As it turned out it was Alf who ordered the sun block, naturally to the Surf Club,  and Marilyn did go and apologise to John so you can cut the sniping about her over that.  I agree with Red, Marilyn wants to pay her won way towards Jett and Lyndney(?)'s wedding and having John buying a bulk order of sun block would have defeated the object.  Of course Alf would be snipey about John or as he still insists on calling him Palmer.  ?

It must cost  TPTB a bit finding a suitable inside location to build a temporary courtroom in or as been suggested in the studio, not as if they have that many trials to make them cost effective.

Why waste a perfectly beautiful  day sitting  in a gloomy room when you can sit outside in the sun for your  first counselling session, make you more relaxed imo.   Not that Justin was, he seemed amazed Amanda was as young as she was, does he think counsellors should be old and doddery?  I do have to mention and it may just be me but did TPTB wardrobe department seem to have fallen into the trap/cliche of what they feel  a counsellor  should look  like.  Floaty, dress/skirt and what  was with the shoes, it did jar with me.   Justin did think it would be a quick fix (no connection with an English tyre repair firm) btw.  ?    He did get snappy with her when she was only asking gently probing questions to find an opening.   Thinking back when he loses his temper he has  come across as a kid throwing a tantrum. I did have to look up about what happened with Stephen, beating him up, but he had been on the online painkillers having God knows what  side effects.

Mali and Mac sharing the farmhouse will be an interesting pairing - ?.  At least he's stocking up on food, loved them dancing to her, according to him, rubbish music.    Bit different living in a small flat in the bay itself  to a big house out in the country.  Unless Mali snores like an express train Mac shouldn't be that disturbed by him, not as if they will be sharing the same room - yet. ?     I'm guessing she's moving into Ziggy and Dean's bedroom, there are least two other bedrooms aren't there, one was made into the nursery though wasn't it?   Are there any rooms upstairs?

I can see why Rose was so concerned about Xander wanting to go to Jamie's funeral knowing how things like this affect him.  But not letting him go could have had worse after effects.  She couldn't have held it from him for ever and luckily (or not) he rang the ambo station and found out it was that day and he hadn't missed it.   Another clash there between Mali and Rose about differing family opinions and what she thought was for the best.  True he hasn't seen what we've seen when Xander has lost  a patient and he didn't know them, but Rose has. Still Xander's choice, if he'd still been in hospital it would have been out of his hands.   Lovely, if that is the correct word, order of service funeral card with the drawing of Jamie by his son inside.

In the history of funerals has anyone ever had a picture of themselves inside the order of service that looks like a kid’s drawing Poor Jamie but also quite amusing

Well I guess you can’t deny Marilyn products  brought some coulour to Roos cheeks

I'm actually good to carry on if I want to cheers... ? Not that I've much to add, as my opinion still stands about her (and others) double standards when it comes to John, whether she later apologised or not.

More silliness today with Roo's allergic reaction - Alf listing off those ingredients like they're toxic waste, when in reality they're all perfectly normal things you'd find in a skincare range (which can also be naturally derived). Roo could easily have an allergy to any of them but it doesn't necessarily mean the product is dangerous, it's just not for her. Hopefully she'll get sorted with a proper allergy test, and they'll arrange to find out if there is actually anything untoward in the product, before anyone makes assumptions... ?

Good tip for anyone else having a reaction though, probably best to actually go to a sink and wash it off immediately with cold water, rather than just sitting there repeatedly saying "It's burning... it's hot... it's really hot" and then dab it off with a towel ?

Oh and just so you can know whilst you watch it, this coming Monday's episode is the second one to be written by Penny McNamee (Tori) ?

Alf's episode count this week:Five! The only characters to make three were Irene, Marilyn, Justin and Rose.

I'm not convinced that Marilyn's apology wiped out her behaviour towards John, given that it seemed half-hearted at best.John does seem to be turning into the show's resident butt monkey, which feels unfair to the character.Alf quickly learns the drawbacks of giving Marilyn unconditional support, as she quickly tries to bully Roo into doing her work for her (something she already seems to have got Kirby doing). Bree seemed fairly certain Roo wasn't having an allergic reaction, unless it was just a certain type of allergic reaction she ruled out.If that's the case, it does suggest there's something harmful in the products, even if it's not what Alf thinks it is. Some more research might be required!

