2023 Season - UK Episode Discussion

Of course it's an abandoned building,? looked like some kind of industrial plant, they always appear when they are needed.  I think the BIG clue it had to do with Vita Nova was THE END IS NEAR slogan painted on the wall. I think Justin said that it to Leah, it did look plenty old though. Are they really going to leave them there to die?  Didn't have much of a clue how long they had been there, but I'm guessing overnight as it is the day of Kirby's Launch Night. Pity it was pretty dark in there so we couldn't really see much of what was going on. Shut up Leah Justin was trying to concentrate and didn't need you telling him to being careful.   How did Vita Nova get them there, I guess we in the UK will have to wait until next year to find out.

One thing and just my opinion wouldn't them in the bay eg. Theo, Irene and Marilyn be expecting  calls from them or being sent emails boasting about how super this place is and really rubbing their noses in it - food is fantastic, sending photos "Look at the pool", "Look at the hotel", "Look at our room".  Most people would and Justin definitely would.

But was it 'just the drink talking' as Tane trying to say is what happened and why he said what he did?  As the old saying goes in vino veritas.  I think he was trying to cover himself so he didn't feel he was pressurising  Felicity.  I saw her face when she said yes and hugged him she was still smiling so not faking it just to make him happy.   I dare say knowing Flick she will waver back and forth, but and a BIG but it is being assumed both are fertile.  Is Tane firing on all cylinders and is Flick able to become pregnant and carry a baby full term?

Eden may well know Remi better than Bree and saying she's wearing her doctor's head over his mood but then again Bree has seen a different side to Remi because of their relationship.  Methought, although they both felt betrayed by Kirby's desertion, they were having second thoughts about not attending and it looked like I was right we did see them there.  Theo, don't forget, was double dumped he & Kirby broke up, she left the band but he's going.  Kirby made an shock announcement!?

Justin has been injured so many times at this point that I’m starting to hope he’ll die so we don’t have to keep going through this rinse and repeat spin cycle.

Ah but he's the new Six Million Dollar Man or however much he'd cost nowadays.??

So we go out on a triple cliffhanger with Leah and an injured Justin in a death trap, Irene arrested and, er, Kirby stuck in a contract with Forrest.

Well, I guess we finally know what it takes to get Leah to agree to get married again! If Justin had known that, he might have got himself kidnapped and crushed earlier.Lucky there's so many pillars with convenient foot and hand-holds about: Vita Nova probably should have taken that into account! I kind of assumed the graffiti was random but I guess someone might have decided to taunt them.

Some good stuff between Irene and John, with John equal parts helping a friend and getting himself some free help. Rose gives encouraging words but obviously no-one told her it was the UK season finale: The top brass were obviously waiting until then to make their move. Guess we'll see where it goes but seems a bit jobsworthy.

Eden and Remi had the right to make their choice but ultimately weren't able to stay away.As it turns out, Kirby is as uncomfortable with the situation as they are, which she really really should have figured out before she blew Lyrik up and made it so there's not really a band for her to come back to even if Forrest does let her out of her contract. And realistically, there's no way he'd do that, but we'll see.I wonder if Eden might finally realise Bree might have a point after that reaction from Remi.

Ah, right so last night was the final episode, nice of Channel 5 to mention it at the end! ? it's like they don't give a toss. Not even confirmed it's going at air in 2024 on the crummy channel.

I'm sensing some sarcasm here but not quite sure what about. I checked what James Stewart mentioned at the end and he (or rather whoever wrote his autocue) does seem more interested in directing people to My5 than giving them detailed info, but "From next week, catch classic episodes of Home and Away on My5 to keep you entertained over our Christmas break" kind of implies all that, doesn't it?

Too much Kirby (though decent voice, generic lyrics) ,not enough Leah/Justin

Irene spoke her fate into existence, thrn again who hasn't.

That Graffiti don't inspire confidence, does it?!

I guess this a good place to leave the needle.

And with classics let's hope we get some VARIETY!

They didn't show the 6pm repeat of Friday's C5 ep on 5Star, so am wondering if some confusion may have come from that.

The repeats are mostly the usual C5 fare I'm afraid:

I'm sure everyone will love seeing the diner hold-up again, representing a 'memorable moment' from the late 90s.

And of course the 'memorable moment' of Don Fisher's departure is anything but, as they've chosen his last appearance from 2007.

They've done what?!

I mean, I guess it shows they at least want to keep the show in the public mind over the break, and I'm quite looking forward to seeing Leah's first appearance, which was right near the end of the ITV era and which I haven't seen since 2000.(I assume they've got the right one for that?)

In case anyone's still confused, James Stewart (AKA the guy that plays Justin) appeared over the closing credits of yesterday's Channel 5 episode, mostly to announce that classic episodes would be available over the Christmas break, but also to indirectly say that there is a Christmas break.
