c120701 Posted Thursday at 21:09 Report Posted Thursday at 21:09 It seems odd that Levi would even be considered for the Emergency job given his recent incident with the patient. As a Cardiothorasic Surgeon it seems like he’d be taking an hourly pay cut, but at least he’d be getting more hours to cover it. I wondered if Marilyn would see a promotion in the wake of Irene’s exit. It really does make sense, but Leah didn’t really do a great sell. Quote
James Martin Posted Friday at 03:01 Report Posted Friday at 03:01 Alf is many things. However, he is not a marriage counsellor. So towards the end of the episode Tane & Jo have a game of Tonsil Tennis and then in the Promo - which looks like it might be set on the same day - he's calling her his girlfriend? Hopefully this isn't a spoiler, but I see Australia has new credits that we should see in five or six weeks from now. There's no spoilers if you watch them but for the first time in nearly 30 years the full-length theme tune is back with another very cute 90's Easter Egg. Quote
H&Alover Posted Friday at 13:33 Report Posted Friday at 13:33 About time Marilyn was given the promotion to Manager, hope she also gets a rise in pay. It did also seem Leah was looking into hiring another member of staff which they'll be needing if she is going off to Cyprus for ever how long. Alf hasn't got the patience to be any sort of counsellor but they would have tested anyone's. They were acting worse than five year olds and needed their heads banging together. They completely ignored his 'instructions' to let the other speak and not interrupt. Could they define the time that things haven't been right for? It was funny, though it shouldn't be, that Alf kicked Justin out and told him to go home. It's not as if Leah is emigrating, she's just going to see VJ to give them the space she thinks they need. In a small town like the bay you are going to keep bumping into each other. Many estranged couples have found that out. Reminds me of long ago when the Astoni's broke up briefly Maggie said to Ben they should let each other know where the other was so they didn't bump into each other. David disappointed me by not saying those words or something like them when he was giving his 'permission' for Tane to date Jo. He did say he was just looking out for Jo as any parent would even when their child is an adult which Tane identified with. At least now Jo and Tane can go public with their relationship, go to Salt/the Diner together, hold hands in public and not sneak about. I wonder how Harper will take the news, I know she is now over Tane but any parent would worry about their ex's getting serious about someone new and how they will get on with their shared child. Will they get on with them, treat them right, will the child, in this case Archie, like them. Tane would be the same if Harper got with someone. I must say the babies who play Archie come across as being very comfortable with Jessica and Ethan, it was lovely seeing him playing with Ethan's lips. As a Cardiothoracic surgeon Levi gets 'fixed' hours as in when he is needed but in A&E, you can get called in if there is an emergency and you may have to stay behind when your shift has finished. Holden is back and his excuse as to how he knew where Lacey worked because it was on her social media page seemed plausible. If you put things like that on your page anyone can see it. He did ask if he could take that selfie of them, but she did seem edgy about wanting to go for a drink with him. I'm guessing she learnt to play pool while she was with the RB's which was why she thrashed him. It wasn't said but does he live in the city? Quote
Red Ranger 1 Posted Friday at 18:47 Report Posted Friday at 18:47 Alf's episode count this week:Three. A lot of delicate negotiation to get Tane and Jo back together. Jo is another one that seems to get criticised a lot by Oz pace fans but I thought she did some great physical comedy here. Lacey points Tane in the right direction before David pretty much gives him an almighty shove to get him the rest of the way.I think David handled it okay, essentially stepping aside and saying it was Jo's choice. Lacey has a visitor of her own.I'm kind of with Holden in that looking each other up on social media is what young people do today, so not sure why she seemed so disconcerted by that. However, it does feel like there's a bit of a Leah and Sonny thing going on, with Holden latching onto her to deal with losing Isaac and convincing himself she's the only one that understands. I kind of agree with Leah that Justin can't say he needs space and doesn't want to be married to her anymore, and then complain about her leaving. Justin didn't do a very good job of articulating that he wants her to stay. I'm a bit annoyed at Alf breaking his word and kicking Justin out, and I suspect he'd never have done that to Leah if the positions were reversed. It'd serve him right if Justin just goes to the motel. I'm slightly worried about Marilyn being left in charge of the Diner, given that last time Leah did that, she ended up unconscious on the floor from exhaustion! (And hey, Marilyn at the surf club! Who says it never happens?) Quote
