Ryan Posted May 23, 2005 Report Posted May 23, 2005 Big Brother IMO, at least here in the UK, can go either way, you get a good house, and you get good ratings, or the house is naff and people will gradually drift away. Ryan remembers the 2000 series fondly.

Ryan remembers the 2000 series fondly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Was that the series with Brian Dowling? I loved him. *sigh* Shame about the gay thing! I actually remember that as the only series of BB that has ever made my parents laugh. Usually they hate BB, but there was one time when Brian stole Narinder's pants and she was chasing around the house after him...it was hilarious. Sadly things went downhill from there. I loved Nadia last year but it was all a bit 'chav' wasn't it? Top ratings though.
Pierced Musie Posted May 23, 2005 Report Posted May 23, 2005 I could never picture Brian as straight though

Does anyone know if Paul and Helen did get married?
Pierced Musie Posted May 23, 2005 Report Posted May 23, 2005 They moved in together. Don't think they got married though... I think Lee & Sophie got married. They were in BB3, weren't they? Kate shouldn't have won that. It should have been Johnny because he rocked so much!
Andy Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Brother pushes in The Age 26 May 2005 Ratings MELBOURNE is continuing to switch off Channel Seven. Two months ago, Seven's much-publicised ratings recovery, led by Desperate Housewives, Lost and Dancing With The Stars, appeared to have been sealed with a win in Melbourne and eight shows in that week's top 20. But it has been all downhill since then. Last week, Seven came a distant second behind Channel Nine, and had only two shows in the top 20. Nine had 13 and won six out of seven nights. Ten had five shows in the top 20, thanks to the success of Big Brother 5 and was Melbourne's most-watched channel on Saturday night. Seven's demise is due to many factors. The year's first series of Dancing With The Stars has ended, robbing Seven of a regular win on Tuesdays. Desperate Housewives, while still one of Melbourne's most-watched shows, no longer draws the phenomenal numbers that guaranteed Seven a win every Monday earlier in the year. As well, Ten's Big Brother and Nine's Super Nanny have stopped the winning run of Seven's The Great Outdoors at 7.30pm on Mondays. And on Thursdays, which Seven was winning regularly thanks to Lost, its supporting acts My Restaurant Rules and The Amazing Race have buckled under pressure from Nine's Getaway and The Footy Show. Seven's weeknight soapie, Home and Away, has ended its dream run, too, with Ten's Big Brother 5 dominating at 7pm last week. My Restaurant Rules, despite the installation of former Australian Idol judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson as host, has been a disappointment for Seven this year. Last Sunday, with only three restaurants left in the competition, it averaged only 228,000 viewers, 420,000 behind 60 Minutes on Nine and 175,000 fewer than Big Brother 5 on Ten. Nine's position was helped last week by the long-awaited airing of new episodes of the US sitcom Frasier on Tuesday. The reward was immediate: Frasier averaged more than half a million viewers and was the ninth most-watched program on Melbourne TV last week. Overall, Nine won the week with 29.9 per cent of night-time viewers in Melbourne, ahead of Seven (24.8), Ten (24.1), Two (15.8) and SBS (5.4). On the ABC, the debut of the new series of Doctor Who on Saturday night drew 304,000 viewers, 100,000 more than watched the series finale of Monarch of the Glen a week earlier. The return of Parkinson two hours later also raised the ABC's fortunes, with 275,000 viewers.
Andy Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 Brother pushes in Herald-Sun 28 May 2005 Big Brother is rating its socks off for Channel 10, whether we like the show or not. This week it often beat Home and Away, which was unable to maintain the strong ratings it attracted a few weeks ago with the story about the stalker.
stra gilr Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 I hope things pick up soon...it will be a shame if the show looses its wayeven more ...they need to slow down a bit...and THINK!...oh...and to read all of our ever so helpful comments and suggestions..LOL
summerbaychick Posted May 29, 2005 Report Posted May 29, 2005 Big Brother is just a gimmick to get stupid teenagers to waste money on voting and spend on their mobiles. Just like Idol.
