Thats sad where did you find out that?

The creator of Desperate Housewives Marc Cherry is contracted to the network till 2013, and it is just unlikely it will go on past Season 9!

The show has had a great run, and I personally think that after Nine seasons it would be a good move to wrap it up .... I would like it to continue longer than that, but I feel that dragging out the show wouldn't be the best idea, because it would be great to go out on a high! Instead of it ending up like flogging a dead horse.

The show was unusually one of the only big ABC shows not to get an early renewal which was rather odd! At least we got the renewal in the end :P

Sorry I didn't see you post.

Um I found it in the NZ TV guide and for the last season they get about $480.000 a episode.

Did anyone in Aus watch the season finale on Thursday night? It was good. I loved how they went to a different house for each course of the dinner party.

I didn’t realise the most recent episode I saw was the season finale until the next week when it wasn’t on. They’ve started showing the season again on E4 in the mornings and personally I feel that the first half was better than the second half with the inclusion of Renee and Paul Young’s master plan. I will say that I did like the climax to the stuff with Paul Young and Felicia Tillman. It’s actually a shame Paul killed Felicia’s sister as I quite liked the scenes with Paul and Susan although at least Paul decided to own up and do the right thing. I’m glad Carlos found out about Andrew accidentally killing his mother although it was hardly surprising he wanted to disown Bree for covering it up (I think the thing that annoyed me the most about Bree was her level of hypocrisy, quite prepared to have Orson spend several years behind bars for nearly killing someone whilst completely protecting Andrew for actually killing someone). I suppose it was poetic justice Carlos killed the person who attacked Gabi when she was younger and Bree was the one who decided to help them try and cover it up...

I'm actually so incredibly sad that the upcoming 8th season has been confirmed as the last season of the show :( I really think the show could have gone on for another 2/3 years but I guess its good to give it an amazing sendoff whilst the show is still going strong because it'd be a real shame to let it just wither away. So in that sense I'm glad to say goodbye to it next year, I just hope they give the show the beautiful sendoff it deserves! It'll be real interesting to see how the endgame will pan out. I can see some people moving house in the end :( Oh I am getting emotional just thinking about it. I personally will find it really difficult to say goodbye to Wisteria Lane, its been a hell of a ride thats for sure!

From the finale last season and the start of this one, I found myself quite disgusted with Bree. She was the one who instigated the covering up of Alejandro's death and guilt tripped Susan into keeping quiet when she wanted out. I really don't like Gabi in all of this either but it's more understandable with her because Alejandro used to assault her when she was a kid and Carlos was just trying to protect her. I've never liked Lynette but haven't had too much of a problem with this particular storyline because at least she feels as though they've done the wrong thing. We don't really get anything like that from Bree or Gabi though. The only thing they appear to care about is getting away with it and they don't seem to care about the effect it is having on Susan. They wouldn't let her tell Mike but I'm glad she did eventually. I'm surprised how cold and calculated Bree has been about the whole thing. I lost all respect for her when she covered up Andrew killing Carlos's mother but wouldn't give her marriage with Orson another chance unless he turned himself into the police and fessed up to almost killing Mike which he did and ended up spending several years behind bars for. In all honesty Bree's main motivation for doing this was out of guilt for what Andrew did and her keeping quiet about it.

I wasn't sure about this storyline at first but I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing it unfold, how the Detective Vance is slowly piecing together everything, the way he's stalking Bree Colombo style and how it's affecting the relationship of the four women who have looked out for each other from the beginning. I really loved the most recent episode where they were they looking at Susan's paintings and the Vance was standing over them telling him what he thought they did, with the look of fear in their faces. I love the fact that they know that he suspects what they did. I'm expecting their friendship to disintegrate over the season until ultimately each one of them will be out for themselves and it will simply come down to survival. It will be really interesting to see what happens with Bree because she's been the strong one so by the indication of the last episode I'm fully expecting to see her go off the rails.

In spite of everything I still love the fact that the tongue-in-cheek humour hasn't worn thin and certain scenes are still funny despite this being the 8th season.

I am actually still in denial that DH is nearly over, I mean this is a show I have grown up with. It has got me through a few dark months and I will be so incredibly sad to see it end. :(

Mixed feelings about the last episode. It was bad enough Susan painting the four of them in the woods with Alejandro's body but I cannot for the world of me think she would be monumentally stupid a second time, going to see his wife and step daughter and writing a cheque with her name. On the other hand I really liked the outcome of that particular part of the episode when Susan brought them round to Gaby's, Gaby told Claudia about what Alejandro did to her when she was 15, Claudia refused to believe it then her daughter told her Alejandro did the same thing to her. The goodbye scene with Gaby was really good too with Gaby hugging Marissa, feeling her pain, Claudia telling Gaby she wasn't a good mother and Gaby reassuring her at least she believed Marissa which is more than Gaby's mother did for her.

Really, really enjoying seeing Bree self destruct. She's the person who to me seemed the most independent, efficient and headstrong so watching her sleep around and hit the bottle brings a different dimension to her particular character.
