I'm guessing ATEOTD is "at the end of the day"? Huh, is it worrying I can think like a teenager?

Yup but Teenage years looooong since bypassed me (Thank F...)

I'd rather have a young mind in the back end of my 30s than be a miserable old get.?

Back to H&A, Marilyn forcing her choices on folk is like that old Marmite ad where they're literally trying force it down people's throats!?

(Personally,  I like  the stuff)

Alf's episode count:Suspended. Still a sparse week, with only Irene, Leah, Marilyn and Justin managing three episodes.

Leah and Justin were enjoying having the house to themselves as only they can, and are lucky Marilyn didn't just walk in on them.Justin seems to have backed off from praying for her to move out soon though.Instead, he seems to have decided to move out himself. He insists it's a coincidence.

John was brilliant today, managing to be funny, sweet, wise and a little bit crotchety all at the same time. I loved his "Have they got any biscuits?" and the fact he actually considered saying he got used to the constant racket to be a compliment. And he managed to give Remi and Bree some food for thought as well, and got them talking, with Remi explaining about how this feels like a backward step.

Well, we start off with Mali putting his foot down with Xander over the hen nights, but it didn't take long for him to be on the back foot. Zara seemed charming at first, even though Mali looked as though his nemesis had caught up with him, but she seems to be assuming an awful lot expecting to just rock up on a whim and stay with him.

Oh, and the back end of my 30s are a distant memory...

I can see in once sense why Remi's cracking a bit because he's tried to buffer Eden's breakdown especially but I think he's hurting a lot more than he lets on.

He was right about what he said to Kirby, that aside she really needs to leave them alone, things may heal in time but right now, it's not that place.

Spoiler

Wondering if the whisky scenes are hinting at an alcoholism storyline down the road?

Regardless of her feelings towards Marilyn, I think Roo is right about a private nurse, even if it's for your own sanity; sometimes you just want your family to be just that, family, not carers.

Marilyn harping on and on was annoying, yes she wants to 'care' for Roo but latter I think wants to test her independence a bit too, that's normal and, yeah, you might struggle a bit, even make mistakes but that doesn't mean you need taking over, which seems to be Marilyn's default setting. The look of semi-defeat in Roo's eyes was sad, because that can be just as draining and heartbreaking as the physical stuff.

I feel like no-one gave Roo space when she got home, by all means be nearby, but peace and quiet. Hospitals are often the noisiest places and you rarely have true privacy and I think that was all Roo wanted, even just for half an hour.

Wish I had a pretty promised wife like Zara She kinda looks like Rose I think which is abit freaky

Made a pact with a old girlfriend but 40 we would get married if single I haven’t heard from her yet oh well lol

I see Remis point wanting to do music With me it was wanting to do a acting course but couldn’t get up the stairs so got put to do a theatre makeup course instead I was the only guy on course a room full of girls wasn’t the problem I liked that part it was having a pink makeup bag that I quit the course quickly I couldn’t go around carrying a bright pink bag

I'm a Marmite fan too so that's three of us!?  I'm a young 73 year old so I've got plenty of years on you.  You can get miserable 20 year olds.

At least with Leah there there are two of them to close Maz down if she gets too pushy with her choice of food.   Did smile when Leah said she rather liked it just being the two of them - no offence Theo.  What I could understand of it then Maz will be staying at  at Roo's until this nurse/carer turns up.  Roo is independent but she's only just come out of hospital so has to allow people to look out for her, wouldn't like it if she had to go back there would she because she fell over?

I like it when John does his wise citizen role with a touch of humour thrown in. He gave both Remi and Bree a  shoulder to cry on so to speak, listened to both their worries and gave good advice.  Remi needed that ride, even if Bree was concerned he'd have an accident as he may be have not been concentrating, but it cleared his head.  That beach Remi stopped at can't have been very far  from their place as John walked there, had Remi did a full circle of the bay from home?

I thought the same about Zara and how much she looks like Rose.  May have been a subconscious thing that drew Mali to Rose? That was a cool meeting between them - seeing as he had never mentioned her before but then Rose must have ex's she hasn't told Mali about. It seems a promised bride is a tradition in some Maori cultures but not Mali's - we hope so anyway.   It could be a mum thing - women who have been friends for yonks have children and they say "Oh they will be husband and wife when they grow up, they are meant to be together".

Our last week of H&A until the New Year make the most of it.

I like that Xander, in an incredibly awkward way, filled in Rose without being unnecessarily dramatic and loved his casually pointing out that Rose was hanging around Salt instead of dealing with the situation.I don't really blame Mali for letting someone he's known since childhood stay, or even for not immediately kicking Zara out when she made it clear she wasn't just there to reminisce about old times, but I wasn't keen on the way he was with Rose next day: For someone who's done nothing wrong, he's doing a good job of acting as though he has.

I'm wary of Bree suggesting Remi see a counsellor, although I do agree he's showing some symptoms of depression.I appreciate him trying to pick himself up and make the best of his situation but the lack of appetite was worrying.

While I give Marilyn credit for being a good friend and encouraging Leah and Justin to go off and enjoy themselves, I cheered Roo tearing a strip off her for her hypocrisy in refusing to tell Alf a white lie when she's been happy to lie for selfish reasons. We haven't had many scenes in the caravan park house recently so I found myself looking at the photos on the fridge trying to identify them. I was puzzled by one of Raffy and Bella, until I realised it was Ryder, Raffy and Bella, which makes sense. One of VJ, Billie and Luc, which was nice to see but a bit odd given that Leah moved out years ago.And the bottom one? My best guess was Hunter, Olivia, Matt and Evie, although my other guesses included Roo, Leah, Justin and even Coco or Maggie!

