Not very smart of Rose to go meet her dad on her own at least she could have taken Marley with her

Shame that Irene has been written out the Harper and Dana’s story interesting that Cash can’t get access to Dana’s file something abit odd

Not that bothered about Kirby or Lyric really but Forest he is going to turn out to be dodgy probably Felicity’s self defence classes might come into play further down the road for Kirby

Kirby's announcement her going solo was being made public the next day was a bit of a shock for Justin seeing as Lyrik's album was being released at the same time.  Methinks Forrest is playing a game, he agreed to delay the news but then dropped the bombshell any songs Kirby had any part in writing can't be used by Lyrik, thereby stuffing the album release and any gigs they play.    I like to think if Kirby had a say she wouldn't mind them using her songs.  This was after he'd 'persuaded' Kirby to let him have any dealings with Justin and Lyrik.  He can't stop Justin talking to Kirby he was her friend before he became her & Lyrik's manager.   I'm not sure about Forrest either, I have the feeling he could be very controlling, if Kirby doesn't do what he wants when he wants he could turn nasty.  Shame we didn't see any connection between Remi, Theo and Eden and Kirby though it would have been a touch awkward.

Cash got the case notes at last and it did seem the original investigation was lax to say the least.  Not much he can do despite Dana throwing  a wobbly, except do some digging on his own time.  Dana is certainly on edge storming out like she did when she doesn't like what she's been told, how lucky they were that no-one saw them. Hope Harper locked up when she chased after her.  Eden was invited to the meal but had to cry off didn't she but it would have put her mind at rest about who Harper is.  Irene was a tad nosey wanting to know if Harper and Cash were just friends or anything more - nudge, nudge,?? .   Irene has two sons, well three if you count Mick, so I suppose one of them could have a daughter who could be pregnant.   It could, of course, be a ploy by TPTB and Lynne McGranger had to take leave suddenly.  This will be interesting once others know Irene is away as in John or Leah wanting to pop round and making sure things are OK and maybe bumping into Dana.  It wasn't that long ago we had another Dana who had problems  who was in the bay.

Just as Xander had come round to how Rose had been feeling all her life, he did even volunteer to talk to their mum about it, he feels he's the one being left out.  Mali, Kirby and maybe Rose having their exotic backgrounds and all he is is a boring white bloke.   Had we heard before that one side of Kirby's family was from the Cook islands?   With Rose and Xander rocking up to find you-know-who- it was in both of their interests as she was a secret to them both.  Definitely NOT the best idea for Rose to go round to her 'dad's' place in the middle of the night.  What was she going to do knock on his door and say "Hello I'm Rose and I may be your daughter".  Luckily good sense prevailed and she came home, now this may be old fashioned but why not write a letter - remember those - introducing herself, asking him if he remembers Yvette ? from Uni, what their relationship was and go from there.

It was never explicitly said that Fin and Barry had a daughter but she was seen in an album a while back and she is likely younger than Paul and Mark.

I don't think Damo's been with a woman since Selina and I doubt Grace and Nathan had any kids

Fin and Barry's daughter would definitely be younger than Paul and Mark given they were the oldest, but given Fin's age in the photos, probably not significantly younger. Not beyond the realms of possibility that Nathan and Grace had a daughter, since they were still relatively young when they met, although she'd pretty much have to be a teenage mother to be pregnant now.

Anyway, today, and apart from a few mentions of what Alf and Irene are up to, it's basically all about the Lyrik difficulties.Justin and co made a big assumption in deciding Kirby was aware of Forrest withholding permission to use the songs, leaving Kirby utterly confused at Remi and Theo giving her the cold shoulder. That said, given that Justin appealing to Kirby's better nature backfired big time on them, it's probably not the smartest idea to go down that route again. It's hard to get a handle on Forrest, but he does seem a rather cold person for all the apparent affability.

Who was the other Dana that had problems recently? Last one I can remember is the single mother Flynn helped in 2002!

It's just Fin and Mick to a degree are mentioned as the only Roberts children with children. Irene seems to be in contact with them more than their brothers who got a mention a few years back with their respective lives in NZ and Ireland.

Anyhoo... Lyrik this, Lyrik that. They replaced Bob (Thank F...udge), surely Kirby can be.

Or just disband and get REAL jobs.?

Forrest does seem clinical. I bet after he gets some lovin' his partner's like "How was it?", He responds "Adequate"?

Teenage mum  of twins - as Dan F suggested isn't that unlikely, it happens all the time.

I may have the name wrong, she'd been a doctor in the Army and was suffering PTSD.  She was an old flame of I think - Logan?

Good news, although second hand, that Alf is getting used to his hearing aid(s).

