That episode reminded me what an annoying person Bree can be at times. I get that she's hurt about Remi but shouting at Sonny without even letting him get a word in edgeways was just eye rolling. But yeah, Remi doesn't even have a good reason, or a bad reason, for cheating on her, which is fairly hard to forgive although...maybe not as hard to forgive as if he'd been after Avalon for a while? I don't know. It looks as though the question of whether or not Kirby will still promote Avalon's album is kind of moot with her having well and truly sabotaged her own release. Somehow, even though she did a good job of keeping up her side of the bargain, I can't sympathise with her.

Do you remember that time, perhaps 6 months or so ago, when Bree was going through her meltdown stage - caused by the fact she felt responsible for Phoebe's death and 'freezing' when Alf was rushed to hospital and nearly letting him die - and Remi was being super supportive to try to help her and he did some online research to try to discover what sort of condition Bree may have been suffering from...anyway, he said to Bree something like: "Bree, going by how you have been behaving over the past few weeks, I think you might be suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" and Bree just stared at him and replied in the most condescending tone: "Oh, is that your professional opinion?" Hahaha...I love this side to Bree's personality, I know you describe it as "annoying" but I find her quite a multi-layered character and I think it's just a defensive mechanism when she is confronted with trauma...something that she doesn't handle very well.

First of all, there was the abusive relationship she was in when she first joined the show...then there was the fact that she killed her husband...then there was the death of her father, which she was upset about...also, around this time, there was Remi's motorbike crash, in which she insisted that he never rode his bike ever again or their relationship was over as she couldn't handle him having another accident...then, they did eventually break-up and she had to see him in a relationship with Stevie Marlow...then there was Pheobe's death, which she felt responsible for, and the events that followed it such as when she did nothing when Alf was close to death...now Remi's cheated on her...oh, and she finds out he's been taking drugs. It's one thing after another with Bree!

I honestly believe that she will have a very similar reaction to this latest traumatic event as she has done with those similar traumatic events in the past. I think she will have a huge meltdown and rub a lot of people up the wrong way. It's kind of the way she is wired...and I like this about her. As I say, it makes her different. I can't see her and Remi getting back together anytime soon...I think the trust between Bree and Remi has now been completely broken. If they ever did get back together, I think that she would need to find out the reason why Remi cheated on her...and I don't think Remi even knows that himself.

Personally, I think that Remi is going through a midlife crisis. He obviously had his own hopes and dreams as a musician and he has seen Kirby fulfil hers and although he is obviously very pleased for his friend, I think he felt a bit "stuck", "uninspired" and "unfulfilled" in his life before he met Avalon. She saw his potential as a bona fide musician, not just as a producer or a session player, and I think he felt that she gave him a new lease of life when he worked on her album. In one stupid moment, I think he mistook this for something more than that and he instantly regretted it. Maybe the drugs clouded his vision and decision making, but he made a string of bad decisions and I think the root cause was a midlife crisis.

I think Bree's problem is that she doesn't really have any close friends. What she needs right now is somebody to give her a big hug...somebody who is able to provide her with a bit of emotional support. In that past, that has been Remi but I think the only two 'close friends' (other than Remi) that Bree has had since moving to Summer Bay were Xander and Rose. I've always thought that Eden, Theo and Sonny were more Remi's friends than her friends...and I think the same applied with Kirby and Felicity. I don't think she's ever been particularly close with Tane, Cash, Mackenzie, Harper, Mali, Abigail or any of the older cast...Levi and Dana are more like work colleagues who have been on the wrong end of her sharp tongue at times. What she really needs is a good shoulder to cry on and I think she'll struggle to find it!

Yes, Lacey, if a company buys stuff and it has to be paid for then if the boss ain't working to keep the business running then sooner or later it's going to run out of cash.  But hey, Mali's fine about just disappearing and leaving the business not making any money.  🤪  Wasn't Theo supposed to be doing some surfing lessons for him while he was away?

And isn't great that Bree could arrange for all of Irene's tests to be done right away in a very busy hospital.  🤪  Those usually take weeks if not months to organise.

Does this mean Archie isn't going to day care anymore?

Hard to say, but I assume they don't have it at night anyway?

Anyway, yeah, Bree's still on a hair trigger, and after losing it at some poor nurse, Levi is next in her firing line, seemingly standing in for all cheating males everywhere. I guess at least she apologised, and she managed to pull herself together in time to apply Irene's main cast privileges and give her a battery of tests the same day she comes in with a problem.Even though we're told it's only a potential diagnosis, no-one wants to hear the word Alzheimer's. (I think I'm right in saying it's not exactly the same as vascular dementia, as currently portrayed in Corrie?) Dana continues to be aware something's wrong while Leah remains completely oblivious.

Lacey getting in Abigail's face like that wasn't smart, given she seems to be a bit short of friends at the moment. The episode seemed to be trying to make us like Jo, with her sticking up for Lacey and being diplomatic with Levi. Not quite there yet, to be honest. I can understand Lacey not wanting people to know she's been working there about a week and already the business is on the rocks, but it's surely not her fault, and could maybe lead to Mali having to pull his finger out and run his business properly.

It really annoyed me when they invented a fictional band - The Chosen - to be the band that invited Kirby to join them on their world tour...why did they do that? Aren't there enough "real bands" or musical acts in Australia, or indeed the world, to have invited Kirby to tour with them...why did they need to invent one?

