I'm lucky that I've got Freeview so haven't missed anything, you do have to remember which one it is you want to watch, I took the precaution of recording both.

Yep it does look like we've got ourselves a new RB leader as in Gage, I misread his name before.  Now Theo knows who Sonny's new 'mate' is when he  saw the tat, rubbish security at their hangout - I know it had CCTV - they've gone very upmarket and it's not cheap - but just that hook on the gate?  Theo seemed torn between not wanting to get involved with them, they dodged his questions about the cars and where they had come from and  what they were for and wanting to work on the cars, Gage is certainly not one to be messed with.  Then Theo saw Lacey, who  reminded me of Flick, which really got his engine overheating. Sonny for all he didn't know about the RB's caught on pretty quick that they weren't the sort to be messed with. They both agreed that was a one off but of course it won't be.  I thought that about Theo letting  Justin and Leah know about their new house guest. Leah will also need to be about as Justin has some big news for her as in he's now Kirby's manager.

It seems Remi had cancelled his card as Sonny found out to his cost - sorry no pun intended - when he went to pay at the Diner. It wasn't the money Remi was that bothered about it was the move on Bree.

🤣 when Justin just couldn't get Kirby's frantic hand movements behind Remi's back when he walked in and said hey great about the loan to set her up.  Thankfully it got sorted quickly and they must have heard me as it looks like it will  be a business arrangement.  Lovely that Remi hadn't forgotten how Kirby had  bailed them out with money from her royalties so he hadn't taken it for granted and if I heard it right he's letting her use the studio he bought/rented.  Moving on from  that a bit OK Eden is no longer in Lyrik which she is fine with but she doesn't know about Kirby's ne plans does she? How will she feel about it?

Rose was a right tease by letting Cash think she'd come to tell him bad news.  Human nature isn't it, when Cash said he wasn't that bothered about getting the promotion, then he got twitchy when 'they' weren't letting him know if he'd got it.  I'm guessing he didn't have to have an interview for it?

It did seem OK with Irene going back to work and whoever's idea it was she started off on the coffee cart got it right.   A smaller outlet in  the open air so she didn't feel enclosed, only serving coffee/tea and I think small snacks so not having to worry about taking any breakfast/lunch orders.  Good that Dana was able to stay with her as back up.   Did Cash really not know about her being in rehab or was he being diplomatic?  It appeared all her customers were glad to see her back and not all of them would know where she'd been.  But then she went walkabout and ended up in Salt, had it been too much, change of routine,  and was she testing herself  to see if she could get through it without hitting the bottle?

Oh and we briefly saw  Mac getting driven off in that black  car.  Had Dean upset someone?

As someone who only ever has the basic package of free channels, I'm again rather bemused at the idea of 5* not being as easy to watch as Channel 5. And failing that, there's always the website!

Anyway, for those of us who found the episode (I almost always watch the 6pm showing on 5* so it's business as usual here!), I must admit I forgot that moment of Sonny meeting Gage, the apparent new River Boy leader, yesterday, but he was hard to miss here.Theo realises these aren't the sort of people to mess with but quickly gets reeled in by a pretty face, not that I don't understand him liking the look of Lacey (as the credits named her) despite her odd choice of boyfriend! Sonny made a decent foil for him. Has Theo told Justin and Leah that they've got a new house guest? (And where is Leah? An episode with Justin, Theo, and Irene started back at the Diner, and she's conspicuous by her absence!)

Irene seemed to be doing well until she went missing on the trip back to the Diner. She assumed that everyone knows she's been in rehab, which begs the question of does Eden know if Irene's hoping to be served alcohol at Salt. Cash gets the promotion and Rose gets to break the news: Well, they weren't going to give it to one of the extras, were they? (Even Jo Devlin's bombed off to Reefton Lakes!)

Justin did a very good job of dropping Kirby in it there, but thankfully Remi's still in a good mood with her even if he's not with Sonny, and remembered all the times she's been the household's main breadwinner. Justin seems to be enjoying this management thing, even if he did forget the champagne!

Thing is I can get neither where I am: 5 Star or their website.  So can only watch on 5.  Forgot they did this last year too with the snooker.

Ah, right, yes, I seem to remember you're outside the normal region. I can see why that would be a problem.