Justin's going over his past was nicely nostalgic, even if there was a distinct lack of mention of Raffy! It makes sense that he'd have been on edge while in witness protection and have trouble shaking that, it's a shame it seems to have left him so defeatist.

I guess if Xander really is tired of his job, then quitting is for the best, but he needs some idea of what he's going to do with his life.

She was able to rule out that Roo was anaphylactic, so therefore wasn't in any serious danger. Could still be an allergy which caused contact dermatitis or suchlike though.

There was me concentrating on the lack of Buddy in his prized possessions that I missed the forgotten sibling... ?

Turning into a butt monkey?

John's sort of being a moderate figure of ridicule for years but We like him anyway. I miss how there was a quiet unspoken respect with Maggie and the whole Amber thing.

This Marilyn story is going the way we all expected it.... If this was the early years, blotch-faced customers would surrounding  shaking this fists at her and she'd be fleeing in Lance's car, "Dur, get in Maz!"? And more than likely Martin would be in on the hustle.

Buddy's being neglected,  maybe he should defect to Erinsborough when Neighbours starts up again.?

Tbf, Alf's been around a while and knows "what sort of rot" would "kill a brown dog". The point Hammered hone is it's the kind of dodgy thing that would be peddled by Arthur Daley/Del Boy Trotter/Mo Harris (delete as applicable)

99 out of a 100 people would not have had an allergic reaction to that face mask or any other of Marylin's beauty products, but Roo did and how handy she was sitting right there in front of her and not a usual customer and had taken it home and used it, double whammy Bree just happened to be upstairs.  Kirby had tried one of the products in front of customers and had no ill effects.  Even natural ingredients can cause bad reactions.  That was rather naff her just sitting there and no-one even thinking  of getting her to wash it off - guess it wouldn't have been so dramatic otherwise.   Maz did admit she hadn't tried any of it, not that would have proved it was safe for everyone. Marilyn trying to sign Roo up as an Ambassador another clue it's a Pyramid scam.   Roo is still tutoring btw.

The drawing looked like it was done by a child because it was - Jamie's son.  I'm supposing his mum was behind it and was OK with it, made him feel part of the day. He saw his dad as a hero hence the drawing of him looking like a Supermedic.

Maybe a knee jerk reaction by Xander saying he wants to quit, triggered by his colleagues asking when he's going back as if everything will be OK.  I'm guessing any emergency service worker has gone through the same or similar experience Xander has, they have a gallows humour to get them through it and I'm supposing he's been offered counselling.   I guess at some point anyone of them think "That's enough" and walk away.

John can act like a real doofas sometimes and can make us ?, but then he does or says something that turns his character completely the other way round. His kindness to Mac, how he was with Nik.  It's only Alf who never seems to be on his side and is always putting him down.

I'm guessing the five things Justin was asked to take into Amanda were inanimate objects as opposed to people or animals.  He trusted his initial instincts to take in the items he chose - photo of him & Leah, him and Ava and the family, guitar.   After a couple of  gentle questions from Amanda he told her the truth about how his parents died and what he, Brody, Mason and Tori had gone through.  He being the eldest, felt it was his 'job' to keep them safe and when they were in danger he had to protect them, no mention of Mason though and him not being able to save him?  Now they are all safe, he doesn't have to 'protect' them but when Ava was in 'danger' he flipped back into protective mode.   He sees it now, but subconsciously won't be easy not to react in future, years of conditioning, which he didn't even realise was happening,  to overcome.

Marilyn and her Beauty Tree... I mean Avon... er... Herbal Life... Amway... um, Snake oil.

*mimes hanging in a noose*

(Seen this kind of thing too many times)

Points for John being a walking PSA. Get the word out before more people burn alive or suffer worse reactions.

One of Alf's famous catchphrases uttered in the cliffhanger.

And it wouldn't take an Oxford grad to work out recent events would put a strain on Justin/Leah
