Pierced Musie Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 ... If only they would have a bisexual character. It would be so much easier to write

Pierced Musie Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 ... They should so bring a character in like Shane from The L Word. With Lucas & Drew mistaking the character as a he but it is really a she... who enchants every girl & boy.
Robina Fox Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I think the main problem is that soaps are all about connections between people, usually romantic connections, so a gay character would have less possible interaction with the other characters. This is probably why even when a gay character is introduced, he or she doesn't stay around very long. I would introduce a male gay couple with a straight teenage child who would be the main link with the community, while the gay characters would also have working links (as teacher, policeman, doctor for example). Being in a stable relationship, they'd be good role models for gay teens. They could follow the Bay tradition and acquire another child or two along the way! Both Irene and Leah have had gay friends in the past, and Sally has a gay brother, so I think they would be readily accepted by the core adults.
danixxxicon Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Oh im so glad there are no gays in home and away. I dont want to watch them camp it up at tea time. its unhealthy.

I can't believe no one posted it before now. As for a bisexual character... well that'd be Sarah and/or Zoe, woulnd't it? Sarah loved Felix, but then she seduced Zoe as well. So... if you ask me, she's straight, but happy to act gay to get what she wants. Zoe on the other hand, I reckon she's in denial about Kim. I reckon she was in lurrrrve with that boy, but he betrayed her, so she tells herself that it doesn't matter because she's 100% lesbian anyway. Sure ya are kid. I haven't given up on Lucas. Sometime soon, methinks that some nice young boy will declare his intentions, and then... well, Luc will be helpless against his charms...

(or not ), I reckon Tracey was definitely a lesbian though, she had that vibe about her.
~Lynd~ Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I'm going for Ric and Drew....surprised,lol...Sally/Dan and Pete all do or did have important jobs in the community so it'd cause a stir.

Sorry, that was mean... but you know she brings down the Peter/Zoe dynamic... Claire would have been a muuuuuuch better secret lover for the Stalker. Someone really should write a fic about that
