The first mention of her came earlier in 1994 (though Pippa actually referred to her as Donna Harrison). I thought it was quite good to introduce those three in that way, it acknowledges that Summer Bay does actually have more population than the cast of the show. I agree, I liked the way they were brought in - especially with Travis bringing with him a set that would survive for the next 20 years, they were often good with adding history and community to the bay, usually through Alf referring to a property as "The old <family name> house" so everyone would know which house it was. I think Travis' Dad was meant to have built his house, so by the time it last appeared we were saying goodbye to somewhere between 40-60 years of Bay history.

The fact that there was a reference 5 years earlier to the Nash family being instrumental in the founding of Summer Bay also made it a great piece of continuity. Though admittedly it could have just been coincidence given that Travis got his surname from writer/director Sean Nash, who was also on the team at the time of the earlier Nash reference, but I prefer to think the two uses of his name were purposely linked in Summer Bay history
CaptainHulk Posted March 20, 2016 Report Posted March 20, 2016 Nicola Quilter did appear during 1989 but playing a forgettable bit part SBH student. Stevo and Travis recognised each other from their school days and it's plausible Stevo knew Rob and Donna.
home and away 1988-2000 Posted March 21, 2016 Report Posted March 21, 2016 Obviously the show is starting to feel different since the arrival of Selina, Shannon and Curtis but does anyone feel the show properly changes when the underscores begin to change? Does anyone know what the exact episode is the theme and underscores change as no one seems to know the exact episode number?

I didn't know that. When/what was the reference to the Nash family and who made it? On a separate note... ^^^^^ Obvious stunt double is obvious. ^^^^^
Skylover Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Beau that's amazing! Jack Sticking up for Pippa like that!
Natasha Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 I'm really surprised Tempany still isn't part of the cast yet?
Skylover Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Maybe they were still deciding whether or not to add her to the permanent cast at this point? Actually, I doubt it, seeing as she's living with Irene now. Probably just space in the opening titles like other people suggested.
Sunny Girl Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 They used to take a long while to add the regulars, probably because changing the opening titles was such a big deal. I'm pretty sure she is added in the 1995 opening titles.
CaptainHulk Posted March 22, 2016 Report Posted March 22, 2016 Yep, she is, to coincide with the impending departure of two regulars. Not really a spoiler as one of them recently finished YR12 and is looking ahead to pastures new.
