The kids channel Trouble showed old episodes a few years ago.

Five better take a break if they start to catch up!!!!! That's what lost ITV their rights! I couldn't cope with 6 months off again!

I found a massive double sided Will/Vinnie poster from when the show first went over to five! I have no idea why I kept it, I didn't even watch then! But I'm so glad I did!! Just need to decide what side to stick up now! :D

I've had that same poster on my bedroom wall for 4 years now!

I've always have it on the Will side, despite liking Vinnie more.

Hannah's dad, Keith, went into Don's office and held him hostage for an episode demanding to see his daughter.

You can find clips of the episode there.

It was screened, or rather it wasn't, a few months after the Dunblane massacre. Of absolute no interest at all is Thomas Hamiltion, the man with the gun, used to teach at the high school I went to. My claim to fame.

I have a feeling that five is trying to catch up with RTE so that they'll both be able to show the same episodes on the same day.Not too long ago RTE used to be 9 weeks ahead of five but by the end of next week both channels will be more or less on the same episode as RTE is taking a break from H&A for one week due to the Galway Races.

I think that both channels will try to work together like RTE and the BBC do for Neighbours. !!!

Minor niggle, it's only Monday & Tuesday that it's not showing because of the races. Also, I'm wondering when the August break is occuring, H&A is scheduled up to August 5th but RTE said that it was scheduled up to the last week in July so I'm a bit confused.

Maybe they aren't taking a summer break this year? That would be great. The theory that RTE & Five are matching up could be true because H&A isn't on the Wednesday of next week either, which would finally put the days on the correct days. Up till now, we've seen Monday's episode on Wednesday and Friday's on Tuesday. After the races and the 1 day break for a Champions League match, everything will be correct.

RTE might then take a 1 week break and then I think it'll be showing the same episodes as Five on the same days.

Ya I have a feeling thats whats RTE and five are trying to do.As soon as they get to the same episope as each other they'll probably work together in taking breaks as five have rarely taken a break if ever from the show

To clear things up over the football on Channel 5 in the UK.

Last year they held the rights to The UEFA cup campaign Featuring my Beloved Newcastle and Middlesbrough..

They had the rights to screen all of Middlesbroughs games, But ITV2 had the rights to Newcastles Home games in the campaign, But FIVE could show the away matches,

Also it had the rights for Northern Irelands Internationals. and a few other games now and again,

This season, it bought rights to Liverpools preseason friendlies, N.Ireland and Irelands Internationals, And as far as im aware no Uefa Cup matches have been bought... Although Newcastle can yet qualify for the UEFA cup via the inter-toto cup although they havn't a hells chance really.. if by magic they qualify then i guess Five may show some matches. But the UEFA cup matches are normally played after 7. Unless a tie takes them to some obscure nation with a big time differance, Ie Russia or Yugoslavia.

Think so...

There were a couple of UEFA games that kicked off at about 5-5.30pm for some reason (I'm guessing due to time difference) which meant that Home & Away got shunted to 3pm and Family Affairs went on around 3.30pm.

Annoying on one occasion the coverage finished at 7pm... it wouldn't have hurt to put H&A on then rather than throw it into the middle of daytime.

I remember this happening at least twice during the ITV days of H&A... one of which was baby Dale's cot-death in 1994 - the lunchtime edition was screened however there was no evening showing, due to a teatime UEFA kick off.

The other one I remember was during the 1994 World Cup in the USA - I remember H&A being on at 4.30pm with Emmerdale on at 5pm! You wouldn't see that nowadays...

Incidentally, Home & Away was not taken off for any of the three World Cups during its ITV era, however Crossroads, which replaced it following its move to (Channel) Five, was taken off for Japan/South Korea 2002, despite none of the matches potentially affecting the evening showing, and very few knocking out the lunchtime one!

That said, Crossroads did have an hour-long cliffhanger episode before finishing for the footy (in a slightly diluted way to H&A when the Olympics come around!) so it wasn't all that bad.
