I get called it all the time... its nasty. Just because you watch H&A does'nt mean you are gay!!! I am 100% straight and i still love h&A. Anyway, no-one should be calling anyone gay, its not like gay people are aliens, they are just normal, like everybody else. Anybody who calls people gay are totally rubbish and have a sad life. Anyway , the people who call you gay for watching h&A secretly love it !! Its a bloody cool soap....its not like you are watching a live show from a gay bar!!!! Its just tv!!!!

Sorry for the rant..... I just had to get that out of my system!!!

If people call you gay, don't mind them, they are the horriable people at the end of the day! They must have watched h&A to know that they don't like so they are calling themselves gay ..... oh my god i should stop!

bye

Sorry for the rant above!!!

Yeah everyone in my class dont watch home and away because they think its crap and boring, they watch neighbours more then home and away, but I think Home and away should get the recognition it deserves, it is a very good soap, and I find it more interesting then neighbours, and other soaps. :)

And its the only soap with attractive actors, Im sorry but I rarely find anyone attractive in other soaps. :P

Home and Away is so unpopular here in the uk, because once I was chatting to some guys on the net and I gave a picture of tammin, Christie Hayes and Isabel Lucas and I said I was them and they were photos of me, they were so stupid they didnt even realise that they were Home and Away actors, and they actually wanted to go out with me  but I got caught once.:lol:

I really hate it when people are called "gay" because they do, say, or like certain things. It's ridiculous. I'm sure there are plenty of straight guys who like Home and Away, and plenty of gay guys who hate it. For goodness sake. I think that it is so ignorant to assume all gay men are the same, and do "gay" things like listen to Britney Spears and watch soaps. There are even some gay men who *gasps in horror* play rugby and have dirty finger nails, you know. If people say you are gay because you like Home and Away then they need to grow up and get an education. Men are gay if they like men, not if they like Home and Away! :)

Perfectly said!

There are so many stereotypes associated with being gay! Obviously, all stereotypes must stem from some sort of truth, but that doesn't mean they apply to everyone. For example, some people think that goths are miserable, or that all gay men like pop music and lesbians are hard with shaven heads. Obviously, some goths are miserable people who think that being moody is cool, others are bouncy people. Sure, lots of gay guys listen to stereotypical gay music like Britney Spears, Abba and various boybands and stuff, but there are plenty of gay guys who would rather listen to Metallica than Kylie! There may be a lot of lesbians who have shaven heads and look quite masculine, but there are some very feminine lesbians too, with... god forbid... long hair, makeup and dresses! :o

Not everyone can be cast into a stereotype!

I have to say that I've not encountered this problem, but I'm not going to have a go at people stereotyping, I'm the same with male hairdressers. I see Neighbours agreeed with me as well.

I've never known any guys who liked Home and Away. On the other hand, I've only ever had 1 female friend who watched it, so it's not exactly surprising. Two of my best friends are gay and neither of them watch it either.

Exactly!

I think this is almost more a problem with people using "gay" as an insult rather than people saying blokes who watch Home and Away are homosexual! My flatmate and I have wars with the others about Home and Away (one of my other flatmates is gay by the way). Often we have to record it because the others won't believe how good it is and refuse to watch it.
