Who was the best police officer?

I don't mean who was your favourite character but who was actually the best cop as in good at their job and professional

Bob Barnett was definitely the most professional/compentent. After that, probably Inspector Carter who was around in the late 90s. 

Of the full-time cast, I'd say Nick Parrish.

Chris Hale & Terri Garner were until they suddenly got stories of their own.

Basically faded into background after her thing with Tom Nash (yup that happened, 1999 was weird) fizzled out. Her last scene was her busting him perving on a nude beach.

The second actress played her was brought back nearly 10yrs later as Axel Hay's Mum who visited him in hospital before he died of his injuries as a result of Larry Jeffries knocking of his bike.

Amelia Longhurst herself died in 2019.
