thanks! It requires patience and a lot of luck! But highly rewarding! When the next storm starts firing, I'll make sure I'm as far away from street lights as possible, the effects are amazing!!! Anyways, here are some more photos, This one is the first photo I took on the 400D... And a couple of the clouds a couple of hours before the storm hit. I'll post some sunset photos when I get home from work, as I cannot log into imageshack from work for some reason.....
Elise Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Thanks! I am really fascinated by the weather, and those clouds seemed really photogenic, so thought, why not! This thread will probably feature more weather and landscapes than anything else really.
Elise Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Click on the pictures for full size From today's storms and snowy weather..... Went over to Doncaster Shoppingtown on my lunch break and took some photos of the cell to my west. This is from my desk at work.... and from my work's function centre....
MarMar Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 The rest from the same concert can be found here
Elise Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Those photo's are awesome! I'm suprised they allowed you to bring your SLR camera in! I want to bring mine to Big Day Out in January, but we are not allowed to bring 'professional' cameras and video cameras in. And since my DSLR is classed as a 'professional' camera, I can't bring it or my video cam. Besides, I'd be too scared it might drop in the mosh pit. ;) I love the colours in the photos, and they are so crisp! I'm betting you were front row centre? Also, what were the settings you used for them??? Just curious.
MarMar Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Well, we never had a problem getting the camera in in Germany, except for the crappy city of Magdeburg. Some unknown small, German band were also going to warm up for the Crüxshadows and apparently they "don't like cameras" - Had to get Jessica, dancer and tour manager, for the band to explain to them that we were not there for the crappy band, but for Ego Likeness and the Crüxshadows, who we know more or less personally (one of the girls we travelled with really knows them, I'm getting to as I have a friend who's now in the band), and eventually they let us in. As you know, the camera's a Nikon d50, lens is 18-55mm - shutter speed to 8 and f-number to 4.5
