Alf's episode count: Suspended. The absentee list this week comprised Alf, Tane, Cash and Sonny, but at least we had an explanation for all of them!

As Justin said, it's kind of a relief to see Remi all fired up.His reunion with Bree, while awkward, didn't go as bad as it could have done.I was kind of expecting her to avoid him, but she was polite and clearly pleased that he's got something that excites him.I'm not sure how practical Justin managing the acts is.Maybe if there's only one or two of them, he managed to fit in managing Lyrik or Kirby around his work at the garage (although Theo was more involved at the time), but if this gets as big as Remi's hoping it will be, then I'm not sure that's going to work.

I'm pretty sure Bart was conscious and already making a nuisance of himself when he was brought in.Anyway, Bree's got the kick to confront hospital admin about it all, although it remains to be seen if she'll get anywhere.

There was a distinctly Pippa-like touch to Roo debating with herself and others about how committed she should be to providing a home for anyone that needs it. It does feel like her refusal is probably for practical reasons but it does make sense.

Dana must be wondering when she became the level-headed sister: It continues to remind me of the Cash and Felicity relationship, which took a similar trajectory with Felicity becoming more settled and responsible for a time. Harper seemed to be all over the place, from panicking about the idea of sleeping with Drew to really wanting to, only for it to fall flat. I'm glad that they didn't make Drew a jerk or a sleaze and had Harper acknowledge he had a good reason for ending things. It seemingly leaves her in an embarrassing situation with Tane though...

Wait I thought the reason why Lyrik broke up was because they needed to earn money while waiting for a record label to discover them if Remi has the power to start his own label off what have they been waiting for? Very odd story this music stuff

I don’t know how you go about it but sure I would do it just for a laugh if it’s that easy

The hospital having no security is silly

Mac having a go at Abby and looking like a supermodel while having IVF I’m not so sold on

Roo your job is to help kids so yes take the placement stop being silly

Harper you don’t need to sleep with Drew right away you know nothing about him much yet

Well, it depends which break up you're talking about, there's been quite a few! The first one was before Remi got his money. They did make an attempt to revive it at the beginning of the season once Remi could bankroll them, but the old "Something horrible always happen to Eden around the beginning of the season" trope kicked in, meaning they weren't able to make their big comeback appearance and eventually decided the universe was telling them something.

The fact H&A ends on 5th December this year makes a change as it usually ends - for us - in the middle of November.  That should shut the moaners up as they usually complain it's too early.

Didn't Lyrik have a record label or did they release the album on their own?

ND's do have security, it's just that we don't see them very often only when something dramatic happens, guess TPTB would have to pay for extras.

Roo is totally in the wrong headspace to long term foster a six year old boy and we neither does she what problems he has so in her current frame of mind wouldn't be as caring or concentrated on him as she normally would be. Leah gave her  a fresh opinion, after talking to Maz, not that she revealed what was bothering Roo.   Anyways if Roo was so unsure about taking the lad on or not, it says it all really.

Back to Remi and his offer to Justin, WOW that was something for Justin to think about, was Remi getting carried away again  like he did when he rented the sound studio and expecting Lyrik to move to the city when he was saying maybe two, three, six, twelve or more people, groups to sign to his new label - Back on Track - like the sound of that - maybe spell Track Trak or is that too out there?   At least Justin talked to Leah about it before putting his x on the contract.  Leah made good few points, how is he going to run the garage with Theo working part time? Maybe be out there, but couldn't Justin put an ad in the local rag asking for any mechanics to apply for a job. Who's going to be scouting for these people, Remi or Justin and how far away are they going to be looking for them or is Remi going to be putting an ad in record mags?  What role does Remi have planned for Sonny that he wants him back for?

When Bree put her idea to Dana she Dana made the sensible  observation they  can't have someone in the cubicles all  the time in case  when someone is brought that they may turn violent.  It was a tad awks when Bree ran into Remi but of course they would have at some time  and it did go well, but Bree had to hear about him getting his own record label from from another source. Bree, to me at least, looked a bot wistful after she'd seen Remi.

Harper was really getting her knickers in a knot over Drew, thinking as it's  the third date he'd want to sleep with her, where in any rule book does it say that? They've only had a quick hug and a peck on the cheek or did we miss something when they went on their second date.  Did snigger what Dana said about using  protection this time.   Her babbling away to Drew must have been disconcerting for him.  I did wonder if maybe Drew was lying about the fact his nine year old didn't like daddy seeing a woman who wasn't mummy so he couldn't see her anymore, as children that age do/hope mum and dad would get back together and it felt kinder than saying he wasn't that into her.  If true it's good he's putting his children first, if Archie was old enough to take notice, she'd be the same.  She, Harper, has nothing to feel embarrassed about, all she has to say  is it didn't go as she hoped and they'd split not that huge  a deal.

I felt Justin was a bit harsh on Sonny. Sonny did look bored when they were discussing stuff that doesn't exactly come under his portfolio, but Remi knew what he was getting when he hired him, and is probably expecting for Sonny to come up with outside the box ideas to draw people in. That doesn't necessarily mean he isn't taking it seriously, even if he is a bit quick to expect Remi to splash the cash. Dana showed some lovely comic timing when Sonny mentioned he had a business meeting and she just stood still for a second before giving a "What?" look to camera.

Harper's comic timing was great too and she and Dana made a great pairing which makes me wish for more of this and less of her slightly awkward living situation with Tane. Dana goes from trying to be the sensible one ("I didn't join those dots because I'm not insane") to reverting to motormouth mode when her attempt to subtly question Tane goes off the rails ("It was like I was having an out of body experience and just looking at myself talking"). That said, Harper's desperate attempts to get out of her fake date while Tane insisted on being reasonable raises a smile.

