I was, I suppose, brought up as a Catholic, but not a practising Catholic, not now anyway. I've been baptised and confirmed, made my Communion etc.. as have my whole family but we don't go to church anymore.

At times, I suppose it doesn't really mean much to me to be a Catholic. Well, it adds Colette somewhere into my name! :P But then, when I think about it, it actually does, even if I don't go to church and properly practise it.

I went to a very religious Presbetarian high school. We had church 3 times a week and twice a year we had a compulsary church service on a sunday night.

I'm staying in... all night... bliss! Student blife is finally starting to take it's toll... have had between 2 and 5 hours sleep the past few nights... I wouldn't have missed the nights out for the world (I'm now in full agreement that days as a student are the best days of your life), but it hasn't exactly done me the world of good *looks into mirror* *shudders*

Night in with the law textbooks it is, then... Been seriously neglecting those babies recently...

As for the religion thing - I'm Christian (CoE)... I'm not a hardcore religionist (a word?) and only attend church a couple of times a year, but I believe - which, I guess, is the main thing.

Both my primary school and high school are Catholic but they're not exclusively Catholic so it's not like we're forced to attend lots of services and things. The majority (only by a little though) are probably Catholic but there are alot of Muslims and other religions. We have services only on special saint days and things. But yeah, like Claire, the main thing is that I believe something.

I don't believe in alot of the Catholic church's teachings though. For example.. my RE teacher tries to teach my class that if your husband abuses you then you must stay with him because your marriage is binding under the Lord. I also don't agree with their rules on contraception - their teachings are killing alot of people in Africa.

Anyhoo.. that's my wee rant over! :)
