Spoiler

So haven't watched properly for quite a while but have come back in tonight for  Irene's exit storyline, which I assume is going to be a longish player as her final scenes air in Australia this week I believe (I assume Lynne's departure is enough of a big deal that it's not really considered a spoiler as such?)

Kirby going on a European tour is a good way to do a write-out; normally write-outs like that are for when the talent need to fly to Europe, usually to do Panto in England! 😂

That said, the WA promos remind me that they're kinda due another shoot in England soon.  Wonder if we'll get one in the next few years?

I don't remember Theo and David  meeting before as he introduced himself so Lacey must have told him offscreen.🤔

Wow that was quick that offer of a European tour - 11 countries in six weeks!  No wonder Kirby's head was spinning. They are taking  a chance on taking on  an unknown rather picking the second in line after the first choice dropped out.   I can understand her knee jerk reaction to  refuse, but  Justin mainly got her to agree to meeting them and talking about it.  Eden will be pleased for her too, though upset at 'losing'  a friend.

I'm glad I was wrong about thinking that maybe Remi had tried drugs in the past but no this was the first time  and he just needed them to get through but he really did  put Sonny on the  spot.  Remi didn't know who Bree was slipping out to meet then, just happenchance, unless in his slightly paranoid state he  picked up something between them the night before.  They had to have the end of their big bust up in front of Dana  who wasn't 'lurking' just happened to be working behind the sand buggy, who was bound to ask questions and I think it says something about Sonny and Dana's relationship that he told her about him making a move on Bree when it happened before they even knew each other.

There was a kInd of flashback to Bree's time with Jacob when she snapped at Remi saying he can't tell her who to see or meet.

Though it was a lovely gesture of Avalon to send that gift to Kirby, does she know Kirby's going on an European tour,  I still have my doubts about her.  And as for that little extra gift she gave Remi well 🙄

I did see that promo and I thought OH NO I was hoping it would be her going in for that 😗  and Remi would be backing off.

Irene is showing more signs of forgetfulness, mainly silly ones but leaving an iron on could be dangerous.  It may have been plugged in but  did Dana  switch it off before touching the plate?   Irene, obviously clicked she'd left it on.  Ok, it's been suggested Irene has dementia but it could be a  brain tumour, the symptoms have come on pretty quickly.  No bad damage done yet but what if she has a 'moment' while she's looking after Archie.

Talking of whom daddy's home and John has inadvertently dropped Harper in it -OOPS.   The old "I thought you knew" line.

Seems Maz is on in the secret that Roo didn't send Cohen's letter off to his mum. I still can't get why she didn't and why she didn't get rid of it instead of sticking it in a drawer - confused.com.   There is still time and as I said before it would be down to Samantha to return it unopened, open it and read it and reply to Cohen and tell him the truth that way Roo's conscience  would be clear.  Cohen obviously has some kind of education along the way and as an ex teacher Roo should be be able to give him some kind of assessment to see how good/bad it is.  Though , of course, she'll likely be thinking he won't be there that long if family are found.

I didn't know the actor who plays Mali had taken time  off to take part in DWTS.  Nice that Abagail heard from him  so that cheered her up.

Harper is so annoying that she actually makes me feel sorry for Tane, who's hardly covered himself in glory, having to deal with her constant self-absorbed attitude. Harper was the one that suddenly decided Archie wasn't going to go with Tane on a family holiday, and somehow she spins that as Tane abandoning him? The day care issue is a bit of a complex one: Fine if that's what you've agreed, but it feels like Harper did it at least partly to punish Tane.

It takes Marilyn to point out what was obvious a week ago: If Roo isn't going to tell Cohen the truth, then she needs to actually post his letters, not lie about that as well.Of course, her excuses for not telling him the truth are becoming weaker and weaker. She knows she's not going to have a grandmother turn up and take the hard stuff off her hands, so she now she's resorting to hoping Samantha changes her mind so she doesn't have to tell him.David's still gruff but is at least behaving vaguely human towards Cash since Harper had a word.

As Irene says, we've all left the iron on at one time or another (and don't expect people to just grab the hot bit without checking!). I guess it's the cumulative effect of it all that's concerning, and Irene nearly made a dangerous error in forgetting about Archie like that.

Maz does come across as a bit ditzy at times   but she made the same point I did about the letter and why she should post it and let Samantha chose. She'll be getting two now as Cohen has decided to write another one.  I did have the thought do the people at prisons still open letters/packagers sent to prisoners before passing onto to them?  Anyways, Roo has also asked David's opinion and if he could find out where she is being  held.  The longer Roo leaves it to tell Cohen the truth, if she does,  the harder it will be for all of them, he'd lose the trust he's built up with Roo.

