Not dissing Remi or Adam Rowland in any way, but he does look older than 31, perhaps it's the beard.

True.  Some of the  Cast of Cheers lived a hard 30s in places lol.

On today's

Not really with Remi/Bree/Mum and Dad and I'm over the Felicity Newman "Woe is Me" Pity Party Tour 2023.

I think beards can make people look older. It has been mentioned Remi was at school with Eden and has known Kirby since they were teenagers so...are they around 31 as well? Anyway, confirmation today for those not reading ahead that it's the 35th anniversary.Unless it's different in Australia, Nicola's wrong about it being emerald: As I remember from my parents', it's coral. (I think emerald is 55.) Previous references have suggested a slightly tense relationship between Remi and his parents, whilst conversely, despite dodging questions about them here, I seem to remember Eden discussing her family with Mackenzie once. Things seemed jovial here, until awkward subjects came up. I do feel for Remi a bit, since he probably felt it wasn't his story to tell and didn't want it coming out during a social occasion. But given his parents were obviously expecting Bree, I wonder what he did tell them about her.

Felicity was firmly back in Own Worst Enemy mode, lashing out pointlessly at Mackenzie and indulging in self-sabotage.I give Mackenzie a lot of credit for still trying to be a friend to her, and Xander was a star once again.Felicity did apologise but proceeded to ask a bit much of Mackenzie by giving her the ring.Similarly, I liked that we touched base on Cash and Rose's friendship.

Not sure what to make of the Mackenzie and Felicity thing.  I do think Felicity is entitled to loyalty because if it wasn't for her Mackenzie's business would have gone under and you can argue Felicity's probably done more for her than Tane has.  Although, I do think Felicity owed Mackenzie something as she got her involved in the Poker nights, Mackenzie ended up getting a criminal record and kept Felicity out of it.  I'm glad Felicity apologised and irrespective of what happens with her and Tane, I hope she can maintain her friendship with Mackenzie.

35th Wedding Anniversary is coral so Graham did get it wrong, are we to assume - sorry - from that he hadn't brought Nicola a present that contained coral?  Bloody hell that was some pad they live in, we saw their holiday home but wow!  I know Eden said they were mega loaded but wow that was jaw dropping. Nicola and Graham seem pretty down to earth folk, though Nicola had to break off greeting Bree to talk to her chef. ? Is it just going to be the four of them if so going OTT a bit what with the musical ensemble.   Going off on a tandem somewhat how old would you say they are?  Picking  a random age of them being 25'ish when they married, it would make them now 60'ish.

It wasn't down to Remi to tell his parents about Bree's situation when he met her, fine  her being a doctor no probs there, but the rest of it is for her to tell or not - but he could have given her  the heads up  what he did or didn't tell them.  Nice little chat between father and son, I think from what has  been said before there was some tension when Remi walked away from their lifestyle but Graham did say he was proud of what Remi had achieved and by himself.  Oh btw didn't he look good in  a suit -  thought at first he wasn't wearing anything under it but then I saw it was a dark shirt when he unbuttoned it. I thought Remi went to private - musical ? school along with Savannah.

I did have to  giggle regarding  the possible unintentional word play about food when Remi asked his folks to stop grilling Bree.

That was a neat ducking out of Bree's questions by Eden by going back to talking about Remi's parents.   It did come across to me at least  it's a touchy subject for her.

I liked how Eden was there for Cash and following on from Rose's advice to contact the suspension board to see how his case is going, she encouraged him to call them. OK maybe they can't give him an answer but doesn't hurt to ask does it?  More good advice from Eden re Felicity about letting her go off and do her own thing.   Cash has always felt responsible for her being the older brother but can't always fix everything.

Mac really took both barrels from Flick maybe deserving of it or not depending on people's POV.  The whole Flick saying people could eat there for free and Mac saying no they have to pay  debacle  didn't exactly show the place in it's best light.  Poor Xander, not knowing who to 'obey'.  Felicity's not the best packer is she the way she just flung things in her bag.  It did deflate her mood when she saw Tane's ring.  Guessing she took it to the farm as after not being able to find him to able to return it in person, Mac was the next person in line.   She did apologise to Mac and said she'd return the money.  I wonder, though could be way off, if she may go and see Gary. ?

He went to a private boarding school alongside Mercedes, but he was expelled when he 'borrowed' the rugby team minibus to take a group of students to a gig. So he ended up at the high school where he met Eden, Kirby and Bob ?

Loved the fact they were playing music from one of my favourite musicals, Kismet, always puts me in mind of dear friend who's far away.

I think Remi was in some ways caught between a rock and a hard place because it's not really his story to tell as such, also it's not exactly something you chat about over champagne and canapes, great to see though how astute his parents were though and that they were a kind of emotional tag-team in supporting them. That kind of subject is always a minefield in a lot of ways.

