I guess everyone has their own definition of who are the iconic characters, but for me, those characters (who are no longer around!) are Fisher, Pippa, Ailsa, Morag, Colleen and the original Fletcher children.

Of those, I don't think a return from Morag, Sally, Carly, Frank and Steven is out of the question, but I'm not sure about the others. Debra Lawrence seems to have moved on from Home and Away (though it could just be that Pippa has no reason to return!) and Norman Coburn and Lyn Collingwood will be in their 80s by the time the 30th anniversary comes around, so I imagine their part, if any, would be quite small.

I'd love to see Ailsa return, perhaps in a similar way to what Neighbours did with Madge.

I read somewhere that Debra Lawrance is open to a return so hopefully it does happen and what better time than the 30th anniversary. Do Carly, Frank and Steven still act? Would love to see them back too with Pippa, Sally, Donald, Floss, Morag, Celia, Colleen, Lance and Martin, and Ailsa would be great but they've already done the Alf having visions of her thing. Id be happy to see her involved though if they can come up with something and Judy Nunn would do it.

Would H&A mark the the 7000th episode though? They didn't do anything special for the 5000th or 6000th?

Neighbours had Madge back as a figment of Harold's imagination, so I think Home and Away could get away with one dead character returning (but not more than one!). Who would you prefer? Bobby? Ailsa? Tom? Someone else?  I'd love to see Ailsa. I don't think there would be much point in Tom or Bobby making an appearance unless Sally or Pippa came back (or perhaps Fisher in Bobby's case!), so I'd love to see Ailsa back. That, and she is pretty much my favourite character in the whole history of the show :P

We've already had Ailsa, Bobby and Tom back. Bringing either back again would definitely be going too far

I definitely think Sally will be making an appearance in the next 12-18 months. Kate has said she'll go back for it. I think they could easily get Bec Hewitt and Dannii Minogue back too.

For the 30th anniversary, there is a huge explosion at Summer Bay House which rips through the house, as the Braxtons have returned and are up to their old tricks, then the scene blurs out and fades out then unfades and we then see Donald Fisher waking up from his coma that he has been in since a car crash he had just after he left Summer Bay again in 2007 and thinks "What a terrible nightmare I have had the past 10 years", and the last 10 years of H&A has been a terrible dream. Don is then told it is January 2018 now. Sally and Alf are by his bedside as he wakes up.

"Dear God" says Don "I dreamt that Sally left the bay in 2008, a family called the Braxtons arrived in 2011 and terrorised the Bay and 2 people called Josh and Andy Barrett were involved in the killing of 4 people and got away with it, a plane crashed almost killing the Morgans and Duncan Stewart, and to cap it all there was a huge explosion at Summer Bay House".

^ I liked the Braxton *hides*. 2011 was a Modern Golden Age imo. While the format has changed. So while it's not the same h and a, it was ten years ago . I don't think it's been as bad as ppl say it is. In any case, The Braxtons made the show the popular it's ever been. In any respect . I'm sure the 30th anniversary . We'll be balanced , and respect past and present .

Isla Fisher has said that she would consider a return to the show, primarily for sentimental reasons (so being able to afford her may not be an issue). Could we see Shannon back for the 30th.

I have had a think and I believe that the show should give a nod to the different eras of the show. Everyone has their own personal opinion on where the eras start and begin, so i think they should focus on "broader eras" i.e. Fletcher/Ross Years, Post Pippa years, the Sally years and then the Sibling Family years.
