I have to confess to a cheeky VPN enabled watch of the 2004 Olympic Cliffhanger.  Amazing to see it in HD for the first time - it looks incredible, not like an 18 year old programme at all.

The Olympic Return in particular is next-level and the HD pictures really show off some incredible cinematography.

Although going from watching Bec Cartwright act her heart out into Christmas ads is a bit of a gear-grind!

I know Beau's "Christmas Carol" style final episode will break me, but I'm still going there.

So many little details you miss in SD.  The way Tammin Sursok managed to make a tear fall bang on-cue when Scott proposed to Dani... impressive.

I am watching the episodes on 7Plus and trying to watch them in order, which means a little back and forth between the four catergories. Can someone please confirm which episode comes first out of Michael's death and the birth of Angel's daughter Shane. I assume these are back to back, but I don't want to start the wrong one so I can avoid "spoilers". The Back to the Bay reference page for Births, Deaths and Marriages also has both listed as episode 1912.

For the most part it's pretty easy with episodes from the same year, based on my knowledge of H&A or looking up someone's final episode, when they got married etc, just a few like this.

Angel gave birth the same night Michael was swept away so it should be the same episode

Michael's "death" episode first and the Sjane being born.

It's really the same episode though. Micheal gets swept away and Shane is born at the end of the first episode. The second takes places straight away and repeats Micheal beings swept away and we see baby Shane. Micheal then dies off-screen by drowning in the second episode.

Seeing Summer Bay House in the 2008 finale reminded me how much better it looked before the red makeover and I wasn’t even a big fan of the first post-Sally look at the time, but I quite like it now.

I never watched mid/late 2005 - early 2013 other than the "big events" like Sally's exit, Flynn's death and Marilyn's first few episodes upon returning, so it's interesting for me watching these for the first time, but it still doesn't 't make me feel like I missed much by tuning out of those eras though. I've also been dipping in and out since 2017ish, so some of the recent episodes are also new to me.

I'd still like to see some more episodes from the early years though like the deaths of Ken Smith and Stephanie Mboto, the earthquake, Sally's failed wedding to Kieran, the diner fire in 2000 and perhaps the biggest episodes from Saul's cult storyline. I started watching H&A when I was about 7 (around 1996/1997), so Stephanie's and Ken's deaths were quite confronting for me at the time. Stephanie's death was the first TV death I remember watching ever, so that will always be memorable to me for that reason.

There are other disasters (catergoised as "tragedies" on 7Plus) in the Addario years that surprising did not make the cut like the bushfire John started, the bus crash that Nate's wife caused, the hospital explosion caused by Tasma Walton's character or even the sinkhole episodes where Alf reveals Martha is still alive. They were bigger moments than some of the other chosen episodes from her era, like Raffy, Coco and Ryder trapped in the tunnel or even the Ross Nixon episodes. Or going back before her time, the original climax to the Summer Bay Stalker storyline where Sally was kidnapped and Eve was thought to have died. I was tiring of the show by that point, but it was a massive storyline at the time.