Felicity's flippancy and general tantrum throwing was on show as per, glad to see there might be a tiny speck of sense in her getting out of there for a while.

I think Tane's hurting like crazy and he wants it to stop, his reactions  show that but also when you are in pain, mental or physical, it drives you sometimes and also wondered in another thread,

Spoiler

whether they would be setting him up for a breakdown style storyline. He would be the perfect candidate in one sense, as Mali reaction showed and Mac putting him straight, Tane, like many men, isn't a talker and his charging ahead 'I'm fine, stop asking' is a kind of marker

; I think blocking Flick was a sensible idea, however permananent or temporary, to have that detachment might just be the thing because being faced constantly with it, can lead to all kinds of trouble, kind of like taking a aspirin for headache if you like. Which also could explain his lack of reaction to her about the money last week, he doesn't want her to have that satisfaction of seeing him suffer but I wondered also he might go to NZ to explain to them personally what's happened for both decency and support reasons.

One thing that struck me was what could be seen as a double standard  was Flick's tone when said to Mac about the ring. 'He's my husband and he needs to remember that.' came across with a possessive air but as a female she could get away with it but vice vrsa would be seen negatively.

I'm glad Eden told Cash to put himself first for a change, he deserves a life too and cleaning up Felicity's trails of destruction through life isn't good for anyone, she may not act like it but she is an adult now and sometimes we have to face the consequences and stand on our own two feet no matter how hard but I do get for him how hard it is to let go, curse of being a good older sibiling sadly.

Tane's turn to hit the self-destruct button, which kind of reinforces the feeling that he and Felicity are a bit rubbish individually without the other one to ground them.He was okay when he could have a neutral conversation with Mackenzie and Mali, but he's deluding himself in thinking he can just say "The marriage is over" and never have to talk to Felicity again. And now it's spilling over into other aspects of his life. I was rather amused at the last scene of him loudly announcing his marriage is over to a bunch of extras who are probably thinking "Who are you?"

I thought Harper and Dana couldn't afford to join the gym? I guess they're not having to pay for a lawyer anymore, but as they pointed out, they don't have an income either.Anyway, I like Dana's attempt to be civic-minded.

Bree and Remi got to tell his parents the whole story eventually. I'm guessing that ring Graham gave Nicola was meant to be emerald: Did he buy the one thing and just tell her that 35's emerald?!

Thanks for the reminder and it was Mercedes , don't know where I got Savannah from.

There were more people at Graham and Nicola's party, not that we saw much of them, just floating about in the background.   The quartet were very good, not overpowering so ? to them.  I do know the music they were playing but can't think of it's name.

Good to see Bree got why Remi hadn't filled in his mum and dad about 'her' story.  It wasn't  a subject you could just drop into a conversation.  It was much better, if that is the right word, that it was  just the four of them.  Mum seemed more understanding than dad did.  Of course, I forgot Remi didn't tell them about his injury to his hand which is why they had that quizzical look on their faces.  I did spot that look on Bree's face when Remi was saying that could be us in 35 years time.   Not saying she's doubting they would be, but she likely thought her and Jacob would be together a long time too.

Tane is unravelling so fast, but has been said he's a male so doesn't like admitting he's struggling.  Harper asked quite innocently how he was doing, she has no idea of what has happened, just thought he looked  a little stressed.   Hence his BIG announcement.  Two sides of the coin, he needs to distance himself from Flick's constant calls, but he is going to have to talk to her at sometime and the longer he leaves it the worse it's going to to be.   Needed a little bit of light heartedness which came with Mai's house rules and the fact he's a neat freak.   How many times have we seen women dump their wedding rings so a change to see a bloke do it, well rescued Mac. He may change his mind about it later.

? Mali for standing up to Mac and refusing to be drawn into interfering or 'helping' with Tane and Felicity, he hardly knows either of them really so nothing to do with him, she's turning into Roo/Leah.  Sadly though from what we saw, Tane drags him into it.

At least Dana has been booked  to do some work at NDH.  Ah the old 'you're too over qualified' line for Harper.  I'm guessing they may have had savings to be able to pay Irene rent and dine out. I'm guessing there is is going to be very good reason for Irene warning Dana about John's training methods seeing as she wants to join the Bronze Life Saving group.

It was 'And This is My Beloved' from the musical Kismet. ?

Loved the 'Love Actually' reference and John's 'I wish I'd never shown her that film' ? Though I know he was grouchy being decaffinated as it were but I did agree with him picking up Banjo on being late purely because he bumped into a mate; I know they're not lifesavers yet but it would be the same ethic for a paid job, you don't just roll in when you feel like it if you're meant to be there at a certain time.

I'm glad Tane kind of opened up to Mali, you're right H&Alover, because he's a 'macho man' he's not meant to show he's struggling but also you can see it's raw and he knows in his heart of hearts he can't avoid her forever but the idea of facing someone after something like that, no matter how necessary is never easy .
