Kirby has been  very acerbic lately and it was affecting everyone as they felt they should walk on eggshells, so much so they can't even decide on a name of the album.  Took some tough talking from Remi for her to go and actually talk, as in talk, not yell, to/at Theo.  Yes, she kept banging on about how they weren't together anymore but they were together long enough for her to tell him about her near death experience which the others, it appeared, knew about,  but of course not down to them to reveal.  He would have understood, he's a surfer himself and likely had some pretty scary moments.  Hopefully, ?, this will cool things down so while still keeping things professional band wise  they can be 'friends'.

Justin did manage to get them all together in one place for about five minutes,  he'd have better luck herding cats, but then they had to dash off to mix the tracks seeing as they only had two weeks.  Think that was bad news, wait until Justin breaks the latest.   Would he be to blame for the venue suddenly deciding they didn't have the right electrical gear for the launch? It was nice of Theo to offer to help him out before the bombshell.

It will be someone else getting on someone's nerves on here at sometime. Leah, Irene, Eden, Kirby, Alf, Bree, Justin.

Martha being at the hospital in the city with Roo does mean Alf doesn't have to keep trolling up/down to Merimbula every week or so so we do see him more.

Marilyn certainly got the wrong end of that stick - seems she doesn't mind if John Irene did become a couple for real which Irene found horrifying.?  She's perfectly happy with them being friends - good friends.   She was just disappointed  she'd made up that huge lasagne which wasn't going to get eaten.

It, meaning the Felicity drama, could be ending soon so it won't be 'dragging on'.

I think Kirby handled things as well as she could there. It might not have been what Theo wanted to hear, but it had the virtue of being honest.Even though Leah gave him some good advice, he was still being distant with Kirby afterwards, which isn't helping things. Justin springs things on everyone (or at least those that bothered to turn up) in a bad news-good news-other bad news kind of way and was surprisingly authoritative and assertive. He did a decent job with the pep-talk, right until he ended it with "Don't stuff this up." Really, Justin? That's the positive note of encouragement you decided to send them out on?

It didn't take long for Tane to twig what Felicity had done. I'm not sure why she seemed to change her mind about telling him about the latest blackmail demand.Did she not want to upset him again so soon after he'd decided to support her, or does she want to sort it out herself without worrying him? Hard to see how she's going to get the money given she had to beg for the last lot.

Irene and Marilyn get one token scene, where Marilyn started off quite well with a simple dinner invite but had to overegg the pudding and annoy her.

It all depends on the number of eps the annoying character is in, progression/regression of storyline also frequency or scenes.

This time around it was Theo getting on his high horse.   It was good he listened to Kirby but took umbrage she said she didn't feel she could tell him as they hadn't been together long enough, as I said before he trusted her enough to tell her about his dad which was something very personal.  It did make things very awkward when Justin broke the news about the launch being that night.   Eden eventually got the news despite her being rung several times. ?  Justin acted as a manager should, more or less, telling them what they are doing, not asking, no vote taking needed.  Still the big debate of what they are going to call the album - any ideas anyone?   Eden was more tied up with finding out what was bothering  Felicity and that was before that new text.   Flick can lie quite convincingly except when she gets caught out like when Tane comes up behind her and finding out about the $10,000 she'd borrowed from Cash. I had the feeling she was going to tell Tane but decided to do what she is gong to do. Don't worry about the money Red. ?  Is that place - Boulder Point(?) he asked her to drop the money in the bin at near the bay, another indication he is fairly local?

It was brave of her going back to  a venue, but Tane is there this time.

That place certainly looked posh and where did Lyrik get those posh outfits from?  Seeing what short notice there'd been it was a good crowd. There was more tension between Theo and Kirby but once he got singing it went until they stopped.   Had Cash done his three days hence his non appearance?   Why wasn't Leah there, she wasn't doing a shift at the Diner?

The way Maz put it it did sound like a pity invite. ?

Well, Lyrik's album launch was more of a hit than a miss, despite a couple of dodgy moments.Kirby did well coming to Theo's rescue, but then she gets floored by yet another case of Remi making a decision without consulting everyone. They really should have locked down a name between them before going there to avoid that, and Remi really should have told the others what he'd done, not let them find out from social media. While I'm glad Bree owned up to her loose lips, it was noticeable that she waited until she and Remi were alone, even when Eden was looking like prime suspect. Justin made a decent compere.

You kind of had to not blink at the right moment to see that it wasn't money in Felicity's bag, but seems she has come up with a plan smarter than just carrying on paying.Of course, keeping Tane out of the loop has kind of led to him losing his patience to keep quiet. I'm glad she did drop her defences and talk to him when they got back to the house, even if she didn't tell him everything.

Marilyn and Mackenzie was an odd choice to double team Irene (and, I suspect, not the original plan, given that Mackenzie wasn't credited!), but worked extremely well, at least in terms of giving her a good night even if it didn't solve anything long term.

