Characters with terminal illnesses

Just wondering what everyone's favourite slow death storyline has been and which one you think was done the best?

For some reason I can only think of two

Flynn, and Max Sutherland's girlfriend, though I know must be many more. I remember Floss wanting Sally to help kill her but she ended up all fine and coming back so can't remember how that all played out.

Edit: Just read the first post, didn't realise it was about characters who had slow deaths, thought it was just diagnosed with a terminal illness.
