ezaz8 Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 In Australia schools only have about 5 weeks off in summer, normally from a few days before Christmas untill near the end of January. my moan: I have to leave for uni now but its bloody raining and my ideas of fun don't include walking to the bus stop in rain and then getting damp smell on my clothes as a result, so I guess I'll just wait it out. Stupid lamo Melbourne weather I used to have 8/9 weeks summer holiday and a month at christmas, and a month at easter! it was a boarding school though... do you have a long "winter" holiday (do you call it that?) like july/august?

Schools here have 2 week breaks in March, July and October. I'm at uni now, and my uni summer holidays are loooooooooooong (mid-November to early-March). The winter holidays are about 4-6 weeks long plus you get week-long mid semester breaks aswell.
KaitieL Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 When I was at school, we used to get two weeks in June/July, and September, about a week and half over Easter and depending what grade you were in at high school, at least six weeks over December/January. Once you got to grade ten you had an extra two weeks.

It all went out the window this afternoon. And after a hot chocolate fudge sundae from Macca's, I do feel a little better. Or it could be just the tablets I took for my headache.