David and Cash worked together well there, David was  a  bit taken about when Cash stood up to him but David acknowledged his help had been appreciated and Cash was able to distract Cohen so David was able to talk to Roo.  I think if David does get off his high horse he will know how good a cop Cash can be.    Harper cleverly acted a tad vague when Cash asked if she had had  a word with David about his change of attitude towards him.

Talking  of whom, methinks her attitude with Tane was that she was pissed off that Tane did go alone, he had paid for it after all, she was meant to go too but it was her decision not to  and  it was only for two weeks, not two months.   Archie was the first on his list to see, even though Harper wasn't that happy about it, but she did seem to soften when she saw him looking at Archie, then they had another blow up which woke Archie which she blamed Tane for  forgetting she was not the only one shouting.  I loved how Dana slapped her down about it though and after a night's sleep she agreed she was wrong and had texted/rang Tane to meet and talk about it.  Which would  have gone fine if John hadn't dropped that bombshell.  I don't know if they had talked about any day care for Archie or how it would be worked about who would look after him during the day.  Harper would have gone back to work at some point.  I'm guessing it's because Tane didn't get any say in it, like checking if this person is suitable which they would have if it was a joint decision.

Was Harper let down by this woman at the last moment which is why she asked Irene to look after Archie, if so she doesn't sound that reliable.

John was being discreet, for him, asking Dana  if she had noticed any change in Irene's behaviour, but it  will of course alert Dana now.   There was an 🐘 in the room at Salt when John and Irene were having their meal, namely no mention of Irene's memory problem until John forced the issue.

Well that came around quicker than I thought it would.  I did have that🕷️'dy  feeling  as soon as Harper asked Irene if she could look after Archie that something might happen.  Archie certainly timed it right and he has a good set of lungs on him as Irene was able to hear him through two closed doors.  It horrified her that she had left him when she saw that text message from Harper.  I know he was safe, but  that is not the point is it, who knows how long it would be before anyone came back home.  Harper was having a showdown with Tane, I guess Dana was at work  and that is where Irene was heading.  Hopefully, if that is the right word, she'll get John to take her to the docs and find out what is wrong.

Man, Harper's hard work. It's like they're trying to make her as annoying as possible.Tane apologises for something that he didn't need to apologise for and she still goes on acting as though the world revolves around her.Her apparent climbdown at the end just seemed to be them carrying on doing what they were already doing before her latest freak-out.Mind you, Jo apologised to Tane even though he was in the wrong, so there's that.

John practically had to drag it out of Irene but she got there in the end.And she's agreed to see her GP, if grudgingly. She's obviously in no hurry to tell anyone else though.

To try and forestall anyone getting the wrong end of the stick, Theo and David met last week. David says that he knew Lacey had a boyfriend. So when Jo said "That's Lacey's boyfriend", it's not because David doesn't know Theo is Lacey's boyfriend, it's because David's only just got there and hasn't seen it was Theo that was attacked yet.It was fairly daft of Theo to wave that money about in public, although the promo suggests a different reason for him being targeted. Leah's right that David shouldn't have backed off just because Lacey was being difficult, although his reasoning makes sense. Maybe he should have finished taking the statement and then handed it over to someone else? Jo did at least let Dana's charm win her over but she just escalated things with Lacey.

The John and Irene stuff was good but sometimes I do think people shouldn’t keep nagging Irene to remember her mistake that way she wouldn’t feel stupid or embarrassed instead the person struggling still feels respected John could probably have worked out what was wrong anyway

Lacey and Jo I still find them very dull to be honest

Confused.com🤔   - I think David knew Lacey had  a boyfriend but not who it was and that he met him last week, Theo wasn't introduced as Lacey's boyfriend  was he?  It was just said, if I remember correctly, 'this is Theo'.   That was quite a debacle at ND's. Lacey, to me, completely  overreacted when David was the cop to turn up, he was just doing his job  asking Theo questions he would have asked anyone, but then he had to ask if Theo thought it was connected to the RB's as of course he'd know about Theo's previous connection to them.  Wisely he has now, it seems, handed it over to Cash, as now it would also be a conflict of interest, his daughter is the girlfriend of the victim. Not  a good combination  of all the Langham's being in the same at the same time.  Jo, would take David's side but her outburst at Lacey as the end was totally unprofessional, in slightly mitigating circumstances Lacey shouldn't  have had a go at her, she was doing her job.  Levi had no choice but to intervene, not  a good look on her first day.  Leah had to explain/apologise for not having told David earlier that Theo and and Lacey were an item, but then that was none of her business, it was up to them, they are adults, so she did learn from her last mistake.

Seems, hopefully, Theo didn't  suffer too much damage internally when he hit the deck, he is only just getting over the crushing of his chest. It was interesting and kind of sweet how Leah and Lacey were with him, a couple of weeks ago Leah was banning Lacey having anything to do with him and now their like two mother hens clucking over him.

