Slade Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 I actually stopped watching Desperate Housewives after season 4 (I think Katherine’s first season) and hadn’t watched it in years but thanks to E4 showing it every morning at 6:45 I was able to watch it before going to work and so relive season 4 and watch seasons 5 and 6. Season 5 was OK but even though it was the main emphasis, the stuff with Dave seemed to go on forever. I thought what happened with his wife and daughter was really sad and I did feel sorry for him in that respect but thought in the end he got off lightly (ending up in a mental institute instead of jail) but at least he did the right thing and let MJ go. One thing I didn’t like was the fact that Susan was driving and let Mike take the rap for it. It was definitely an accident because although from what I recall Dave’s wife had the right of way, the sign had fallen over the side of the road so Susan wouldn’t have been able to see it. I was disappointed Edie was killed off as I really liked her and thought at times she was hilarious but she wasn’t in it that much so kind of got used to her not being around. Really enjoyed Season 6. I liked the suspense surrounding Bolen’s and in particular liked Angie. I liked the way she was so direct about everything and would do anything and everything in her power to protect Danny. Carlos and Gabby were absolutely hilarious. Just about every scene they had together contained something I found funny. Bree’s another person that I like in a different way. Thought it was interesting how impeccable in every sense she was before but made her lose some of her morals, i.e. having and affair with Karl and allowing Andrew to keep quiet about running Carlos’s mother over. In the end I didn’t blame Orson for leaving her which is a shame as I do quite like him. I have mixed feelings about Susan. There are times where she’s displayed kindness such as when she let Robin stay at hers but others when I haven’t liked her such as when Danny was under the car and she used the car jack to lower the car on top of him because she thought he strangled Julie. Also when Mike was too proud borrow her money and she found out and teamed up with Gabby to teach him and Carlos a lesson. Incidentally if Susan had a substantial amount of cash from selling her share in the strip club that Karl left her then surely she and Mike wouldn’t have needed to move away? Was he really in that much debt? Katherine was one of my absolute favourites and I was gutted when she went although at least she sort of had a happy ending leaving with Robin. Out of the main characters Lynette’s probably the person I like least. There’s no doubt she is a good mother but I just feel at time she doesn’t come across as very likeable and I don’t like the way she acts towards Tom. I have to say though I really liked the way she was with Eddie and thought she handled the whole situation in the end brilliantly. Another person that makes me laugh is Lee and I quite liked the scenes he had with Gabriella. I love that the whole show is very tongue and cheek. Anyway they are currently showing Series 7 on Channel 4/E4 so I’ll try and catch up on 4od then follow the season as it’s shown.

I wonder if he is the one who shot Paul Young? I knew there was something dodgy about that flower delivery guy. There are couple of simlarties between Desperate and Neighbours they both have villains named Paul and they both had a Susan and Karl married to eachother