Poor Xander, he was in  a tight spot, he didn't want to tell Rose too much but it's down to Mali to introduce Zara to her, but given Rose is a cop, he couldn't completely get away.  How could he describe Zara, she is a good looking woman, but how could he say it without either making it seem he's just a male checking her looks out or making it sound she's ordinary and nothing for Rose to worry about. She did rock up with the pizza in a not too obvious casual way.   Tad awkward intro, both women eyeing each other up.

I wonder and just my thinking, if maybe Zara's new life away from  Mantaray  Point hadn't worked out like she thought/hoped it would which is why she's come back and found out Mali has done pretty good for himself. She'd gone to uni - studying whatever so obviously clever.  She had asked Mali to join her but back then he felt he couldn't leave his family and possibly would have felt out of his depth.   Now she's getting all shirty because now he has left his family built up a good business and not sat around waiting for her to come back like he said he would.  A lot of young couples would have been like that, one goes off to uni, the other stays behind for whatever reason. They swear they'll always bve there for each other but life gets in the way, it did seem they hadn't been in touch for awhile. May be a bit cynical of me but does Zara think Mali has a part share in the Farmhouse so thinks he's better off than he is.

I can see how Rose may have felt, it would have been a bit awkward Mali having his current girlfriend staying over when his 'old' girlfriend is staying there.  Zara did appear to be coming onto him but he totally resisted.  It wouldn't be Mali to kick her out tough it'll be very tense with just the two of them.   Mali was going to talk to Rose which we are due to see today so we'll have to see how that goes.

Bree, partly seeing it as a doctor, suggesting Remi see a counsellor but it isn't for everyone, though he did say he'd give some more thought if he still felt the same way after the latest band sessions had  finished.  She ought to know, and we certainly do going by previous sl's when people are told they have to see a counsellor, you can't force someone. if they don't want to.

I always thought Leah was the more sensible half of her & Justin but she is just as bad in wanting to dash off on this holiday. What happened to her asking "What radio station, how did they get your name, who entered your name in this competition?"   Shouldn't Irene - who has seemingly vanished - be informed as to what is going on? Not saying nuffin but if we've read our TV mags or seen it online, it's not as clear cut as it appears.   Anyways neither of them seem to be thinking of Theo having Maz dumped on him when Roo gets her live-in nurse/carer.  Oh yeh just an afterthought -  what about the garage and his tutoring Theo.?

Talking of which - TV mags - two had an article with Ada and James and regarding something that is said in this weeks sl, he said Leah had had four husbands, three of whom had died so he didn't want himself maybe having questions about his future  both as James & Justin. Now unless I've missed something she's only had three, Vinny who died, Dan who died and Zac who escaped - sorry - she divorced.?

There were some home truths  coming out there  but maybe Maz doesn't want to lie anymore after that last big one being found out - but Roo hasn't had an exactly unblemished past has she?

I have to say, I'm warming to Dana after she seemed rather flakey in her early appearances. She's starting to believe as this kind of reformed party girl who wants to do good. And ironically, the episode starts off with Harper being the one with a secure career and Dana being the one not sure what she's going to do with her life, and then by the end it's the other way round in a role reversal Cash and Felicity would be proud of. I was a bit worried when Dana evaded the questions about her last job so was glad she was honest, because it would have been worse if Roo had found out for herself. As it turns out, a few seconds of Marilyn's company was enough to convince Roo that hiring Dana was a swell idea.Marilyn trying to keep involved feels selfishly motivated.

Mali continued to be frustratingly inconsiderate towards Rose, until he finally couldn't ignore Zara dropping pointed comments about their history to upset her. While I appreciate him being honest with Rose, and that he feels an obligation to look after a family friend, I do think he needs to be straight with Zara, and keep on being straight, and say "If you want to go back and help our community with what you've learned, great, but my life's here now", rather than waving off her suggestion that they go home and have babies together with an awkward look.

Dana cuts a rather nice figure in that one piece.?

Mali/Zara I'm 50/50 with the situation. Good to know someone's backstory but the past love thing is a bit "Been there done that"

Justin must have had his foot DOWN the whole way to airport once Leah got in the car (Who wouldn't if you had Maz living with you?!)

It's funny, Felicity's reason of not wanting to bring kids into a world like this is one I've heard myself.  Whilst that is partially true, I think some people don't want the responsibility and more importantly, don't want their freedom restricted.  I wonder if that's the same for her.

I haven't been keen on Rose as of late but I think Mali was out of line moving his ex girlfriend in.  And I didn't like the fact he hid it from Rose literally a couple of days after not telling her about his performance at Salt during the hosted Hen's night.  Trying to get my head around Zara.  She goes to find him and declare her love for him after a five year absence.  Things can't have been great for her as she should have moved on a long time ago considering she was the one who ended it.  I don't like her.  I find her to be manipulative and conniving, particularly the way she got Mali's mum onside as a way to emotionally blackmailing him into allowing her to stay (Hopefully Makcnezie will kick her out when she returns).  I feel Mali has shown quite a bit of weakness here but his family clearly aren't keen on Rose.

I'm still enjoying the fact that Roo is keeping it real re Marilyn.  Marilyn obviously thinks Roo is just going through a phase she will snap out of judging by her reaction when Roo asked her to collect the rest of her things and hand her keys over.  I guess you could argue that Dana made the right choice telling Roo about what happened at her last job but I'm not sure that would have made any difference.  Roo's disdain towards Marilyn is so high right now, it looks as though she prepared to override anything within reason.

Harper is still getting on my nerves with the whole goody two shoes thing.  I was actually glad she lost her job although it does mean there's no reason for her to leave the Bay.

I agree that Dana looked hot in the swimming costume.