Alf's episode count:Suspended. Not for the first time in recent months, Leah didn't appear at all even though I think she's still around. With Alf, John and Harper all away at the moment too, I can't help wondering if their wages were needed to fund the Queensland trip!

I can't say I'd missed Dean being a grump these last two episodes, although he did get some good one-liners in there. It was kind of interesting that he and Levi both made the decision to cut the trip short at around the same time.Maybe they've got more in common than they think although Levi also didn't know what to make of Dean a lot of the time.Mackenzie did at least make the point that Dean wouldn't like people to judge him on his past.It kind of feels like an interesting character drama has been derailed by the introduction of a couple of stock baddies.Someone should have reminded them that this kind of thing happens when you go on holiday in this show.

Good that Irene managed to resist temptation.Still not clear if Eden knows the full story behind her recent absence but Cash definitely does. Nice of the youngsters to pop in to check on Irene later and I'm glad Rose talked about her taking her and Xander under her wing: It's a shame Irene missed out on the chance to say goodbye to him.Anyway, it seems to have given her the confidence for take two!

I didn't experience any of the missed episodes as I always watch via the Channel 5 website (I have to get out of the mindset it's not My5 anymore).  I'm surprised more people don't do that actually.  But I guess we're a different generation.  Out of curiosity, earlier on in the week, I did watch part of the episode with Eliza and the bottle (I watched the bank holiday episode live on Channel 5 but I will almost never do that because I'm working).  The episode from the website also had the cut scene.

And a whole slew of them resurface.  They really are like cockroaches.

I wasn't enjoying the Dean/Levi stuff.  I think Levi has done more good than bad.  I do think what Dean is saying about once a cheater is correct in some cases is correct so I understand his concern.  Even though he's being quite unpleasant, part of me respects the fact he's not pretending and is very open about his disdain towards Levi.

Before we get into the nitty gritty of the story, they were lovely underwater scenes with all of those beautiful fish.  I bet the cast loved filming it Loved the look of  that chippy they went to.

I enjoyed seeing Dean again, he didn't hide his disdain of Levi but he shouldn't tar Levi with the same brush because of the way his and Mac's dad treated his and Mac's mum.  Rick was a serial cheat. Some men and women do fall in love with the woman/man they are cheating on their husband/wife with.   Levi didn't lead Mac on and keep telling her "It's not the right time to break up with Imogen as it's not the right time blah blah".   Levi intentionally  or not had digs at Dean. "Can you steer  a boat?", "Do you have a licence?".

Oh and apologies to Dean he hadn't upset anyone.  Just bad timing those escaped cons tipped up when they did looking to car jack a motor and Ziggy and Mac just happening to be there so of course they had to take them as hostages.  More bad timing that Levi and Dean had  gone off to have their talk.  Funny too how that lookout point was  deserted with just  Levi, Dean, Zac and Ziggy there, always the way isn't it?  Dean did spot the guys had prison gear on but then he would know about that. 😉 I'm guessing Levi will be putting in a call to the local plod to alert them?

No it wasn't  made clear  if Eden knew about where Irene had actually been, if she did and Irene  had asked for an alcoholic drink what she would have said/done.   Cash was lovely with Irene, not making  a fuss, just offering to take her home.  Irene had nothing to reproach herself for, she did resist temptation so should feel proud.  Wouldn't have been easy looking at all those bottles of booze so maybe as I thought she was testing herself but passed with flying colours.   It seems her  old routine isn't fitting  in with her life outside of rehab.  Back there everyone had the same routine  so were able to fit in with each other but now other factors come in so is  that why she switched off her watch that alerted her at 10'clock   you do this, at 11 o'clock  you do this and will be making a new routine?   Of course Irene also took Cash, Dana - along with Harper under her wing.