I knew as soon as I saw that striped jumper guy arriving at the Coffee Cart he'd be trouble.  It was utterly daft of Theo opening the bag in public.

I may be getting way ahead of myself, but as we saw striped jumper guy in the promo  I think he buys cars or other expensive stuff, insists on paying cash and follows the seller hoping they won't be taking the cash to the bank straight away and jumps them.  Mind you how do people suddenly  have $25,000 ,to hand. Luckily it seems Theo still had this guys info on his phone. So that is why Lacey seems to have persuaded Cash that they should lay a trap for him, he's taking  a risk  coming back to the bay so soon though.   Or could it be the RB's that weren't nicked  getting revenge - or is that too out there? She'd hate anyone saying it but she has got her dad's  cop instincts.

More hassle between Harper and Tane, which as said before would have gone better if  John hadn't dropped the day care news to Tane.   She did admit the main reason was she couldn't face a 'normal' family holiday was because of the way she still felt about him.  It seemed the suggestion now is they don't spend that much time together as  a 'couple' just as Archie's mum and dad  and Tane now seems OK about baby day care.  He did expect her to be a stay at home mum or did I get that wrong?

Of course it was the first time Jo and Tane have met since him fixing her fan belt, Tane didn't do anything wrong, well not in my eyes.  She was very snappy at someone who had stopped to help her.  She did look bemused when she saw him join Harper as of course she hasn't caught up on that gossip yet. Then David joins her and I thought was bigging her up which is what parents do but that can be detrimental to the kids as they feel they can't make any mistakes as they feel they'd be letting mum/dad down.

John can be very persistent when needs to be, he did get that panicked text message from Irene and did as she asked him to go to the Beach House ASAP so of course he'd be worried.  But then she kept trying to make light of it, but thankfully she told him the truth.   She was still denying she needs to see someone though which I get, Harper wouldn't let her anywhere near Archie, neither would Tane.  John did seemed glued to that chair, hope he bought than one cup of coffee/bun. Irene said she'd make an appointment to see her GP but will she?  Genuinely forget or 'forget'.

We did get  a touch of humour with Levi, Jo and Dana.  Dana reminding him that unlike Jo she knows her way around the hospital so wouldn't need to be shown around.  Then Levi, sneakily/cunningly - take your choice - charging Dana to show Jo round. 😁 It did work as they seemed to have reached an amical truce at the end of it.  Then of course Theo was rushed in and Dana was able to update Jo on his recent med history.

I'm not sure Tane wanted Harper to be a stay-at-home mum, I think it was more that he thought she should have asked him to look after Archie first before organising day care. (We've seen him express his belief that a child should stay with family before.) He wasn't wrong to stop and offer Jo help, but he was wrong to force that help on her by going behind her back and working on the car without her consent.

Anyway, today! Dare I say it but Lacey would actually make a pretty good cop? She needed Cash to do the heavy lifting but she made contact with a culprit and organised a sting all by herself. (I'm not sure what they're going to tell David though!) I had to rewatch scenes to get it clear that the guy hiding behind the tree in a baseball cap was the guy that mugged Theo, so presumably the guy Lacey spoke to was the guy Theo sold his car to and he had his mate standing by to steal the money back.Is that really the only two times they've tried it? Because if they've been running the scam over and over again, I'm not sure that makes the money Theo's, but okay, run with it.

Levi and Jo bond over having sisters who hate them and their fathers...but who perhaps aren't being entirely unreasonable in doing so?

We've had a few hints but looks like Kirby is going for good, to the point of cutting ties with Justin (or so he thinks) and breaking up the Lyrik trio. If that is going to be the last time she and Theo see each other and he's used up his episodes for the week, I'm glad we did at least get a proper goodbye scene between them. What's going to happen to Kirby and Avalon's collaboration now? Looks like the duet isn't going to happen if they're going to be in different continents but I hope Kirby does promote Avalon to her fans: I know Avalon's no saint, but she has given Kirby a lot of support.

I think Harper's behaviour towards Tani is pretty shoddy, it's like she's trying to punish him for not wanting a relationship with her, it's really childish. She should have apologised for standing him up at the airport, it's Ok her saying how she feels but it's not his fault, he's been honest with her and has stuck around to help bring up baby.

Harper's sister is similar with her attitude to Jo. Jo got the job as cardiac nurse because, surprise, she is a cardiac nurse. Dana needs to let it go and concentrate on her own career path.

And I can't believe Remi cavorting with Avalon, why go out for a burger when you have steak at home! I think this will be the final straw for Bree. Now the band has broken up I suppose Remi may as well hitch his wagon to Avalon.
