Ugh, two Lyrik-heavy eps back to back is not advisable...

*rubs temples*

I’m afraid they are the main characters for at least three years lol Oh dear that means Bree is probably going to be as well

And I think having a classical singer or violinist is for the band it works for Nightwish or Within Temptation

Lyric just doesn’t have a clue as for Justin being manager shouldn’t he be making the decisions not Remi haha

Alf's episode count this week:Two, and then he left town.

Well, even when all of Lyrik are in the episode, they still don't all turn up to the meetings! While I think Theo has been a rubbish boyfriend at times lately, Kirby lost my sympathies by behaving like a self-centred hypocrite. She hauled Theo over the coals for not making the band a priority, and then ditches it herself to wallow in self-pity, leaving Eden and Remi hanging without a word. (I suspect her criticism of Theo was just her looking for any reason to have a go.) And now she's messed up Rose's head with her misandristic comments. It'll be a shame if Rose turns Mali down just because of that. Incidentally, why did Rose put Kirby to bed in her room, when it was obvious Bree's room wasn't going to be used? We even see that Mali spent the night on the sofa, so where did Rose sleep? Did she take Bree's room or did she share with Kirby?

Well, there's obviously some history with Mercedes, given Eden's horror at the idea of her turning up.I'm not sure she's done anything to deserve Bree looking daggers at her though. Bree giving Remi a taste of his own medicine by giving a medical lecture and inviting him to a conference was kind of amusing.

Remi was trying to get them all together so he could tell or warn them Mercedes was turning up, but as none of them were there at the same time that kind of went out of the window. It seemed she just rocked up off her own back anyway.  Definitely some sort of history given Eden's reaction, of course Theo is unaware of what went on before he joined, so will need to be filled in. Be interesting to see what a hungover Kirby's reaction will be.  What is this 'the way she treated us' comment Eden made referring to?

It did appear she was was comparing the way Theo has been behaving  was the same  way Bob had behaved towards her when it's nothing like it.  He did try to explain he had been taken up - or as she put it distracted - over Andrew but she shut that down and was taking it so personally.

Irene was very understanding  by KIrby just walking off shift, not that she would have been much use anyway.   OK fair enough  she felt she had to get drunk to get over it and Rose felt she ought to be there as her friend, but that was one self pitying  rant. She can certainly put it away, methinks the I hate all men rant was just the drink talking and she is going to have one hell of a sore head in the morning and would have forgotten half of what she said.    Mali was very understanding by Rose keep putting him off to be with Kirby, helping Rose get  her to the flat, then kipping down on the sofa.  I think he was waiting to talk to Rose after she put Kirby to bed but it didn't work out that way.   Maybe Rose felt she ought to sleep where Kirby was sleeping in case she was sick during the night?  Btw have we seen Bella's old room lately or has it been dodged with clever camera angles?

Seeing as Bree has never seen  Mercedes before maybe it was Remi's reaction  to seeing her, big hug and looking pretty pleased with himself.  Bree, being an intelligent  woman, must know he would have history with plenty of women before her. But then seeing one in the flesh so speak makes it real. I'm glad Remi got Bree's point about her being so enthused about this medical conference, they do have different life styles but they can accommodate each others interests. it's called compromise.

Two weeks on, and the Andrew and Marilyn stories continue to be the only games in town of any interest - and even when one of them features in an episode, it seems to be 50/50 at the moment whether they'll actually be advanced in any way or just have people standing around talking about the current state of play until it's time for the relevant cast to be back on-screen. ? Otherwise it's just been the usual mishmash of dull relationship dramas and band-related angst.

The Vita Nova stuff continues to be the main highlight - strong twist with Andrew's mum turning out to be nothing of the sort, so look forward to seeing more of her and where things go from here. While Cash certainly screwed up to some extent, it seems to me that it's the lack of interest from the wider police force that's the real problem here; they haul him over the coals for it, and yet for some reason they're not interested in pursuing the fact that Andrew, who's still presumably a minor legally, has been driven off to a heavily fortified cult under false pretences by someone claiming to be his parent - raising the question of what on earth the police are for if not this. And yes, I'm guessing the fact men armed with crossbows were stood nearby might just have had some impact on Andrew's claim of not wanting to leave with Justin. Theo may be behaving rashly in the last couple of episodes but at least he's doing something at a time when everybody else seems to have largely given up. Wasn't really interested in Kirby's relationship whining in the midst of all that.

On Stunning Organics, on the plus side we finally got Irene coming back to do the "gawd save us" routine thanks to all the boxes in her living room and the brick through her window. But now she's been released from her contract I really don't know why Marilyn keeps on 'poking the bear' rather than just quitting while she's ahead - particularly when her friends are all being threatened too by this hazy corporation. Still, it might be worth it drama-wise when things inevitably step up a gear. I'm still half hoping it gets tied into the cult stuff further down the line although it seems I'm alone in thinking along those lines at the minute.

Bit of a damp squib ending with the Kahu story, if that's what it was - or is he going to follow Tane back to Summer Bay as a reformed character?

Lyrik continues to bore and frustrate in most regards. And, oh, god, now we have another band-centred spanner in the works in the form of Mercedes, by the looks of things.

