Well, as we've just been saying, there's been a lot of false dawns with Remi, so I guess we'll have to see if this one sticks. Maybe Bree's words were the wake-up call he's been crying out for, or maybe we'll just be back here next week. He did at least manage to avoid flying off the handle or hitting the bottle, so I guess it's promising so far. Eden may have given him some wise words about finding something passionate to focus on. Meanwhile, Dana wasn't the only one surprised that Sonny has a brother. It's a shame he didn't manage to get her or Remi to accompany him. That's the first time we've seen the car park near the Diner in ages, although I notice they showed the actual pier as little as possible!

Marilyn tries to get through Alf's solitary mood but it took Justin and a beer to get him to open up.It's times like this that remind me what an utter asset Justin is: He's an important linking character who's perfectly at home among the stalwarts (of which he's almost one himself!) but can comfortably socialise with the younger characters as well.

Harper in a tizzy over her dating app and Dana's interference in such was quite amusing.Dana had a point that bringing up Archie straightaway lets her weed out ones that aren't interested, although it took Sonny's male perspective to get her over the line...even if Dana did have to accept the date for her! (Did they show us the end of the next episode in the promo again..?)

Who's Carter?

That's Remi's surname.

I thought the Remi Bree story turned into a very bizarre turn turning Remi into a psycho I found it very odd I don’t think even Remi would go that far very unbelievable

Levi did seem to have come back very quick from seeing Mac's mum but according to him  it went OK and she was behind the IVF treatment, well she had been there.

I imagine Tanya probably gave him some side-eyed and the 3rd degree  based on his history and hers with Rick (who probably has at least 3 more kids tucked away, the git) but did the whole "If Mackenzie's I'm happy." thing and  Levi probably had to come back to work ASAP.

Ah thanks for that Red, I thought David was 'talking' to Cash.   Anyways that very barbed remark  by Bree to Remi about him coming across like Jacob - though his name wasn't actually said by anyone -  that did really hit a nerve with Remi so 🤞 it will stop him pestering her and we saw her removing all connections with him,  removing al their photos on her phone and I'm guessing blocking his number. Eden gave him good advice and  he did pick up his guitar, it was his go-to when he needed comfort before.

Rick was  different kettle of fish, he cheated more than once but could see, though we didn't, that Tanya would grill  Levi.

I've been saying for yonks doctors do make the worst patients!😆  Nurses aren't far that behind though.

It came as a surprise to everyone Sonny has a younger brother who it seems it the Golden Boy of the family, also a mention of his dad. Sonny's mum has been mentioned when he rang her after finding out about Irene's condition.  This graduation, would that be from college/uni?  That was the secret I had read about last week. I like how TPTB introduce character's family/old friends so we get to know more about  them slowly and not bombarded all at once. Pretty short notice for Dana to drop everything to go with him, it would mean she would have to skip work, plus it wouldn't be the right time for her to meet mum/dad/brother.   Not a good idea for Remi to go off on another road trip, he needs some quiet time.

Maz has know Alf long enough to know something was bothering him but Alf being Alf was keeping his own counsel, but luckily as has been said Justin managed to get him to open up about he felt about losing Cohen.  He thought of him as a grandson, he does have three of his own of course but didn't know them at Cohen's age.  Justin can, when not being a dope sometimes, does relate with both older denizens of the bay and the younger ones.

It was a bit of light relief with Harper and her getting her knickers in  a knot about what she should say or not say about Archie on her on-line profile and once again Sonny comes to the rescue by giving his opinion from a bloke's point of view.   It is, I imagine, a bit of a tightrope being on a on-line dating app, how much do you reveal about yourself?  Harper hasn't been in the dating world for quite a while.

This camping trip with John, Tane and Mali looks like it could be fun,   John giving his expert opinion on where they should pitch  their tents. Will they all survive?

Whilst she did seem to be in irritating little sister mode a lot of the time, I did love Dana in this episode and she and Harper sparked off each other well, it was nice seeing Harper being quirky and neurotic in a good way. I liked her describing how things went with Tane ("That's very unlikely to happen again"/"You say that now...") and when she tried getting Leah on side and all Leah heard was "You're going on a date?" Anyway, things with Donnie were such a non-event that we didn't even see him, but Harper's got herself back out there.

Tane meanwhile is getting himself back out there in a different way, as the prospect of Harper dating again is enough to make going camping with John not seem that bad after all. Mali seemed to be in full-on wind-up mode where both John and Tane were concerned.

David did put his foot in it a bit with Alf but Alf came round to show there were no hard feelings. And nice to get a reference to Ryder, albeit not by name. I still feel like saying "Oh, it's all right for you, is it?" when we see David making personal phone calls at work, and I doubt him taking the case file home is in line with police protocol either.

As I said in the other thread, the Beach House has had a refurb and, I'm pretty sure, a new kitchen within 3 weeks of the Langhams moving in.

Well, David wants to put his stamp on it.

Had to smile when the 3 of them drove off to the camping site to the tune of one of my favourite sea shanties.  😁

Probably because "In the Navy" would Cost a Bomb!🤣

That was kind of spooky Alf mentioning he was meeting up with Ryder just as I 'said' he has three grandsons of his own.

Good mix of humour and sadness last night.  The fun bits being Harper/Dana and Leah and the camping trip.  It's been an age or seems that way since we've seen Harper being so upbeat and eager for something.  I can imagine Dana being a real annoying little sister when they were younger.   Dana did eventually 'bully' Harper into going on the date with Danny even if nothing happened, at least it got her dipping her toe in the water and  it didn't put her off as she's going on another one.  Tane seemed rather taken aback seeing Harper looking so different. Touch of jealously mayhap?

Oh yes that camping trip  🤣and I'm supposing John was regaling Tane and Mali with his naval stories.   I was singing along with What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor.  That was wicked about the fake kangaroo poo, then Mali being so convincing with  his Hairy Man folk story, John just making sure there was enough wood on the fire as it was getting  a bit cold.   Was John really wearing an eye mask?  I'm guessing Mali roped Tane into it o was he doing it on his own.

The sad bit being where John was reading the accident report where his wife died. Had he not seen them before or he had and it was just bringing back bad memories?  Those photos did look very distressing.  I thought that call he made to get them was official?  We saw another Yabbie Creek cop who actually spoke!😮  Cops do routinely take case files home with them.  Cash did way back so he could show Felicity what really happened to their dad.  I felt so sad for David, he was struggling to hold back the tears.  As we saw in the promo Jo finds them.

That was  a nice move of Alf to bring whatever it was round to David.   David hasn't moved in yet, that was gong to be the next day and Justin was going to help him. Kitchen looked the same to me, unless I missed something.  We did see David putting some of his personal bits and bobs on the shelves.

It's really good to see some humour back in the scripts.  Not just the Hairy Man stuff but Dana and the chicken noises was hilarious too yesterday.  Contrast that with David reopening the file; I've missed that balance of humour & pathos.

Feel like we're being set up for a male mental health storyline with John.  I think it would be a great opportunity.

The Langhams car crash storyline has gone on a bit now, and it's good that's going to go somewhere beyond Lacey blaming Jo.

Tane's jealousy of Harper is beginning to grate.  If he gave Jo a chance he'd get it out his system pretty damn quick; he can't really be stopped doing that if Harper is dating again.

Also, am I the only one who looks at Jo and thinks an untouched-by-time Kirsty Sutherland has returned to the Bay?