Why couldn't they just say that AC/DC had asked her to tour with them for example...it's not as though the show would need to ask for their permission in order to do that...after all, Home And Away is 100 per cent fictional...Kirby Aramoana is not a real person, she is a character in a soap. Not even the most gullible viewer would believe that this fictional character in this fictional soap was "actually" going to be touring with them.

I just think it would have been so much more relatable to viewers - as in she has FINALLY made the big time - and would provide such a triumphant ending for her. The fact that she is going to be touring with a band I have never heard of kind of feels like a bit of a damp squib.

Forgot about night cover but wouldn't Harper  be there anyway?

Oh John I luv you 😍😘💓.  You were so wonderful with Irene, stayed with her all those hours and was so comforting when she got the news she may have Alzheimer's.   I thought the tests Irene was going to have were the memory tests ones. I think, and I'm no medical expert, Alzheimer's is a form of dementia, there are many types.  Bree was very good with Irene and it seemed from what they said they had made an appointment to see her.  Bree, of course, treated Irene not long ago and caught her having a crafty swig from from her hidden bottle of booze and persuaded her to go to rehab. I'm guessing, again, that most docs at ND's would be able to carry out those tests, Bree did tell Irene she would have to see a nuerologist as that would be out of her field of expertise. Would they do the memory tests? Going back a bit when Dana approached John and expressed her concerns he very cleverly downplayed it down but went immediately went to Irene and asked if she had seen her GP which of course she had forgotten about so that is why he dragged her off to see Bree.   I also liked how Dana sat with John, not asking any questions just being there for him.  When John dragged Irene off she told Leah it was an emergency John had so what she will tell them when she sees them again.  Leah will  likely give John an earful and he'll take it as he can't tell her the truth. When those who don't know find out there will be the usual cries of  "How come I didn't pick up on it".  People have busy lives and don't pick up things that later seem to be staring you in the face.

Dana  was  a plucky lass going in to see Bree after she'd just torn a strip off an innocent nurse  but of course she is Sonny's girlfriend so does have a connection and at least Bree could cry on her shoulder.   But it didn't stop her having a right go at Levi who isn't a total innocent  let's not forget, he would have no idea of what has just happened with Remi,  he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as was Jo.  While I'm not  usually the cynical type I did get the feeling she was  storing up what Bree said  about him cheating on Imogen in her head. Bree did apologise to him  and admitted it was unprofessional of her.

On a short break from all trauma there was Mac and Levi embarrassing Abigail by snogging each other's faces off.

Lacey isn't an accountant by any stretch of the imagination, she was just doing what she was put there to do, place orders, take deliveries, book lessons etc.  Abigail did offer to look at the accounts but got shut down.  She should stop being anti everyone, maybe Theo can talk her round.

Talking of whom - whey he got his cash back so it was 'his'.👏  He's paid off his debt and has some spare cash - Oh here's an idea💡could he put it into Mali's  business to keep it afloat, just as a loan of course.   Seems David still doesn't know about her involvement in the sting.

Jo should learn to step back from trying to get Lacey  to be friendly to her, just accept for now it ain't  gonna happen.  At least she has a friend in Dana which wouldn't have seemed likely a few weeks ago.

Seems Jo may have  another new friend - if you get my drift. 😉 Dad may not be too happy about it though.

I think both kind of puncture the fictional world of the show in different ways.If Kirby goes off with a real-life band and is going to be their support act, then that kind of underlines that the characters exist in a different world to us, since that's not happening in "our" world. On the other hand, having her take off with a fictional band has a similar effect, but perhaps no more so than Kirby and Lyrik being big in the show.

Anyway, today. I thought Abigail was unnecessarily harsh towards Lacey in places, accusing her of getting the job by lying when it was more a case of Mali making assumptions.Really, this is Mali's fault: He should have had all this stuff in place before leaving, not expected Lacey to be able to keep things afloat single-handed when she's barely been shown the ropes and was just expecting to sell sunscreen. Anyway, between them they seem to have worked something out and maybe they're on the way to a friendship.

Bit of poor timing all round for Irene's appointment to clash with Leah and Justin's holiday.John's disappointment when Irene failed to tell Leah the truth was palpable. He's kind of carrying this on his own, even though Bree knows and Dana knows some of it.Serious situation but I had to smile at Irene telling Harper to look after her own flipping kid.

Lacey was in full-on irritating sister mode interrupting Jo trying to ask Tane out, but at least she recognised Jo was flirting with him, something Tane seemed oblivious to! Anyway, they got their drink in the end, even though it might not have been the best time for him to have his phone on silent...

I don't know what the law is re drugs is in Aus, which I suppose it why Eden was reluctant to tell Cash about Remi using.  Remi was only taking it for his own purposes, he wasn't  selling it and  Avalon was giving  it to Remi so technically she wasn't selling it so not  a pusher.

I'm sure that isn't the way Detective Langham would view it if he ever found out that Cash knew that Remi was possessing and using drugs and failed to report it (Australia has quite strict drugs laws). Knowing what a stickler for the rules Detective Langham is, he would probably say that Cash was protecting a friend by not reporting it and he'd probably put him on desk duty for a month.

Mind you, if he ever found out that Cash put a civilian's (his daughter) life in danger in order to carry out a sting operation against some potentially dangerous criminal in order to get back Theo's money, I think that Cash would probably have bigger things to worry about!