My thinks exactly that Kirby doesn't know about this veto about  the copyright of her songs meaning Lyrik can't perform them, that was down to Forrest as he has taken over all the business dealings so she can concentrate on her writing. I do hope he doesn't use the phrase "Don't you worry your pretty little head about it". ? It would certainly explain why Kirby was so puzzled when Theo and Remi were so cold towards her when earlier they were so welcoming.  Forrest is showing one side to Kirby and one to Justin, he hasn't got where he was etc by bring nice to everyone only the ones he wants to get onside - well for now anyway.  Leah did have the right idea about having some sort of concession, many bands/singers use others lyrics and pay them for the right to use them, but Forrest shut that down.  Obviously when Lyrik set themselves up anything contractual was far from their minds  but of course in hindsight may have been a good idea, but hindsight blah, blah.   Didn't Bob write some of the songs along with Kirby - is that point going to be raising it's  ugly head?    Eden was of course noticeable  by her absence, and has yet to be brought up to date.

Good decision by Bree for her and Kirby to swap rooms, seeing as Bree is already spending more time at Lyrik's than Rose & Xander's, you  actually forget she lives there, it makes sense really.

Still think Fin's daughter is the most likely explanation.Despite the article claiming a Doylist explanation, I've always taken it at face value. There have, after all, been even fewer mentions of Nathan having a family.

I thought you meant her somehow but no, that was Neve.

Anyway, the Lyrik saga continues! Eden gets filled in and we get some nice scenes between her and Remi reflecting on how their lives have gone. They really should have spoken to Kirby before it got to this: Like Justin said, it's a bit late for Eden to want to talk to her now. Mackenzie appeared to shoot herself in the foot (with Felicity taking on the role of the passive partner not wanting to contradict the daft decisions) but it turns out Forrest is actually reasonable with people who play straight with him.Justin and Remi may be expecting a bit much of this fancy lawyer but good to get some proper advice. I smiled at Remi admitting you don't need keys because the door's never locked. Justin has been for a surf, been to the Diner to offload to Leah...and is still having breakfast when Remi comes round? When's his breakfast, half past ten?

I liked Tane and Felicity's playful approach in the early scene, and Mackenzie and Bree getting into the swing of things at the class. Felicity and Eden's interaction was a bit odd in places, with Felicity saying she'd been a bad friend but then quickly steering the conversation back to what she wanted.I was expecting someone to get punched but I thought it would be Tane rather than Felicity.

Well, whoever the grandparents are, it seems Irene's a great-grandparent! I wonder if she made it before Alf, given most of the likely candidates have either been forgotten about or lost touch with him...

Thanks for that Red about the name.

It still hasn't been mentioned, though all academic now of course, that Kirby hasn't actually  said herself about the rights to her songs so I'm guessing she still doesn't know why she's got the cold shoulder.   Good point by Justin that Eden can't expect Kirby to suddenly want to see/speak to her.

That was some sad reminiscing, Theo wasn't about of course but he wasn't there back in the day when Lyrik got together so wouldn't have their shared history.   It appeared from what Remi was saying to Eden both of their families have good connections which he has decided to utilise.  Sounded like a reasonable conversation Remi had with his dad even if it was one sided and it was soon set up with Remi grabbing Justin and them having to rush off to the city.   I can see why Mac was upset - to put it mildly - about the change of Lyrik's playlist - it looked like a ton of food and gallons of drink had  been bought and more staff brought in for the night.  The one contract Lyrik has with SALT has gone down the pan as they - not their fault - have broken their side of it. OK Forrest did seem very reasonable but of course he wants to get Mac onside, hope she - or her lawyer - reads through it properly.  Mac was very gloaty with Justin about her deal with Forrest.

Rather sweet the gesture of  Remi giving Bree the, mostly unused keys, to the house.  I'm guessing Rose & Zander were OK with Bree moving out and Kirby moving in even if on a temporary basis? Would they need to let the landlord/lady know?

Nothing to do with anything but the grass where the keep fit/self defence class was being held is a bit rough looking.   Tane got a good crowd, did I see a coupe of blokes there?   May have seemed Flick wanted Eden there for her, but she was right about it being a good way for Eden to let her anger out,  bet she didn't think it would be taken out on her for real, though totally accidentally.  We didn't see many moves but it looked like it was going well. Was it Kirby or Forrest Eden was lashing out at?   Forrest has only met Justin and Kirby hasn't he?

An add on - Marilyn was letting Leah off her shift so she could go to SALT with Justin but as the gig was cancelled why didn't Leah come back to the Diner and help Maz or swop back? ?  It could be Maz wasn't too keen going home too early as the place would have bene empty.

Alf has Duncan, Roo and Quinn.  Martha, Roo's daughter, could have a child with  Hugo.   Ric Dalby - Alf's grandson could have a child by Matilda but as said nothing has been heard of from any of them for years.  If we're really stretching it we could include Shauna - Alisa's daughter.
