Well, after Dana optimistically predicted that everything would be great between Tane and Harper last episode, she gets confronted by the reality here. It's not that they're not getting on, they just aren't really doing anything except trying not to not get on. Harper's finally twigging that they'd have been better off staying friends, although I guess they've got Archie out of it, so not a complete disaster. But okay, see if they can get back to a better place then.

Justin's attempts to hang out with John had mixed results then. I was convinced he was going to miss lunch with Leah when John invited him for a long catch-up. As it was, Leah ended up inviting John to join them but it was a bit more transparent.I'm surprised anyone agreed to the trivia night.

After a comment from Mali last week about Abigail being messy, he finally cracked.Still, Abigail did seem to acknowledge he'd got a point after two weeks of sleeping in an unmade bed so...

Both Harper and Tane were feeling the same then, apart from very stilted conversations they weren't conversing normally.  Harper and Tana's boot camp lesson from an outsiders point of view and even Dana's looked like every was OK but they were concentrating on what they were doing and not much talking was going on. Dana's suggestion to have Cash around more was not helpful as he'd just be there to fil in any awkward gaps.   Both of them were asking other people's advice in Harper's case it was Dana in Tane's it was Levi and Mac but they all said the same talk to the person involved, rather like when Levi and Mac were having trouble talking to each other about whether to go ahead about having another go at IVF.  Did chuckle at Harper when she said she couldn't wait until Archie started talking so she could have a normal conversation - proves  she does have  a sense of humour after all.  Anyways they both bit the bullet and addressed the 🐘 in the room

Friends can become lovers and then become friends again but as said there is Archie.  They both love him so not a complete disaster.

John is a proud man and doesn't want anyone's pity and just wants everyone to see him as he normally is.  Was  a big hint though he's feeling adrift him wanting to hold  a meeting so he could be round other people even if it's just the Surf Club Committee.  Leah has Justin, Maz has Roo and Alf Dana and Harper have each other, he doesn't have anyone else.

A reversal on the usual theme that it's the bloke who's messy with Milo nagging Abigail making a mess, leaving her earrings on the floor, putting damp towels in the laundry bin.  Her excuse about being the youngest so was allowed to get away with it at home didn't wash with Milo, he was the youngest and he was a lad, but knowing his mum she wouldn't make allowances for that.  OK, it's her car so she could be messy in that but she did acknowledge  she should make more of an effort.

All caught up (shotgunned 4 in a row)

Lol Palmer's party. I suppose it's natural as Irene is gone, Jett lives in the city (may as well be the moon) and god knows when he last spoke to Shandi, he *would* feel like the odd bloke out. And I don't think Silver Dreams or Smouldr would be up his street if he were to get back in the dating game

Yawn Lacey, Yawn Remi and Yawn Abi

Chuckled at Mali's Dumpster dive

And Bree....

Alf's episode count this week:Five, for the second week running.Only Leah, Marilyn, Justin and David managed three.

I know it's easy to be wise after the event but no-one seemed to have any sense of personal safety around an aggressive and unpredictable patient. The sedation didn't seem to have any effect at all (possibly it was counteracted by something in his system?), so restraining him might have been sensible. Judging by the promo, Levi might not make that trip to Mackenzie's Mum with Bree going critical. (And we probably wouldn't see it if he does.) I liked that Bree might have appreciated the party but she appreciates having the flat to herself for the night just as much!

While she was probably expected to stick it out for more than a week, wasn't Harper only supposed to be staying with Tane permanently until she and Dana found somewhere together? Has that gone? The way Tane was talking he seems to be expecting them to stay there until Archie's eighteen, which doesn't seem very practical.

Mali proves that love is searching through everyone's rubbish to find a family heirloom. Of course, he'd have been better off checking what he was throwing out in the first place but the thought was there. I must admit I'd largely forgotten that Jimmy gave Eden that necklace, I guess that's come up again for a reason?

I liked the reference to John and Justin's previous golfing experience and Justin still being banned!

Incidentally, John's six weeks until his Paris trip would seem to coincide with UK finale week.

Probably be critical of Levi and his history, given her own experiences of Rick messing around on her if it was shown on screen

Well, that would kind of just be a repeat of what happened with Dean. At least Mackenzie gave some warning this time!

Don't you just love the way everyone drops their work commitments to go swanning off somewhere?  Levi busy setting up his new unit at the hospital and I'm sure has plenty of other work to do, but hey, let's just drop all that to go off and meet Mac's mom.  🤪

Reminiscent of Ailsa constantly popping out and expecting whoever to hold the fort😂😂😂😂

(I suspect you've seen THAT compilation!)

That guy was brought in unconscious so they, Bree ,Jo and the others wouldn't know how aggressive he would be once he came round.  Oops, just re watched it and the paramedics did say he was combative. The paramedics did say though he smelt of drink and maybe on drugs. Not making excuses for him but he would have found himself in a strange place with all these people around him, probing and prodding him.  Plus they would have dealt with patients coming round and getting stroppy before now, part of the job for anyone working in an emergency department.  Not very wise though Bree having to deal with him on her own and nothing to do with her being a woman. It did look like they soon found her and he'd disappeared and runs into Harper.

Bree did seem to appreciate that time on her own, putting her feet up and having a drink, very good of them leaving that bottle of wine for her.

Harper seemed disappointed she had been left out of the party but it was very impromptu.   Glad she and Tane had that talk, another one,  and her looking at places to rent for her and Archie, but who is going to look after him while she's at work, at least at Cash's Tane would step in.  The look on her face when she was looking at Tane singing to Archie was lovely.  Ethan Browne is very good with the little lad(s) who plays Archie, not all actors/actresses are comfortable acting around kids his age and they know it. Archie looked a tad bemused when Tane was singing the haka to him. Has Harper not heard the Abba song Thank You for The Music?   Does he need his hat on indoors though?  Harper does seem to have moved on, talking about dating a new man and was  encouraging Tane to take up with Jo.

I reckon Mac must have told her mum about Levi by now, it has been two years since they got together and Levi is nothing like Rick was.    Levi seemed to be OK about it but did appear to be  a tad relieved that he had to go to the hospital and now he's going to be further delayed. Mayhap he was worried how  Tanya would behave towards him. 🤔

Mali rummaging in the bin for Abigail's pendant was a real sign of love if ever I saw one though he nearly gave Alf a heart attack when he popped up.  She, Abigail,  was obviously going to treat Mali  that night - cough, cough, nudge, nudge,  a nod is as good as a blink to a blind horse for finding it which is why he was encouraging Mac and Levi to leave that night.

Another reference to Irene when Leah was talking about that meal she and Irene planned together, Leah wanting anchovies in the dish and Irene vetoing it but they reached a compromise by putting the anchovies on a separate side dish.  Anchovies are an acquired taste, I like them, but Justin obviously doesn't. 😁   It's good TOTB are still mentioning her but not overdoing it.

Golfing is out then?  Who else is Justin roping in for John's night?
