Oxidizer Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Claire would have been a muuuuuuch better secret lover for the Stalker. Someone really should write a fic about that You never know, someone might already have one half finished. But I totally get what you mean though, if Claire was the accomplice it would've explain a lot as to how Zoe survived the factory explosion and covered it up etc.
~Lynd~ Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Yes well there is the hottness factor of Drew and Ric to Andy...which of course you'd know all about!
emmasi Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 And what? Lucas and his special friend who's name start's with D but isn't Drew (although...) wouldn't be hot!?
Oxidizer Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 YL I thought you'd mention Lucas/Dean sooner or later, Em. Speaking of guys n' guys, what was Charlie's deal? I want them to do a Sarah Lewis and break him out (maybe without the exception of a psychotic doctor helping him who'd later terrorise the town).
Pierced Musie Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Oh im so glad there are no gays in home and away. I dont want to watch them camp it up at tea time. its unhealthy. You really think that every gay person is camp? You have lived a very sheltered life, my friend. Unhealthy? Maybe. Fascinating? Hell Yeah!
burr Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I think the main problem is that soaps are all about connections between people, usually romantic connections, so a gay character would have less possible interaction with the other characters. This is probably why even when a gay character is introduced, he or she doesn't stay around very long. I would introduce a male gay couple with a straight teenage child who would be the main link with the community, while the gay characters would also have working links (as teacher, policeman, doctor for example). Being in a stable relationship, they'd be good role models for gay teens. They could follow the Bay tradition and acquire another child or two along the way! Both Irene and Leah have had gay friends in the past, and Sally has a gay brother, so I think they would be readily accepted by the core adults. The first part of that post is absolutely true and the second part is the best idea in ages. I think Lucas has so much potential to at least explore the possibility he may be gay. I was hoping for Ric and still think that would be awesome but I’ve given up on that as it’s clearly not going to happen. But Lucas…it’s clear this thing with Belle won’t last, Matilda is happily ensconced with Ric and e.one loves that pairing so it’s not like there’s any girl he has to go with. Added to that is the fact that all his relationships with girls thus far have given off a very strong friendship vibe. They can bring some hot young man in, Luc can have an off-screen tryst, on screen it can be all anguished uncertainty and furtive glances and maybe Jack can be exposed as a bit of a homophobe (influenced by the whole macho cop culture) who has trouble accepting his bro may be gay.
emmasi Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Still waiting on Dean and Luke. Ooh they'd even have a cool pairing name: Duke ... or Lean...
burr Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Nah, Dean was cute with Gareth. Plus I have visions of them all happy together in Sydney I want Luc to be swept off his feet by someone openly and unashamedly gay; Dean's still coming to terms with his queer leanings. This dude needs to shake the whole bay up, rub Alf, Colleen etc up the wrong way and ruthlessly pursue Lucas who will be unable to resist.
emmasi Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Gareth instead of Dean ? He seemed comfortable with himself and also willing to relentlessly pursue things. Plus, from memory, I think he was more attractive than Dean... Drew should turn gay to rebel against Peter's girlfriend stealing, and he should hit on Lucas, but eventually Drew realises that pretending to be gay doesn't make him gay and breaks it off... whereas Lucas realises that he really is gay and now he's on his own...
Pierced Musie Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Am I the only one who feels that Drew could turn out to be bi? It just wouldn't suprise me at all .