I don't think this stint is doing Dean any favours at all. It's feeling like a greatest hits version of hits that weren't even that great. As much as it'd be nice if the show could leave the River Boys alone, at least the current show portrays them as the sort of people anyone with any sense would give a wide berth.Dean being portrayed as heroic for stealing a car and torturing an injured man feels like a throwback to tropes the show seemed to have moved away from. Two kids with a third on the way, a long-term relationship and possibly earning an honest living (although we haven't been given much clue as to what, if anything, Dean does for a living these days), and at heart he's still a little boy playing cowboys and indians and not wanting the police to spoil his fun.Not that the police are anything more than their usual inefficient selves, failing to notice not one but two stolen cars turning away from their road block.Oh well.At least Mackenzie and Levi are aware of Ziggy's pregnancy, even if this wasn't the circumstance anyone wanted them to find out.We don't get many details about the escape but Todd comes across as someone just caught up in it.

The recap of "Everything Dean's done for the last week, relevant or otherwise" left me fearing we'd spend the entire episode in Queensland but thankfully we had some normal stuff back in the Bay.Irene seems more like her old self and Rose is quietly winding down.Justin really needs to learn to read a room, that's twice he's casually told someone about Kirby's solo career and left everyone face-palming.I can understand Eden's frustration that they pretty much seem to be restarting Lyrik without her.

Dean has reverted to type but he's trying to save Ziggy who's pregnant and his sister.  His past experience as an ex con did come in handy though, though how he knew where the local nick was wasn't explained so knew where they would be heading.  Where were all these people who left their cars?  Apparently you can still hot wire new cars then.  Levi did have a 💡 moment checking the local radio to find out who those two ex cons were and how much danger Ziggy and Mac were really  in. To be fair the cops on the road block wouldn't have known those cars were stolen.  But yeh Queensland cops do seem to have the same mindset as Yabby Creek cops.  Handy that the roads both cars were driving on were so straight so they were so easy to follow.   Levi, of course is the more level headed but he did threaten Todd that he'd let Dean off his leash if he didn't tell them where Roscoe was taking Ziggy and Mac. Did Dean leave SB to take up a new job as surfing instructor along with Ziggy?

I imagine  everyone back in SB will thinking Mac and Levi are having  such a  super time which is what they haven't heard from them.

At least it was back to normal in the bay - It did seem Irene was back to her usual self, she was  a lot more relaxed, joking with Rose about it being her last shift before she went to the city.  Lovely that she thanked Bree and Rose for their talk.

Justin definitely wins the foot in mouth award.🏆 People really do need to learn to speak to each other.  Eden appeared to take it well in front of Kirby but not when they were out of earshot.  Remi offering to be Kirby's producer will also give him some purpose and something to spend his money on, plus he'll need it to take on Forrest if he's planning to get Kirby's rights to her songs back.  I don't think Eden is that bothered about Lyrik not starting up again, Theo has got his new purpose - fixing cars, Kirby has hers and now Remi, she didn't want to take up Remi's suggestions she be a session musician, she wants something that'd be hers.

I was mostly left disappointed that Levi was so quick to indulge Dean's psychotic behaviour. There was no need to shut Todd in a boot, it was pure sadism, they could just as easily have stuck him in the back seat and maybe even had Levi looking after him there, it's not like he was in any shape to try anything. Levi taking the blame for stealing the car wasn't really the heartwarming moment the episode made it out to be either, especially with Dean and Karen being their usual charmless selves. It doesn't help that the ending was a complete anti-climax. After we've been told Roscoe's really dangerous, he doesn't put up any fight with Dean at all, and the show demonstrates a rather casual attitude to how dangerous waving lit matches around near accelerant is.

Back in normal land, Rose is saying her farewell. I'm sorry to see her go: It's been very refreshing to have a police officer who's both good at her job and professional, rather than one who's turning a blind eye to her friend's crimes or abusing her position. So it's a shame we're stuck with Cash, who isn't as good. I know she and Mali were close once but it feels like we've long since moved on from then so I'm not sure a farewell was needed. I don't object to it but I'd rather have spent more time on her last scene with Cash, although it's nice she had one anyway. There's a touch of Ryder and Bella about the fact they looked like they could have been more than friends at one point but the fact they have stayed friends in a way makes it more special. It's a shame John isn't around for the wave-off, because Rose was probably fonder of him than most people are.

I wonder how Forrest will react to Remi pretty much being able to offer a blank cheque! And I notice Remi seems to be getting on better with Cash now Sonny has taken the focus of his ire! I wondered if Karen was still with Brett when she made that comment about her fella last week so nice to get confirmation.
