Happens all the time actors being on both shows but now Neighbours is over are there any actors who have been on it that you'd like to see on Home and Away either as a guest role or regular

  • John changed the title to Are there any actors from Neighbours you'd like to see in the Bay?

I'd have always loved a crossover. Harold being a friend of Alf could have worked. I can see Susan and Karl getting on with the longtermers. Paul would be great to see in Summer Bay too.

Re: your question. Pretty much those actors. Maybe Mackenzie too. I'd say Terese as well but they would be weird .. although not the first time they've used a previous permanent cast for a new role.

Ones who have not yet been in H&A before, I would like to see in H&A are:-

Robert Forza, who once played Rocco Cammenitti in Neighbours. Forza could play an old friend or associate of Tane/Sonny or whoever. I know Rocco in Neighbours was a JR Ewing type. Or he could come in as a new resident of Summer Bay who creates waves.

Jeff Kovski, he was in Neighbours a few times, once as Rocco's brother Raimondo Cammenitti. Jeff would be great in H&A even as just a guest role. Maybe as an old friend of Palmer.

Ryan Moloney, Lucinda Cowden. Sue Jones (Pam from Neighbours).

Jackie Woodburne, and she gets a role this time, 3rd time lucky.

She tried before? Didn't know that

She was said to have auditioned for the role of Pippa Fletcher in 1987, or was considered, but in the end Vanessa Downing got the role, and Jackie did apply again I believe for the recast role of Pippa in 1990 but lost out to Debra Lawrance.

THE actress who plays Susan Kennedy in the iconic soap Neighbours was very nearly cast as another much-loved television mum, Pippa Ross, in Home and Away. It was 1990, and the original actress who played Pippa, Vanessa Downing, had quit the Channel Seven drama. The character was critical to the storyline of the fledgling new series, so she couldn’t be killed off. Instead, producers began urgently casting a replacement. After a series of auditions, it came down to two young performers and good mates, Jackie Woodburne and Debra Lawrance.

“We were, and still are, very dear friends,” Lawrance recalled. “She and I were shortlisted together, and after our call-back audition we caught up for coffee. We both genuinely agreed that we didn’t mind if the other got it.”

Back to the original question, I'd like to see the pairing of Stefan Dennis and Alan Fletcher on Home and Away. They're good fun as a duo, and I'm sure they'd enjoy being given the opportunity to work together again*

* Yes, I know neither of them is going to move to Sydney at this stage of their lives...

I don't think any of the Neighbours stalwarts could have a role in H&A simply because their so synonymous with that role. Same would go for H&A stalwarts in Neighbours. I'm surprised the producers haven't tried to lure back Rebekah Elmaloglou or Jodi Gordon off the back of their Neighbours success. Martha has family still in Summer Bay. Whilst Sophie doesn't, she does have a very loose connection to Alf through Blake and her children Tamara and David would be the right age to slot into the younger cast.

Other cast I'd like to see in H&A: I was always a big fan of Charlotte Chimes, so maybe her in some capacity? I also quite liked Alex Kaan who was a regular in the last few months of Neighbours, so it would be great to see him in a longer-term role also.
