I continue to find Theo's constant pestering rather grating. Okay, if he wants to hang out with David and Jo, I guess Lacey can't dictate who he's friends with, even if it is a bit disloyal. But he's so deluded, and so inconsiderate towards her actual feelings rather than what he wants them to be, that he actually expects a pat on the head from her for spending time with the family she hates, and not without reason. Jo was rather annoying at times as well: It didn't seem to enter her head that she doesn't have a version of events, just a vague "I don't remember what happened", so why does she think David trying to find out what happened means he doesn't believe her? Just to underline that she's not the innocent party here, she then accuses Lacey of putting him up to it, in exactly the same way that Lacey accused her of scaring off the PI. Indirectly, I guess it is down to Lacey, but as the recap reminds us, it's more down to something Jo said.

Well, again an attempt to cheer up John doesn't end that well for him, but again he seemed to get some enjoyment out of it anyway, and I guess there was some wisdom to what Tane said about occupying him.

It didn't quite work how Mali wanted the trip to go, so it was Tane 'playing' the HRIY Man.  Was that a kookaburra I saw in the tree when they left?  It seemed John appreciated  what Mali and Tane were trying to do and as Mali said he does have friends in the bay but as John said his and Iren's friendship was special and he did mention  he was seeing her in  few weeks. Tane did deny to Mali of being jealous of Harper going on a date, but was that call to her to see how Archie was just an excuse?  he only saw him the day before. He did kind of blank Jo when she texted him saying 'he was busy' why not just say he was on a camping trip?  She did take him to task about it when she ran into him at the Surf Club.   He did try and tell her his plans were cut short so had to chase after her to explain but then she got distracted when Lacey walked into view.

David's BBQ didn't quite go the way he hoped it would with Jo finding that file and right away accusing David of not believing her when she said she couldn't remember - it did bring on a panic attack - so I believe she is genuine that she can't remember.  it was pretty much a given she'd find it.  Before all of that we really saw  a different side of David - with him boogieing on down - 🤣.  Jo has taken Harper's old bedroom, that room has seen plenty of action over the years, so many lasses have been seen hopping out and in that window. Anyways it was a tad frosty when Leah, Justin and Theo rocked up so no surprise it fell very flat.  Was some light fun with Leah bringing  along just  a 'few' nibbles. 😁🙄

Both Jo and Lacey accuse the other of putting David up for something, he does tend to use Theo of being a middle man between him and Lacey though so he's not entirely innocent.

Alf's episode count this week:Three, and then he left town.Mackenzie, Cash and Abigail were all absent: We know about the first two but did I miss someone saying Abby was out of town?

David's daughters almost swapped round here, with Lacey being friendly with him and Jo thinking they're conspiring against her.David isn't happy that him having the file is common knowledge, but it was Jo who was spreading it around town, and he doesn't even know she told Tane! Would Lacey be happy with him saying there's nothing more to find? Because, you know, there clearly is.

I found Tane's explanation a lot more likely than him being jealous: We know he doesn't like Harper like that, but it's in character for him to be unhappy at the idea of another man playing a role in Archie's life. Harper's date was important enough to actually appear this time then, although Dana's used up her three episodes so the debrief has to happen over the phone!

As Marilyn said, it's in character for Cohen's letter to be more concerned with how Roo is, he did much the same with his mum.I'm kind of waiting for the letter that Roo says she'll never send to Cohen to accidentally get posted by someone. Maybe they'll surprise us?

Irene leaving the furniture behind makes even less sense now David has completely replaced it all, having Irene leaving an empty Beach House would’ve been so much more powerful.

However, it’s lovely to see the Beach House patio in use again, hopefully the whole set will become a more commonly seen playing space now.

Given David said he wanted to use one of the bedrooms as an office, then obvious choice would’ve been the downstairs one, but then again there may be a box room upstairs. I assume it’s more likely the convenience of having a bedroom set available.

There's only that one bedroom (what was Harper's, now Jo's) we really ever see TBF.  Tasha, Belle, Kirsty... everyone's stayed in there at some point!

Liked the "I'm not buying protection!" line, again there's been a nice amount of humour this week.

Jo and Lacey did swap roles, and David is in the middle as always.  The question   of what if had been the other way around and Lacey had been driving and couldn't remember would Jo believe her was brought up.  David did admit he shouldn't have brought that file home  but as he said he couldn't face reading it at the time, it would have been too raw.  As we saw or rather heard  in the promo it was Jo who had made the Emergency call, something else she couldn't remember.

Even Eden asked Tane was he jealous that Harper was moving on but his explanation was  more likely, though he was getting way ahead of himself.  Harper is hardly going to introduce a new bloke to Archie right away and as she said to him Tane will  always be Archie's dad whoever the new long time bloke she meets is. Drew seemed an OK bloke and even Eden gave him the 👍. He did make her laugh which we haven't seen for a while. Do we think the reason why she said she'd be OK going home alone was because she didn't want to him to bump into Tane who is not just her ex but Archie's dad who's she living with?  I don't know if i's been said why Drew seems to be the lone parent to his  two pre teen girls who it is well known can be a handful - has he got full custody for some reason or is he  a  widower?  Did laugh at Harper getting flustered when Drew texted her the next day but Dana told her just answer him.  Btw I did love the dress she wore to her date.

Cohen is a very caring lad and so like him to be worrying about how Roo is doing without him.   It did seem from what he said in his letter he's settling in OK and his gran is making a fuss of him.  She doesn't want to say "She's fine" as it would seem to him she isn't bothered, but then on the other hand she doesn't want to bring him down by saying she misses him too much as he'd feel guilty.   Roo has always been good with expressing herself but this is very personal.

