What can we expect from the 30th anniversary?

If Tom Fletcher was still alive his 70th would have been celebrated as his 40th was in the pilot in Jan 1988. Maybe Sally returns for a posthumous birthday for the original patriarch of Summer Bay, Tom.

It had to be 1988 with Tom's birthday didn't it as they had a year stamp as it cut from 1978 to 1988.

I know some H&A episodes were set some time before transmission, and one time it even jumped 6 weeks in just a couple of episodes but yes it said "1988" at the bottom when the Fletcher's were moving to Summer Bay, that must have been early January as H&A begun on the 17th January 1988, making it a Capricorn.

^That's true. I had forgotten that. It still doesn't make sense that the entirety of the pilot took place over the 4 weeks of the January school holidays - but that doesn't negate the fact that Tom's birthday was stated as 1988 in the onscreen caption.

The 30th is just 5 months away now so surely they must be planning it if they are planning something for it. Could it be a surprise they are planning for the 30th?

I think we should start hearing or seeing things soon. I would love a new version of the theme song, although unlikely. I would love to see old favourites return.
