I look forward to H&A being rerun. The good bandwagonnery of iconic soaps being rerun in the UK, such as CS, ED, Brookie, EE, Neighbours and now H&A.

Last year Eldorado was rerun start to end and I never expected that to see the light of day ever again.  It got a decent cult following too.

Whilst they've been on Amazon, this time round it's on "normal telly" and I do think that means it'll attract a new audience, especially if the episodes will be available to stream, even if only for a month like the modern day show.

If Drama will be HD (if only on Sky/Virgin) what chance is there of the present day show moving across from 5 Star?!

@Dan Fthe most important question, however, is... can we have an official discussion thread in the Bayside Diner forum? 😃

I recall in around 2005 there was supposed to be a new channel called Down Under that was going to repeat Home & Away episodes from the start which I was very much looking forward to. Unfortunately that channel never appeared so nothing happened. At that point in time there were 17 years worth of episodes to get through and we would have reached 2005 by 2022.

Since then the internet has made it possible to watch lots of episodes from yesteryear. I watched every episode from the Australian reruns from 1988 - 1996 and I've been watching at Australian pace via the internet since maybe 2009 at a guess and others have been doing it for longer. It's likely these episodes are going to exist somewhere on the internet forevermore.

We now have 39 years worth of episodes to get through to catch up with the present day. In 39 years time there's a good possibility I'll be dead.

Basically I can't be bothered with starting from 1988 once again. I want to go to the largely untapped territory of the late 90s. Maybe they're purposely not showing episodes from that era to ensure they don't end up on the internet.

RIP Ray Kolle, who was a script supervisor and writer for H&A in the late 1990s. 1997-1999 is an era I would love to also see again. Ray also worked on Neighbours plus many other shows.

I'll be 81 in 39 years from now, and for reasons I won't go into on here, fairly confident that I will be dead long before then.

If two episodes a day were shown all year round, you would get through the first decade in four years, give or take.

You could certainly complete the entire "ITV era" in under five.

Someone  on  one of the  home and away pages  on Facebook  has put it  starts on the  28th.

That's not true, again no date has been announced yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start up after the present day show comes off air in 4 weeks' time.  They could then show the pilot on the Friday before starting with the first episode proper on the Monday.