Bree's chat with Keith was enlightening, with a nice indirect mention of Mason's death which was a good use of continuity.(I wondered if she realised that's Justin's brother?) Something for her to campaign about definitely! (And it explains why Keith put in such a poor showing with Remi, if they're not actually allowed to use force to remove someone.)

Mackenzie and Levi continues to feel a bit worthy but dull. There might be merit in dramatising the trouble some couples go through to conceive but even Mackenzie seemed to feel like she's just having the same conversation on loop.

I guess when Remi suggested Sonny coming on board as Marketing Director or whatever he's going to be called was because of the way he had drummed up people to attend Lyrik's early gigs, but that was  unofficial and he did it as  a favour for his mates. This time it's going to be a proper job and there will be more to think about than just rounding up young people to go to the gigs.

Sometimes I think Remi has forgotten he has plenty of cash because he looked so flummoxed when Justin suggested he buy a place where these new bands/singers could rehearse.  Would need somewhere close but far enough away from their neighbours so they didn't get complaints about the noise.

Dana was probably thinking 'what you have been offered a proper job!'

Harper put Dana in a very awkward position so she had to lie to Tane that Harper was still seeing Drew.  Harper was going to tell him but Tane was so pleased she was still OK she chickened out, not unlike how like she was about telling him she was pregnant, she is digging herself a bigger and bigger hole. Just fess up girl.  I know I've said this before but why does Archie have to wear his woolly hat on indoors? 🤔

I caught that about what Keith told Bree about the siege, but that would have been slightly out of their remit, that was six years ago.  I wouldn't have thought that would have ever come up between Justin and Bree when they have talked, was it mentioned between Bree and  Leah when Justin was last in hospital and Bree asked about letting his family know?  I was just as surprised as Bree when Keith told her they - the security team -  aren't allowed to touch  any unruly patients/relatives as they would find themselves in trouble and get accused of assault. Just there then to look menacing, madness isn't it?   Remi and Justin obviously read Bree touching Keith's hand wrong as they both retreated back to Remi's.  Going off on a  tandem, Dean and Colby helped rescue  the hostages  by sneaking into the hospital.

I guess Mac and Levi's story could be seen as dull, but so many couples are going through what they  are and  for them it certainly isn't dull and they would be saying/feeling the same way each time.

I have read  H&A is taking it's Christmas break later than usual 5th December will  be 'our' last one.

If anyone is wondering what happened to Rory the RB who went down for killing that cop that Cash was investigating, well he's now in The Forsytes as a posh Victorian gent - Soames Forsyte. He's got a very convincing English accent.

It's been awhile since we saw the front of the farmhouse then we saw it twice, then later we saw the back garden and the gazebo.

Yep we finish on the 5th, which will be slightly weird as the original plan was to stop on the 21st, and Seven plotted the "UK cliffhanger" to work to that date.  So it'll be a bit unusual but it does mean we catch up a wee bit when we finally get to 2026 episodes.

Marilyn had dialled up the annoying to 11 for most of the episode with her constantly badgering Harper. She did give Roo some words of wisdom about Cohen, although it took Harper to point out the obvious that she should ask Adrian if he's okay with it.Meanwhile, Dana was back revelling in the fact that Harper's life is more messed up than hers.At least Harper was honest to Tane in the end, even if it did take being caught hiding in a corner of the Diner. (As for the beanies, I imagine they're there to make it less obvious that there's more than one baby playing Archie!)

I'm glad Justin was, eventually, honest with Remi and got a deserved talking to. Because, yes, Remi is fond of Sonny, but he wouldn't have hired him if he hadn't wanted what Sonny can bring to the table. It was mentioned yesterday that he didn't just drag people off the street, he advertised them with posters, social media and radio. So yeah, bigger scale, but that doesn't mean Sonny won't have some worthwhile ideas, even if the go-kart track might be off the table.Nice to see Dana supporting him too.

Jo puts her hypnotherapy idea to David, who's typically pig-headed about it all but didn't get the response he was hoping for from Bree. I was glad to see Tane pulled back in: Having been Jo's initial confidante, he disappeared from the storyline for a bit.

That is the Marilyn we know and 'love'.

I would think Cohen, being the considerate lad he is, would have run his idea of asking Roo to visit by Adrian first, but she took both Maz's and Harper's advice to speak to Adrian.

That's the trouble with being a professional person like a cop, doctor, SW etc  in small places like the bay you are never really off duty as people collar you and ask for your advice.  Roo did it to Harper, then David did it to Bree who said it didn't  really come under her remit but recommended a hypnotherapist to Jo.

Naturally David would be worried about what the sessions could bring up, but as Jo said not doing it would mean she'd be having panic attacks all her life. I'm glad she ignored his advice and decided to go for it.  We did 'see' her remembering there was another car which forced them off the road - a grey Mercedes.

Harper was finally rumbled and had  to fess up to Tane and of course it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, Tane was understanding.  god thinking there Batman about the beanies.

Nice little chat he had with Jo, not too deep but shows he still cared about her.

I didn't think there would any question of Jo not  backing Bree when she tackles The Management at ND's and their stance with keeping front line staff safe,  ditto with Dana.  She, Bree, did say when she talked to them last they said "We are hearing you" but were they 'listening' to her.

Good that Remi, Justin and Sonny have got it all sorted about Sonny's role and he can do a good job.   Is that go-kart track for the new punters of for him?🤣
