A gay character?

Ah, I see the topic title "A gay character" on the front page and I'm back to this thread within three seconds

I'm seriously surprised they haven't had a storyline like this yet, they have had a lot of other things just as "bad" or "worse". They did an incest storyline almost THREE YEARS ago for god's sake, two years ago a female character was drugged by a cult and raped by several cultmembers and during the last year we've had an abortion, pole dancing and a very questionable relationship between a teacher and a student that later ALSO involved his grieving father.

Oh well, we can handle that, but two boys kissing each other? No, can do!

Incest?! What? I must have somehow missed that one... who on earth was it??? I don't remember Tasha being raped by several cult members either, as far as I remember it was one cult member?

Totally agree with what you said about them being willing to show all of this during the day, but not thinking we could handle a full-time gay character.

I've just had a thought... how about a gay couple moving into the caravan park house? Lol. I know they'd NEVER do it, but it would be great. Leah and Martha could be quite interesting I think. Or they could bring back Gypsy and Angel, they'd go quite nicely together too me thinks...

Cassie's uncle sexually abused her and her youngr cousin as well, it was a storyline in 2005, when Joy died right after Cassie met Ric.

I think Tasha was raped by several members of the cult, cause everyone thought Jonah was Ella's faterh, including him, but then we found out that he couldn't be, so Tasha must have been raped by at least two of them.

It's really ambiguous now whether Jonah raped her or not, even though we know he's not the father. He was brainwashed with drugs by his adopted mother, which could be responsible for false memories. But even if he did,

it's fair to say that he was no more responsible for his actions that John Hall is for his.

Another near-incest storyline they had was Dylan and Kirsty, except it was later proven that they weren't related, much like the Oliver-Elle-Paul storyline. Also, they might have done something similar with Bobby and Alan before it was revealed that Don was her father.

And on the subject of gay characters: I think their best option would be to do their own version of Lana Crawford. In my recent experience, though, I think they'd more likely screw it up than Neighbours did. In almost every storyline that one has copied from the other, Neighbours did it better: Robert Robinson, Affirmacon, Rachel and Angus, Susan running over Bridget, and the paternity of Izzy's baby.

They should have a gay character as a regular on the show, its only right that there would be at least one gay in the village, or in their case the bay.

The storyline they did with Dean was good, dont know why they didnt keep him in but OMG his lad was a right minger!!

A hot gay lad would be nice...
