Well, Tane was never the brightest of the Paratas was he? Then again Ari wasn't that much smarter at times...

John's friendship with Dana is one of the nicer more organic ones in recent years. Similar to his with Maggie.

I want a friend  like Sonny, he gives such good advice, he doesn't judge, just listens and gives his view on what the problem whoever it is has.  I saw his point of view when Dana was telling him about Harper and their mum because of the job Harper does but in this case it is different. Won't say more in case not everyone may have seen it.

On the subject of Sonny he is stretching himself being torn between three people and one of them was let down, but kindly.

That scene with Dana telling John he's the dad she wanted to have was sweet and the hug he gave her later.  Ironic that she and Harper looked on Irene as the mum who they wished they had had.

I found the scenes where Levi and Mac were trying to  get some afternoon delight and kept getting interrupted were funny.

We know Ari and Mikaere were on the wrong side of the law and Tane was no angel but know nothing about his parents.  He could, at least, text Harper to let him know all is well with Archie. Wherever is he's going to need to buy food, milk, nappies and change of clothes for him.  When Alf and John were asked if they had seen him they didn't seem that worried.

Eden does need  a purpose or something else to focus on to call her own.

Oh look, Leah wearing her spectacles again.  😆

Wonder if her thinking she's lost a friend means she's going to spiral again.

Do we really need a stupid storyline with Tane running off with Archie?  Especially after Harper threatened him re the custody thing.  I don't care how much he's supposed to love Archie I think the last thing he would do is disappear with him with the suspended sentence hanging over him.  If Harper did/does act on calling the police then he probably wouldn't see Archie for years as he'd be in prison.  And might lose his custody rights as well.

Alf's episode count this week:Two.

Sonny did a decent job with Dana, managing to quietly moderate her thought processes without upsetting her.Leah had a bit of tunnel vision with regards Sonny, seemingly unable to understand that maybe he just doesn't want to have dinner with her tonight. In the end, he had to be firm but fair with her and accept that Dana's his priority right now.Marilyn continues to hover on the fringe of other people's storylines pulling faces.

I was hoping Harper would bite Alf's head off when he dismissed her fears with a blinkered "Tane will look after him", but from the promo, looks like it's coming.I guess it's consistent, since he didn't think it was a big deal last time Tane did something stupid and selfish like this. Because yes, he probably would, but that doesn't mean Harper's going to be fine with never seeing Archie again.I'd have thought Dana might be a bit worried about that as well, but seems like she's pretty much on "the demigod"'s side. Would she consider losing Archie a price she'd been willing to pay to stop Tane going to prison?

Episodes like this really do make me wonder why some people are determined to see Abigail as too immature for Mali, because she's clearly not. While the age gap perhaps makes it inevitable that he'd act like a big brother figure at times, it's clear that she's equally capable of being the grown-up in the relationship when he's the one spiralling.

It did appear Tane had been listening to Harper's rants as he turned up at Yabbie Creek and he had only gone  been  overnight. Us viewers can get confused as to us it can seem to be a couple of days but in SB it could be the same day or just the next day.

It did come out Harper and Tane didn't have official custody rights, it's  been something they had worked out themselves and until now it's  worked fine.   Dana isn't on either Harper's or Tane's side, she's on Archie's side.  Both Harper and Tane love him.

Abi can appear to be immature at times but she's been great with Mali and his fretting  about getting Mac's surfboard just right. He is overthinking it too much.  Her suggestion he just let it go for now, worked for a while.  We don't know either Mali or Abi's ages so it's not clear what the age difference is.

As I said before Leah may have come to a calm period about losing Theo but it did come back to hit her  again as we saw in Friday's 'new' episode which is normal.

Tane's apparently only been gone one night, yet Mali's been working on the surf board design for "days". I'm not sure if those quite match up. Despite Dana's claim that he's not her favourite person right now, she did seem to be resolutely Team Tane and thinking Harper's awful for being upset with him. It does feel like her crush on "the demigod" is still well and truly intact. I'm not sure what Tane was trying to achieve and I'm not sure if he is either. If he wanted to give Harper a scare, it's worked a bit too well. I'm glad Cash at least seemed to empathise with her.

Leah definitely crossed a line just letting herself into the flat. She probably thinks she's being calm and rational but she's still harassing people by not taking no for an answer. Justin seemed to only get the edited highlights about her behaviour but hopefully his idea works.

Abby and even Alf tried to talk to Mali but he seems to have decided that if it can't be perfect, he's not going to do it at all, which seems to be missing the point.

Had Mali been working on the board before Tane 'disappeared' if so that would explain him working on it for 'days'.

Dana would be on Tane's 'side' as she is anti Harper's idea of their mum meeting Archie.  I thought Tane had overacted, he does sometimes  act on impulse rather than thinking it through, but he did come back and pre-empted  Harper by going to the cops and asking Cash to find out  what his rights are.  I got the feeling Cash was more on Archie's side than either Tane's or Harper's.  He has known Harper longer but Tane is also a friend so torn between the two.

Giving Leah some benefit of the doubt as she is still grieving for Theo and Sonny has been a great help to her  and  sometimes it is easier to talk to someone other than family, but she is taking it too far. Sonny does have other commitments, a girlfriend who also needs him to be there for her and a mate who he is in business with.  Leah was taking far too personally,  even Maz could see it from Sonny's point of view.  Anyways, if you knock on a door a couple of times and ring the bell and no-one answers it's evident no-one is in, but no she lets herself in and although she didn't do any damage just sat on Theo's bed and got all  upset again.  But as soon as Dana came in she had a go about her being the reason Sonny had 'dropped' her.  Dana, although not overjoyed about it, was OK with Sonny seeing Leah it was Sonny's idea.

It will be tough visiting Theo's grave but it may help for her to be able to say goodbye to him.

Talking of Maz aka Emily Symons there was an interview with her in  one of my TV mags saying how much she loves being Marilyn.  She did comment about how viewers feel they have to say why Maz has to dress the way she does, but Maz is a 80's girl/woman so she would dress and have her hair and make up like it was then.  Emily did say when she goes shopping and sees earrings like the ones Maz would wear she buys them and asks the wardrobe department if she can do so.

Levi and Mackenzie are also said to have only been away one night: I think Mali only started working on the designs the day they left, but I could be wrong.

Pretty unprofessional of Mackenzie to just cancel the gig like that, it's a good job Remi didn't get too far in rearranging things before Bree had a word. Given the amount of organisation involved, would it really just slip her mind that it was in just a few hours' time? Bree and Dana had some nice farewell moments, and after just blurting it out initially, Bree managed to have a fairly decent conversation with Remi. Given that he was begging her to stay with him not too long ago, sleeping with him seems like a mixed message at best.Has she changed her mind and decided to stay? Or is it just goodbye sex? I hope he knows either way...

Dana came across a lot better here. She can still see Tane's side, but she managed to be even-handed and respect Harper's viewpoint as well, rather than ranting about what a great father Tane is and how dare she do this to him. I do think Harper was unnecessarily unco-operative as well: She was the one that brought solicitors into it, so objecting to Tane following her lead and refusing to tell him where she's moving to seems unnecessarily petty. It occurs to me that Harper and Dana were originally planning to get a place together until their emergency stopgaps became their permanent addresses. With Theo dead, Lacey moved out and Bree apparently going, should be plenty of room for Harper and Archie in the Diner flat?