It was a hit considering it was so last minute.  Poor Theo looked liked  a rabbit trapped in a car's headlights, but Kirby did come to his rescue,  she didn't put him down, wasn't patronising, bigged him up if anything and he accepted it as it was meant so it was nice to see them getting on at the bar.  Letting Remi off, a bit, by telling the journo the name of the album before OK'ing it with anyone, but he would have been pushed and if they had had time to talk about it properly they would have chosen a name between them.  What was the obsession with that journo and her keep asking questions as to why Mercedes wasn't there, Remi gave her the reasons why, but she wouldn't let it rest so Justin felt he had to intervene and steer the questioning on.  Seeing as he was winging it too Justin did do a good job.

I liked how Justin was boosting Theo's still somewhat deflated ego as an interviewee when they got home, all reviews, mostly, were good. Leah, I'm guessing, was in bed.

Cash turning up like he did and Eden's smile when she saw him immediately brought to my mind Abba's Super Trouper.

I said it was brave of Felicity going there, she was fine most of the time, but then all the singing, dancing. laughing suddenly triggered the flashbacks.   Tane just got her out, though not before Cash had questioned him how things were between him and Flick.  She can't have got much sleep with all of that going round her head.  Then we saw 'the note'.  A plan of sorts anyway.  Tane catches Cash at the Coffee Cart and tells him the latest.  We saw Flick ducking down behind the wheel then revving the engine, but it looked like she hadn't  moved.  How did Cash & Tane know where to find her?

Odd trio with Mac, Maz and Irene and as you said Red, nothing was really resolved.  I dare say TPTB have something in mind for her. Btw how do you play Scabble with yourself, two bags of letters?

Hmm, another case of the promo showing too much perhaps? I felt a bit underwhelmed by it and it wasn't the moment of triumph for Felicity that it could have been, with her still left shaken by the experience and unable to face her attacker. I'm not sure about Cash and Tane's attitude towards her. I think they had good reason for being upset at being kept out of the loop (and Felicity's reasons for keeping things secret are getting more and more arbitrary) but it's hard to be angry with her when she's in a state like that.

Mali was acting a bit like a bear with a sore head, which put him in good company with Alf. I think he said both too much and too little to Xander, in saying he'd made mistakes but not saying exactly what. Still, unlike Alf, he managed to listen to John, who is definitely taking on the role of wise old mentor at the surf club.

Oddly enough, Cash and Tane's reaction reminded me of when kids wander sometimes because they've seen a butterfly on something, the parents are tearing their hair out, then the kid walks back totally none the wiser and it's the angry/relieved bit of 'I told you never to run off' type moment. I do get why Flick wanted to do it but it was a very big, possibly dangerous risk because if the man in question had caught her snapping the pics, he could've reacted badly and in those seconds anything can happen.

Alf and the obvious deafness/stubbornness that he is now seeming to suffer from...I know someone who is just the same but they've been almost completely deaf for nearly 30 years and still won't get help, even though the rest of the family are practically going deaf from 10 hours of TV at 60 decibel volume a day and being insulted again and again much the same way. I think there is difficulty on both sides on that because everyone wants to help but the idea of even minor frailties are frightening to all.

Alf's episode count this week:Three. Leah was only in one, although she was credited on Wednesday for no appearance.(Given that Mackenzie wasn't credited despite appearing, I suspect it was originally meant to be Leah accompanying Marilyn to see Irene.)

Given the circumstances, it really wasn't a good idea to have Cash take the DNA sample on his own: The other officer even walks out of the room when he comes in! Other than that, he managed to stay professional and not smash anyone's head against a table no matter how tempting it was. The episode came close to highlighting one of my problems with the original set-up, the fact that there was no DNA match at all, but maybe the police weren't able to get a sample in any of the previous cases.I don't think Cash can really blame himself for this one, there wasn't really any more he can do. Maybe he still feels hurt that Felicity had such trouble confiding in him?

I liked the scenes between Mackenzie, Tane and Mali: This show is good at presenting friendship banter amongst its 20-somethings (Rose worked well as a friend to Cash as well). I wonder if anything's going to come of Mackenzie wanting a board for a friend? (...Kirby?) Mali forgets who knows what and ends up setting Rose up for a "meet the parents".

I didn't realise Alf was having hearing troubles until he didn't respond to John and Mali, and neither did they obviously, I thought he was just being grumpy and distracted as usual. It is, however, very in-character for him to deny having a problem, to himself and everyone else. If only Sally were still here...

Or two racks?

Oddly enough, I actually attempted it once but as a co-goal to a writing project but also I think, if you're a word person,  you could take it as a different kind of challenge whether beating your score or tile count each round or trying to make each word connect with another i.e. tree and house but the basis being the same?
