Do you think the Sands Resort was meant to play a bigger part in show?

Given focus on Sands Resort for while  and having lot characters working there  it seem like Sands Resort was going play bigger part in show but by early 1990 it was completely forgotten about and Stacey despite only being guest character she seemed to be lot more important character then likes of Matt Wilson who was regular.

Possibly. With Frank and Roo leaving and Tom no longer working there, it seemed it was being a bit phased out. Strange how Stacey never made the credits (or Andrew) but with her leaving they may have felt there wasn't much use for the Sands anymore. Maybe Gordon was going to hang around as a recurring villian but with his children gone and other characters tied to him having left/ on their way out, they may have just decided to change direction. It seemed like 1990 was going through a few changes such as acting some cast and aiming for a younger audience. Maybe they felt the Sands didn't suit the direction the show was going in.