Spoiler

And in the promo she had a violin - that should mix things up a bit. At least she's not playing the triangle, I suppose.

That violin didn’t make that much difference to the sound of Lyrics only two songs lol they definitely not worth £20 grand

Gosh this program has got sooo boring I also don’t know why Marley and Rose don’t just get together

The opening with Mercedes' bike on Lyrik's driveway left me wondering if she gave Theo a ride on the back or wheeled it all the way from the beach. The problem here is that, until we get some sort of explanation for this feud, all we're left with is Eden being childish towards someone who doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong, in a way that does just come across as jealousy.(We do get a hint of it in the promo, so we'll see.)That goes double for Bree, who, aside from Eden's vague warnings, doesn't have any reason for her death glares except for a Jacobesque dislike of Remi being friends with an attractive woman she doesn't know. Throw in Kirby being petty towards Theo, which has wiped out any sympathy I had for her over what a jerk he's been to her lately, and it's not a good look for any of them.

Kirby is left with a lot of apologising to do, although Mali pretty much gets a "Sorry, not sorry." Dragging out this Mali and Rose thing has pretty much drained my interest. Either get back together or don't, I don't really care which.

KIRBY: How am I supposed to sing the songs we wrote together, and pretend they're not killing me?

Jesus wept. Between Kirby and Theo's break-up-for-no-reason (though I'm assuming Mercedes will set her sights on him presently), Bree being possessed by the green-eyed monster, and this silly Mercedes/Eden feud, there was precious little reason to pay even the least bit of attention in this episode. I don't know how much longer this angsty muso stuff can realistically be sustained for; it's slowly throttling the life out of the show.

Your suggestion of Mercedes playing the triangle I would like to see that I think the sound of it going ping at the end of the song would stand out more than that violin did To be fair it didn’t stand much chance against four electric guitars

Not excusing the TF's lack of concern in Andrew's case,  but they will have many other similar situations like that to look at.  It is of concern to the Yabbie Creek's concern, well Cash's actually as no-one else there apart from Rose who took part in it.

I didn't myself see any jealousy on Bree's part, just a 'who's she and how does she know Remi?' look.  She would have been told  what he was like before he met her,  and he can't name/remember every woman he knew before her.  She only knew Jacob.  We did find out, thanks to Mercedes, that they knew each other at boarding school which he got kicked out of and he lived in a posh house or rather his mum & dad's.  She did seem surprised Bree wasn't a one night stand but his girl friend, she may not like that.  I'm not getting good vibes from her.

More interesting was the reason behind the animosity positively glowing  from Kirby and Eden towards Mercedes which we did keep getting hints of.  The "After what she did last time" being one and other veiled hints.   That rehearsal, when it finally happened, was interesting, Remi grinning his head off, Theo I hope  more fascinated by Mercedes' playing than he was in her and to be fair she was good.  Only three guitars, Eden is on keyboard.   He'd only just met her so I don't think he was making excuses for her by saying she'd only just joined them so wouldn't know their routine, so causing another row between him and Kirby. Theo stormed off, then Eden, then Kirby so that went well. I'm supposing Mercedes was with them before, which is the impression I was getting, when Bob was in charge, how did he handle it?

Theo and Kirby did make peace, kind of, before Kirby found out about Mercedes being there which because of her hangover - no sympathy there - made it worse than maybe it could have been.

Bree did try before to get the truth of why Eden hated her but she ducked it, then after the walk out she tried again with Eden still not wanting to say and that Bree should ask Remi but Bree was insistent and we got  she's a snake and the  'she stole Remi' line.  But no-one can 'steal' a person they are not an inanimate object, but Eden has warned Bree to watch out for her.

Kirby did kind of apologise to Mali, twice.  Not in the best head space first time around, but did make a better of it go the second time.  Made a better job of it with Irene, guessing Irene didn't know she went on  a bender, although she wouldn't criticise,  there may have been a look or  a 'be careful doll' warning.  She did get 'we had to get someone in to stand in for you' and  the 'one more time and I'm looking at whether you'll still be working  here' line.  I'm supposing Kirby wasn't due on shift seeing as Eden dragged her off to the rehearsal.

After all that talk, interrupted by a drunken Kirby and Mali's delivery nothing got sorted between Mail and Rose.  She's still worried that if something came up like what happened when Xander was ill and she went to work which Mail couldn't understand why, would it split them up again.  He's willing to take the chance but it seems she isn't.   Just because their siblings want them together doesn't mean it should happen at least not right now.

Alf clearly doesn't like John.  That's one thing as I can understand why but I think he's being very unprofessional the way he talks to him.

Rose really is a fickle one although I do get where she's coming from and why she has reservations now that Mali has decided he's interested.  That wasn't much of an apology from Kirby when he saw her and it's annoying how she was projecting onto Rose and got into her head.

I actually thought something might happen between Xander and Kate from the Channel 5 description of the episode shown on Thursday.

Justin didn't even acknowledge Eden when he saw her with Felicity last week.  I feel this is important as we can see issues now that the band isn't being managed.  Although you can argue Remi is effectively the manager given that he acts unilaterally.

First impressions of Mercedes are she annoys Eden - I like her already.?