H&Alover Posted Sunday at 14:28 Report Posted Sunday at 14:28 A lot of mixed/misunderstood messages between Leah & Justin. Personally I think it would be good for Leah to visit VJ and Luc, she must be a teenager -14 - now to give then both space - but six months really! No wonder Justin threw down that challenge - if you go it's over. Justin isn't the most articulate of people and when he said what he did earlier it was in anger/frustration. They were still going round and round and round in circles and solving nothing. Leah is another one getting a lot of flak along with Harper, Jo and Lacey on H&A's fb page. They also have to keep having a dig about the work Ada has done on her face. Cue David being the embarrassed dad when he saw Tane and Jo looking cosy and having a snog in public! Tentative question - will you be coming home for dinner - answered by I may be busy. I do hope she let David know she was staying overnight at Tane's. Mac really couldn't help herself by going all interrogator when Tane and Jo walked in together. Levi did try and get her to back off, but to no avail, not surprising Tane decided just to buy a bottle of red and leave. Levi's interview went well it seemed, he did look very sexy in his suit. I guess even if he works at ND's anyway, it would be the right protocol/procedure for him to be interviewed, I'm supposing there would be other candidates. He would need to get up to date as to how ND's ED is run, things would have changed since he would have done his rotation back where ever he took his. In his favour he does know the hospital and the people in ED. Wasn't absolutely sure he needed to fill Jo in about the possibility he may be moving into ED right at that moment. Jo was very pleasantly surprised that Tane could actually cook and they did actually eat the food before eh umm, cough, cough retiring. Going off on a tandem a tad, where are Harper and Archie staying seeing after they left the motel? From what we saw on the promo for next week things have moved on Remi wise, I will say I was right about one thing and why he's reluctant to have the op, though things have shifted somewhat in that respect. Well done Dan F, you spotted my deliberate mistake. I did wonder where she was going. It would have been a tad awkward her going back to Tane's seeing as Jo may be a more frequent visitor and staying over. Still raises the question of how she is going to manage wit Archie's buggy with all those steps. Quote
Medea Fleecestealer Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Leah and Justin still on the brink. Is anyone else getting bored to death with almost constant bedroom scenes in the show? Cash and Eden, Levi and Mac, Tane and Jo. Not really necessary, just wastes time that could be put into another storyline in the show. I suppose if Leah and Justin do make up we'll be seeing them doing the same soon. Quote
Red Ranger 1 Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago My sympathy swung back to Justin here. While in many ways he brought this on himself by saying he didn't want to be in the marriage, refusing to talk to Leah and then acting surprised when she decided to leave, he seems to have suddenly snapped back to begging her to talk to him, and now Leah's the one being ridiculous by saying space will do them good. If this was a genuine holiday, sure, but being gone six months or maybe even more and expecting Justin to wait for her to decide to come back? Not remotely feasible, so I don't blame Justin for giving the ultimatum. I know Alf cares about both of them, Leah more than Justin it has to be said, but I found him rather heavy-handed in his attempts to tell them what to do. I don't have any issues with Tane calling Jo his girlfriend, they've been dancing around each other for months and they were heading that way before Eddie's return confused things. Jo basically confirms she only got engaged to Eddie because she thought he'd saved her, but let's be honest, she'd gone pretty far with him even before that. I agree it was nice they actually had their meal before...doing anything else. David trying his best to avoid them during their PDA was amusing. Levi continues to be assuming a lot (does the hospital know he sees it as a trial?), although I suspect the show will move him into that position so they don't have to hire a guest actor or come up with an excuse for Levi to be there anyway next time someone comes into emergency. I did wonder about Jo's position. At the other end of the scale, it sounds like the volunteer programme isn't happening which is frustrating: Another case of the show threatening to do something different and interesting with a character and then backing out of it.