I have a great deal of sympathy for Lacey even if she is a bit dogmatic at times. The rules of the show suggest she's not going to be right about Jo being to blame, but she's absolutely right that people don't just drive into trees for no reason, and I can understand her frustration at the number of people that don't seem to get that. David quickly picks up on an omission from the file, but the answer he got wasn't what he was expecting and doesn't seem to help them.

Good for Remi going back to the training although Eden has a point that it wasn't enough to stop him going off the deep end before, so it's probably a good idea for him to come up with this record label idea. I'm not so sure that producing Kirby was enough for him, which is why he got involved with Avalon, but maybe he'll focus on it this time if he sees it as his future.I liked the references to Kirby making it big it Denmark, with Eden's assessment of it as random but cool and suggesting it's down to Queen Mary. (I had to explain that one to my parents after they went to Denmark a few months back!)

I can understand Dana's concern about Harper getting very invested in Drew very quickly but she seems to have her head mostly screwed on. Drew made a comment that suggested his ex was still on the scene, I'm not sure where their daughters are meant to be living.

I did like that chat/talk David had with Lacey and Jo and at least he got them both to agree that if anything comes of it they can put this behind them and start living like  a normal family.

Same here with Lacey, she in her own stubborn way, wants someone to blame and  Jo is the most convenient as she was there.  That was  a very revealing triple 000 call, why hadn't the person who made it  been recorded in the case files, I would have thought that would have been very relevant.   I can see why  David didn't want Jo to hear the tape as of course it would be very distressing and it was, but maybe she thought it would trigger some lost memory of the accident.  I guess after something like that you can go into automatic pilot and just do what anyone would, ring 000 or in our case 999.  Jo did have another panic attack so I think there are things she has buried and they are the minds way of trying to get you remember - not that I'm anyway medically inclined.

Not sure Lacey should have told Leah about David re-opening the case.  I don't know if it's illegal for him to take it home but definitely  a no-no protocol wise.  Then she accidentally got caught by Lacey when she was talking to Theo.

Dana was certainly enjoying the view - 😁 .

Remi's certainly going for it, but he can't keep running, carrying sandbags to take his mind off Bree.  Eden did try and distract him with getting him involved in her and Cash's Wedding plans but it's so not his thing.  Eden trying to lighten his mood, telling him he's young-ish, he's in his 30's so not that old, has money, talented, knows his music.   Good news from Kirbs, nice to know 'they' haven't forgotten all about her.  So Denmark isn't the States, but hey it's in Europe.  We did see Remi's💡 moment and it was distracting him enough to agree to being seated next to Eden's Auntie Ethel.   He doesn't have  to rush into it, check out other producers and all that stuff, how they got started.

I was with Dana about Harper going overboard about meeting up with Drew again, it would only be the second date and I think people do try to impress on a first date so maybe just rein it in a tad Harper.  Dana was looking out for her and wouldn't want her getting hurt/disappointed/let down.  Did she know where Drew was taking her so that dress would be suitable  and she wouldn't be overdressed.

It seemed like Drew was texting Harper with details throughout the episode, so I'm guessing she knew where they were going.

Today, and I don't really think Lacey is selfish for wanting to know the truth about how her mother died. And it seems like David and Jo have come round to her way of thinking and realised that shrugging it all off with a vague "It was an accident" isn't working for them anymore. Jo seems to be willing to try other methods of remembering what happened. I'm glad Leah at least apologised to Lacey for what she did. Despite David stressing they needed to keep it quiet, it seems half the town knows about his unofficial investigation! After they seemed to shoot around it last week, I notice we did actually get a good look at the pier not-that-out-of-focus in the background during Leah and Justin's walk and talk.

John was out of line cancelling Cash and Eden's celebrant, but his pleading with Eden afterwards was so sincere that I can see why she softened. Odd that he didn't refer to Irene by name. Of course, Eden may have been reconsidering when John promptly turned up at her place of work bombarding her with questions. I'm surprised she didn't give much thought to who'd walk her down the aisle: Traditionally of course her father would do it, but just having him there is a big step, so asking Levi as the promo indicates she will seems like a sensible choice.

We got to hear some more of Jo's 000  call which has to be so distressing for her, she was trapped by her seatbelt so couldn't perform CPR  on her  mum.  I feel for her not knowing if she could be to blame for her mum's death.  I 'said' ages ago why did no-one think of her having hypnosis to help her remember before  but maybe it would have been too soon, but now she's decided for herself that she'll try it.

David did open up to Justin about how he is coping with it, it's good he can offload onto another male, I think he and Justin have a good friendship.

Leah can interfere when not needed but she did apologise which was something.

Justin sounded really pleased when Eden told him about Kirby and hinted about Remi's new project but kept her counsel about what it was.

John is really back in his stride, it was a tad OTT of him 'firing the new celebrant but I think he would be the best man - no pun  intended - but like Leah & Justin he knows Eden and Cash so can make it more personal. He didn't really need to explain to Eden why he dropped out before as back then not many people knew about Irene but that do now so he felt able to.

I did laugh when Eden sent him packing when he was giving her the Spanish Inquisition at Salt.   She's got most of it under control even without Cash's help and good to know Gary's feeling better so hope he'll make it to the ceremony.  Has it been decided where they will be holding it, I'm guessing Salt will be the place to hold the Wedding Breakfast/meal - mate's rates of course unless Mac is letting them have it for free.  Now let me guess who will be playing at the reception - oh I know Remi, Theo and possibly Justin.

That did bring her up short when John asked who will be giving her away, she hadn't given it a thought.  Who would have believed she  ask Levi  a couple of years ago when he first arrived in the bay, he was obviously very touched but tentatively suggested she ask their dad and we saw  her make the call.
